## Location Tooltip 0.7.0 Every screen has a new look: a navy leather book with paper pages, made to sit right next to Minecraft's own screens. ### Changed - **The region panel is now a book.** The left page lists your regions with a map icon and how far away each one is. Pick one and the right page shows it on a small map, with its size, centre, owner and protections. - **Protections are icons.** Click one to switch between Inherit, Allow and Deny. It turns green or red, and hovering it tells you which flag it is. - **Settings fit on one spread.** The left page picks which pills show and the right page sets how they look. Mod Menu opens it straight away, so the extra menu screen is gone. - **Buttons, page arrows and tooltips are vanilla.** They look and sound like the rest of the game. - **Delete asks twice.** The first press arms it and the second one deletes. - **Moving pills shows the screen zones.** While you drag, the zone your pill will stick to lights up. - **The compass is called the Admin Compass in game**, matching the wiki. It used to say Master Compass. ### Fixed - **The region list on 26.x no longer flips between all regions and nearby ones** while you hold the Admin Compass with the book open. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game. - Villages and temples get their own map icons when the server runs 0.7.0 too. On an older server they show a plain marker. - Nothing changes for existing worlds or settings. --- *Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu and Waystones are optional.*

## Location Tooltip 0.6.1 A fix for a crash. Update as soon as you can. ### Fixed - **The game no longer crashes when an enderman picks up a block.** A helper class for the mob griefing protection was in the wrong package, and the game refused to load it the first time an enderman tried to grab a block near you. It has been in the mod since 0.5.3 and it affected every Minecraft version. It only fired when an enderman was close by, which is why it looked random. - **The Region Wand and Admin Compass can be crafted on 1.21.11 again.** Their recipes were written in the older format, which 1.21.11 rejects, so both were silently missing from that version. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. ## Location Tooltip 0.6.0 You can drag the pills around now, and the settings screen belongs to the mod rather than to another mod. ### Added - **A HUD editor.** Open the settings and pick Move the pills. The world dims, your pills stay where they are, and you drag them wherever you want. They snap flush to screen edges and to the middle of the screen, with a guide line so you can see it caught. Drop one pill on another and the two join into a neat row, and a row gets a box around it that moves all of them together. Nothing can be dragged off screen. - **An FPS pill.** Off by default. Turn it on with the others and place it like any of them. - **The clock has its own place now.** It used to be stuck to the region pill. Put it wherever you like. ### Changed - **Cloth Config is no longer needed.** The mod draws its own settings screen in the same style as the editor and the region panel. Cloth Config is still listed as an optional dependency so nothing breaks if you have it, but it is not used. This means everyone gets a settings screen, where before you needed Cloth Config or a text editor. - **Sizing is one slider.** There used to be six settings that all had to move together to make a pill bigger. There is one Size slider now that scales the text and icons as a unit, with padding and height tucked under Fine tuning for the rare occasion you want them. Your existing setup carries over at the same size. - **The settings screen has sounds** and its sections are properly separated. ### Fixed - **Corner rounding actually works.** It never has. The corners were being drawn rounded and then filled back in as squares, so any value above 1 gave you a plain rectangle. The slider does something now. - **Borders draw as a ring around the pill.** They used to be a filled shape behind it, so with a see through background you could see the border through the pill. - **No more lines across the pills.** With the background below full opacity you could see faint bands where the pill was drawn. Parts of it were being painted twice and the overlap showed. Every pixel is painted once now. - **The keybind for the region panel has a name.** It has been showing as a raw `key.locationtooltip.open_admin` string in the Controls screen this whole time. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game. - Your config is upgraded automatically. Pills keep the size and position they had. - Nothing changes for existing worlds. --- *Requires Fabric API. ## Location Tooltip 0.5.3 Region borders work with shaders now, and villages from other mods get proper names. ### Fixed - **Region borders draw correctly with Iris.** With Iris installed the boxes came out skewed and slid around as you moved. The mod was asking the render pipeline for its drawing buffer later than the game guarantees it, which vanilla and Sodium tolerated and Iris did not. Only 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 were affected. Newer versions draw a different way and were always fine. One deliberate change came with it. Borders now draw before see through blocks, so water and stained glass correctly sit in front of a border that is behind them. They used to draw over water no matter what. If you run shaders and see the borders wobble by a pixel or two, that is your shaderpack's own anti aliasing rather than the mod. ### Added - **Village names for a lot more places.** Ocean, beach, jungle, swamp, badlands, mushroom fields and the nether all have their own word lists now, and forests were split away from taiga so a birch wood stops getting pine names. Expect Brinestrand, Peatmire, Emberfell, Siennabrook and friends. - **Villages from other mods get named properly.** Towns and Towers and Tidal Towns both work out of the box. Where a mod names its structure after a biome the name follows it, and where it does not, the game reads the biome the village actually generated in. That means the Towns and Towers cultural villages, the Tudor and Iberian ones and so on, are named for wherever they landed. - **The Towns and Towers ship village gets fleet names.** A floating town made of a mothership and its escorts deserves better than Greenhollow, so it gets names like Tempestwatch, Iron Flotilla and Prow Anchorage. Tidal Towns keeps coastal names, since its ocean village is a normal village that happens to be on water. ### Changed - **Wandering trader camps are called what they are.** Towns and Towers has a trader camp that counts as a village, so it was getting a town name. It is called Wandering Trader Camp now. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game. - Nothing changes for existing worlds. Villages you have already found keep the names they have. --- *Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu, Cloth Config, and Waystones are optional.*

## Location Tooltip 0.5.2 Mostly a polish pass. The pills look the way they were always meant to out of the box, and the mod finally looks like something in your mod list. ### Changed - **New default look for the pills.** Smaller text, tighter padding and a much lighter background, so the HUD sits quietly at the top instead of shouting at you. Coordinates and biome are on by default now and line up in the same row as the region name and clock. If you have played before, your existing settings are yours and nothing is touched. This only affects a fresh install. To take the new look, delete `config/locationtooltip.json` and let it write itself again. - **New icons for the protection flags.** The little symbols along the bottom of each row in the Admin Compass, and in the protection grid, have been redrawn. - **A proper icon in Mod Menu.** Location Tooltip had no icon at all, so it showed up blank. It has its logo now, along with a description that actually says what the mod does and links to the wiki, the source and the issue tracker. ### Added - **A wiki.** Twelve pages covering installation, making your first region, the pills, protections, the Admin Compass, villages, all the commands, every config setting and troubleshooting. It lives at [the wiki](https://github.com/FugginBeenus/LocationTooltips/wiki). ### Fixed - **The licence is a real licence.** `LICENSE` had a placeholder line in it instead of the MIT text, so the mod was technically unlicensed despite saying MIT everywhere. It is the actual MIT licence now. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game. - Nothing changes for existing worlds. ## Location Tooltip 0.5.1 Two new pills, real names for villages, and a couple of fixes. ### Added - **Coordinates and biome pills.** Two new pills that match the ones you already have. Turn either on in the config and put it wherever you like on the screen. Pills that share a spot now line up in a row and size themselves identically, so they stop overlapping each other. - **Villages get proper names.** Instead of "Plains Village" you get names like Winterdell or Frost Shire, picked from word lists that lean on where the village sits. Snowy villages lean cold, desert villages lean dry, but there is enough randomness left in that anything can turn up anywhere. The name is worked out from the village's position, so it stays the same every time you load the world. Waystones still wins wherever it has named a village, so this only fills the gap. Turn it off with `/ltregion structures villagenames off`, or with `nameVillages` in the structures config. - **Players can name villages they find.** Off by default. Once a server turns it on, a player standing in a village can open the Admin Compass and name it with the Name button, or use `/ltname`. Naming a village gives them the name and nothing else, so they get no say over its protections. Whoever names it is remembered, so nobody can rename it over them, and the automatic namer leaves it alone from then on. Admins can always rename it and take it back. Turn it on with `/ltregion structures villagenames players on`. ### Fixed - **Mob Griefing and Item Pickup actually do something now.** Both have been sitting in the protection grid taking a setting and quietly doing nothing. Mob Griefing now stops endermen picking blocks up and putting them down, zombies breaking doors, ravagers wrecking crops and leaves, and withers and the ender dragon chewing through walls. Item Pickup stops players collecting dropped items off the ground. Creeper blasts are still handled by the Explosions flag, since an explosion is an explosion whoever set it off. - **`/ltregion flags` tells you the truth.** It used to list what the region you are standing in had set, and report anything unset as "inherit, default allow" even when a region further out was denying it. It now shows what is actually in effect and names the region that decided it, so you can find the one you forgot about. - **The screens fit smaller windows.** The Admin Compass panel and the region naming screen measure the window and shrink to fit instead of running off the edge, and the search box shrinks along with the panel. - **Region borders no longer smear.** The boxes were being drawn through a render type that joins the corners into one long streak across the world. They draw as proper boxes now. ### Notes - Each Minecraft version is a separate download. Pick the file that matches your game. - Nothing changes for existing worlds. ## Location Tooltip 0.3.1 Fixes from tester feedback on 0.3.0. ### Fixed - **Modded structures now get named.** Structures added by mods are tagged automatically — including modded versions of vanilla structures. Vanilla stays curated so you don't get a region for every mineshaft. Turn it off with `/ltregion structures modded off`, or exclude one with `/ltregion structures disable <id>`. - **Waystones now name their village.** A waystone inside a village gives the village its name — whether it's activated, freshly placed, or renamed later — and anyone standing there sees a message. (Waystones only registers a naturally-generated waystone once a player activates it, which is why this didn't work before.) Renaming the waystone renames the village too, and a village you've renamed by hand is left alone. - **The Master Compass needle works.** It now points to the nearest region, and spins freely when there's nothing nearby. - **The HUD no longer covers boss bars.** When it's positioned at the top-centre it hides itself while a boss bar is on screen. - **Dimensions have their own names.** The Nether now reads "The Nether" and the End reads "The End" instead of "Wilderness". Modded dimensions (Ad Astra and friends) are named automatically from their dimension id. ### Thanks - Everyone who tested 0.3.0 and sent detailed reports. --- *Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu, Cloth Config, and Waystones are optional.*

## Location Tooltip 0.3.0 A big update — region protections, automatic structure naming, optional Waystones support, and a fully redesigned UI. ### New - **Region protection flags** — guard a region with per-flag control (Allow / Deny / Inherit): PvP, block breaking, block placing, interaction, container access, entity interaction, mob spawning, explosions, and fire spread. Flags inherit through nested regions, so an inner region can override the one around it. - **Automatic structure regions** — villages and other landmarks name themselves on your HUD as you explore (Plains Village, Desert Village, Pillager Outpost, Woodland Mansion, Ocean Monument, Ancient City, and more). Fully server-configurable, and it works with modded structures too. - **Waystones integration** (optional) — if you run Waystones, a named waystone inside a structure lends its themed name to that region. - **Redesigned admin panel** — a sleek, searchable region browser with flag icons, color-coded region types, and smooth scrolling. Matching create/edit screens with a visual flag editor. - **New commands** — `/ltregion flag`, `/ltregion flags`, and `/ltregion structures`. ### Fixed - Mob-spawning protection now actually works (its mixin was never being loaded). - Region edit and delete now properly check permissions (operators or the region owner). - `/ltregion create` now uses both selected corners. - HUD corner-style and border options now render correctly. ### Thanks - GambaPVP for the "view all regions" feature. --- *Requires Fabric API. Mod Menu, Cloth Config, and Waystones are optional.*
