## 1.2.1
Pack-maker and server-compatibility release — no gameplay changes, all
about giving modpacks and servers control.
### For Pack Makers & Servers
- **Extensive config**: bot mining speed, dig speed, and energy costs
(`botMineCooldownTicks`, `botDigCooldownTicks`, `botMineEnergyCost`,
`botDigEnergyCost`); flattener throughput (`flattenBlocksPerPass`);
mech fuel consumption (the existing `energyDrainMultiplier` applies to
every mech energy cost) — all in `config/mechworks.json`, which
auto-regenerates with new fields on update.
- **Block blacklists**: blocks in the `mechworks:bot_unbreakable` block
tag or the `botBlockBlacklist` config list are never broken or
replaced by any bot — dig routes plan *around* them.
- **Claim protection awareness** (`botsRespectClaims`, default on): bots
carry their deployer's identity and clear every block edit through the
standard Fabric protection events, so chunk-claim mods (FTB Chunks,
Open Parties and Claims, and similar) see the owner at work — bots
mine their owner's claims and refuse everyone else's. Ownerless bots
are adopted by the first player to interact with them.
- **Item-pipe interop**: the Charging Chest exposes the Fabric transfer
API, so modded pipes and conduits can insert and extract (vanilla
hoppers already worked).
- **Recipes**: audited — every craftable item and block ships as a plain
JSON recipe under `data/mechworks/recipes/`, overridable by datapack
for progression gating.
- On energy: MechWorks speaks **Team Reborn Energy**, the Fabric
ecosystem's shared energy standard (the FE-equivalent on this loader);
Tech Reborn, Modern Industrialization, and friends interoperate
through it out of the box.

## 1.2.0
New worker bot, jetpack armor, a from-scratch sound design pass, and a
ground-up rebuild of how the X-Ray Miner navigates.
### Added
- **Jet Boots** — chargeable feet armor that grants real jetpack flight
outside the mech. Hold **jump** in the air to thrust (momentum-based,
steered by where you look — not creative flight). Two tiers:
- *Jet Boots* (diamond-boot armor, 40,000 E)
- *Netherite Jet Boots* (netherite armor, 100,000 E) — adds a **hover
mode**: hold sneak to feather your descent.
- Powered boots soften any landing for a little charge. Recharge on a
Charging Pad or any Team Reborn Energy item charger. Diamond pair is
crafted (mech core + thrusters + plating + servos + blaze rods);
netherite pair is a smithing-table upgrade.
- **Flattening MechBot** — a third bot upgrade. Load its Charging Chest
with dirt and it terraforms up to a **32×32** area (sneak-wrench to
resize) into one flat dirt plane just below the chest: trees felled,
whole mountainsides bored away until every column sees open sky, ground
capped with dirt. It marks the area with a particle fence and **waits
for your right-click confirmation** before touching a block, flies the
grid column by column, **reclaims topsoil** it clears (dirt is never
wasted), survives restarts mid-job, and **parks at its chest when
done** instead of wandering.
- **Custom weapon sounds** — every mech, gauntlet, drone, and projectile
sound is now synthesized from scratch: the blaster's FM *pew*, the gatling's snapping rattle, the
beam saber's plasma-ignition swell, rocket motors that tear away and
brighten, a drill that bites and sags under load, and more.
### Changed
- **X-Ray Miner completely revamped.** The old navigation + carve-and-step
hybrid is replaced by a single deterministic system: the bot plans a
complete route to each ore with **A\*** over its real move set (walk,
step up, stair down, drop — solid blocks just cost more to dig through),
then executes it cell by cell, one body-adjacent dig at a time. It
mines only what it can touch **and see**, so no more phantom digging
through walls. Unreachable ore is identified instantly instead of after
a long stall.
- **Miners now fly to cave-ceiling ore.** Ore with no walkable/diggable
route but an open face (typical of a cave roof over a drop) is reached
by a short controlled flight and mined from the air, then the bot drops
back down — instead of giving up on it.
- **X-Ray Miner requires confirmation** before its first dig, like the
Flattener: it marks its scan area and waits for your right-click.
- **Charging Chest holds 96 items** (up from 54), in a wide 12×8 grid with
a custom tech-styled UI. Existing chests keep their contents.
- Miners **mine right up to the ore face** (arm's reach only) so you can
watch the work.
### Fixed
- **Miners no longer miss deep ore.** A cost-weighting bug in the route
planner made it exhaustively flood shallow layers before ever
committing downward, so deep ore within range read as unreachable and
the bot only took surface copper/coal. Deep columns now clear top to
bottom.
- **Bots ignore water.** Running water no longer shoves them off course,
they walk the bottom instead of bobbing, and flooded tunnels stay
routable — water-covered ore is mined by wading in. (Lava is still
correctly avoided.)
- **Bots no longer wedge on top of their Charging Chest.** The "dancing in
place while it says Working" hang is gone; bots hop clear of the dock
when resuming work.
- Bots are immune to suffocation and drowning (they're sealed machines).
### Notes
- Requires Fabric Loader + Fabric API (Minecraft 1.20.1). Tech Reborn is
optional; its cables, batteries, and chargers interoperate both ways.
- Jetpack flight on a multiplayer server needs `allow-flight=true`.
