It's just a rough draft, to be honest. It wasn't tested properly. There are still a few known bugs. A fixed version will be available soon. It's still listed as beta, though.

# Handwerk 0.16.2 — 26.3 | fixes from a full review Every file in the mod was read through, line by line, and checked against what it actually does in the game. Everything that came out of it is fixed here. In numbers: 140 files touched, 4,176 lines written and 2,221 thrown away — one line taken back out for every two put in, which is about the ratio you want from a release that went looking for mistakes instead of features. ## 🩹 Fixes & tweaks - **Redstone chains had no recipe and dropped nothing.** They sat in the creative tab and nowhere else — break one in survival and it was simply gone. Any chain plus redstone dust now gives the redstone chain of the same kind, and they drop when broken. The "Chain Reaction" advancement is reachable again. - **Waxing a copper lantern or chain now works in the crafting grid.** A honeycomb next to it seals it at the colour it has. Lantern, redstone and honeycomb together does both steps at once. - **Small and large lanterns were the same recipe.** Only one of the two could ever be crafted. The large lantern now takes two ingots and a different shape, so both work. Same for their redstone versions. - **Every copper lantern shared one recipe.** Weathering was ignored, so no matter which one you wanted, you got the same lantern back. Each state has its own conversion recipe now — and adding redstone to an oxidised lantern gives an oxidised redstone lantern, not a shiny new one. - **Copper lanterns asked for a copper block instead of an ingot** on 26.2 and 26.3. Nine times the price for the same lantern. - **The middle copper redstone lantern had the wrong shape** from 26.2 on — the mod's own lantern instead of the vanilla one the small and large variants are built to differ from. All eight weathering stages. - **Weathered copper lanterns can no longer be crafted directly.** Let them age, or wax the colour you want — that is what the weathering is for. Waxed ones stay craftable. - **Dropped the recipe that turned a whole lantern into a smaller one.** It cost more than it gave. - Lantern and chain conversions no longer care where you put the ingredients in the grid. - **Grass stairs and slabs were the wrong green.** Yellower than the grass block they copy, in the inventory and in your hand. They now take their colour from the same place vanilla does, so a resource pack that recolours grass reaches them too. - **Grass stairs and slabs changed colour in one hard step at biome borders** on Fabric, from 26.1 on. They blend across the border now, like the grass around them. - **Upside-down grass stairs showed a seam where two of them met.** The grass edge was a hundredth of a block off-centre, so one stair's edge stood proud of its neighbour's. - **Grass stairs and slabs threw green dirt when you broke them.** The break particles were taking the biome's grass colour even though the particle texture is plain dirt — vanilla's grass block deliberately leaves those particles alone. Fixed on 26.1 and newer; on 1.21.x the older rendering code offers no way to opt out, so it stays green there. - **Crying obsidian slabs and stairs dripped upwards.** The top-half ones shed tears from their top face, which no vanilla crying obsidian does. They now drip from the sides and the underside only, like the full block. - **Hanging lanterns sat a pixel below a vanilla lantern next to them.** The large and small ones now hang at the same height as vanilla's, and the box you see when you aim at them follows the model instead of staying a pixel low. The medium lantern always did this correctly. - **Magnetism took other players' drops.** Anything dropped within three blocks of your block counted as yours — including what someone next to you had just mined or thrown — and once claimed, they could no longer pick it up. It takes only what your own block dropped now, and experience orbs follow the same rule instead of hoovering up any that were lying around. The Lodestar Charm is unchanged and still collects everything. - **Drops no longer sag on the way to you.** They fly straight, which decides whether a vein in a cave ceiling ends up in your inventory or in the lava below. - **Leaving a world while drops were still flying to you kept that world in memory.** Not visible while playing, but it added up over a session of hopping between worlds. - **Ohmega 1.6.0-beta.19 is the build Handwerk expects now** (and 1.5.21 on the older targets). beta.19 reorganised its API, which had switched Handwerk's accessory diagnostics off with a message blaming the wrong version. - **The game could crash on startup when Ohmega was installed.** Ohmega ships two different accessory APIs for the same Minecraft versions, and Handwerk chose between them by game version — install the other line and the mod died while registering its items. It now looks at what is actually there and leaves the accessory integration switched off instead of taking the game down. - **NeoForge: the ore variant advancement could be awarded for a block that was never broken** — if another mod cancelled the break. It needs the drops to actually appear now. - **The ore variant advancement could be earned in creative mode, or with a tool too weak to drop anything** — on Fabric. It is an advancement for *obtaining* an ore variant, so it now asks that you actually got one, which is the rule NeoForge already followed. - **The creative tabs listed everything backwards.** All 225 blocks, in every vanilla tab: the chains stood ahead of the lanterns, waxed oxidised copper ahead of plain, and the ore variants ran cinnabar first instead of granite. - **Lanterns are sorted by size now** — small, medium, large, each followed by its redstone version, and for copper that repeats per weathering stage. The Handwerk tab also shows the vanilla lantern and chain that belong in each row, so nothing is missing between the pieces you build from. - **The harvester scythe replanted for free.** Every harvest handed you the full drop *and* a new plant, so each crop left you one seed ahead of doing it by hand. It now takes a single seed out of that same harvest to replant — nothing is lost by it, the seed stands in the field as the next plant, and you end up exactly where hand-harvesting leaves you. A crop that drops no seed at all leaves the tile bare, the same as breaking it yourself. The old behaviour is one switch away in the config. - **The scythe now clears a whole canopy at once.** Leaves and vines are followed as far as they connect, instead of a 3x3 at a time. Cobwebs and glow lichen keep the small area. - **A single scythe swing could destroy the scythe.** Bamboo and connected leaves were charged one point of durability per block, so a swing into a bamboo field or a canopy cost far more than the tool was worth — a wooden scythe did not survive one of them. A swing now costs at most as much as the area it covers, and a bamboo plant counts as one cut, the way vanilla fells the whole stalk in one break. - **Area tools no longer kept working after they broke.** A shovel with one use left converted all nine blocks; an axe stripped the rest of the tree. Tools can break mid-swing now, the way vanilla tools do — Unbreaking and Mending work on them as usual. - **Blocks in an area swing ignored what they do when they break.** Ice cleared with a shovel's 3x3 left air where breaking it by hand leaves water, and none of the extra blocks counted towards your mined-blocks statistics or cost you any hunger. Every block in the area now breaks exactly like the one you aimed at. - **Tools were held the wrong way round in the off hand.** All thirty of them, in first person and for everyone else watching. - **The community translation pack is now called `handwerk-translations`.** It was `dayofmind-translations`, from back when the mod was named DayOfMind Additions. The old folder stays behind in `resourcepacks/` and can be deleted; it is no longer used. - **The shovel path feature works again on 26.3.** Snapshot 10 turned tool behaviour into a datapack registry, which broke how the mod recognised the shovel. On a 26.3 snapshot older than 10 the feature now switches itself off instead of crashing the game. - **Minecraft's own shovel made a path under a solid block.** On 1.21.x the dirt beneath a grass block flattened anyway, and on 26.3 you could do it standing underneath and aiming upwards. Both follow the vanilla rule again: only with air above, and never from below. - **The lumberjack axe took whole walls apart.** Breaking a single plank in a wooden house followed the connected planks and took twenty-five of them with it. It now follows logs only, the way its tooltip always claimed — crouch while breaking to take everything connected instead. - **A scythe only turned soil into farmland when you aimed at the top of a block.** From the side nothing happened, except on 26.3, where the game's own hoe behaviour quietly stepped in. It now works from every side but the underside, on every version, exactly like a vanilla hoe. - **Two tool tooltips promised something else than the tool does.** The axe claimed to strip logs "in a 3x3 area" and the prospector pickaxe to mine "all ore blocks at once". Both follow the connected blocks instead, as far as the limit in the config allows, and now say so. - **NeoForge: the game crashed after turning a stair into a dirt path.** The conversion went through, then the client went down the moment you stood next to the new block. The path stair asked Minecraft a question it is not allowed to ask on NeoForge; it may now. Fabric was never affected. - **Trapdoors creaked like wood, whatever they were made of.** A deepslate trapdoor swung open on a wooden hinge. They now make the solid clunk Minecraft gives its own stone blocks, pitched to what they are actually made of: stone and brick land heavy, gold and netherite keep the metallic ring of Minecraft's iron trapdoor, and diamond, emerald and amethyst chime above it. Every one of them still opens by hand — no redstone needed. Breaking them and walking on them always sounded right; it was only the hinge that was off. - **Shovels made paths out of blocks a vanilla shovel refuses.** Mud and moss on 1.21.x — and on every version the mod's own mud, moss and mangrove-root stairs and slabs, which went to path while the blocks they are cut from stay put. Vanilla flattens dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, grass, podzol and mycelium and nothing else, so those six and Handwerk's variants of them are what makes a path now — for the plain shovel and for the mod's own tools alike. A variant does what its parent does. **0.16.3 will add a switch** for anyone who wants the wider set back. - **The mod's lanterns and chains now count as lanterns and chains to other mods and data packs.** They sit in `#minecraft:lanterns` and `#minecraft:chains`; Minecraft itself reads neither, but plenty of other things do. - **The name tag recipe is Minecraft's own now.** Handwerk used to add a far dearer one of its own: four string, a sign, a nugget and paper spread across the whole grid. Minecraft has shipped a simple recipe since 26.1.2 — a metal nugget above a sheet of paper — so on those versions the mod's recipe is gone entirely. On 1.21.x, where Minecraft has none, you get that same simple recipe instead of the expensive one. - **The terraformer shovel laid paths you could not see.** Aiming at the underside of a block turned it into a path anyway. Vanilla's shovel refuses to work on a block from below, and now this one does too — including the sneaking version that turns paths back into dirt. - **On 26.3, breaking a shovel in your off hand showed the wrong item breaking.** The animation and the sound belonged to whatever sat in your main hand. What was taken off the durability was always right. - **The vein limit in the config had no bounds at all.** It now sits between 1 and 1024. It is the number of extra blocks a single click may take, and it lands on the server in one tick, so an unbounded value was not a good idea. - **The tooltip on the radius-tool tag left out the harvester scythes**, although they have always been part of it. - **Stairs, slabs and trapdoors of hard materials could be mined with any pickaxe.** An obsidian stair fell to a wooden one and a gold slab to a stone one — and dropped, which the blocks they are made from never do. All fourteen of them now ask for the same tool tier as their material: diamond for obsidian, crying obsidian and netherite, iron for gold, diamond and emerald, stone for iron. - **Magnetism let go of what it was carrying once you moved off.** Drops and experience gave up after 24 blocks and stopped where they were — still reserved for you, so they lay there for nobody. Everything the enchantment gathers now follows you for as long as it exists, however far you have got in the meantime. - **Four item names read like notes, not English.** "Wood Tool Handle" and "Gold Harvester Scythe" are now "Wooden Tool Handle" and "Golden Harvester Scythe", the way Minecraft names its own wooden and golden tools. - **Andesite and blackstone trapdoors could not be crafted.** Their recipe was the same six blocks in two rows that Minecraft uses for the wall of that stone, and the wall won. Twenty-three other stones shared the grid as well and only gave the trapdoor because their recipe happened to be found first. Every trapdoor now takes two columns of three instead — still six blocks, still two trapdoors — and the walls keep their recipe. - **Crying obsidian stairs cried from one side only**, and which side turned with the stair. They shed tears from every side now, like the full block. - **Waxing Handwerk's copper lanterns and chains never counted for "Wax On" or "Wax Off".** Minecraft's two advancements name every block they accept, so only the vanilla lantern and chain counted. Waxing and scraping the mod's copper blocks earns them now too. - **NeoForge: the translation resource pack showed a block of cobblestone** instead of the Handwerk icon in the resource pack list. - **The shovel path toggle in the config described something it does not do.** Its tooltip spoke of switching between grass blocks and dirt paths. What it switches is the shovel turning Handwerk's grass and dirt stairs and slabs into paths, and any path back into dirt while sneaking — and it now says so. ## ⚙️ Technical - **Gradle 9.7.0 → 9.7.1.** Loom 1.17.19, Stonecutter 0.9.7 and Kotlin 2.4.10 are unchanged. - **The 26.3 build targets 26.3-rc-2 now**, up from 26.3-pre-1. Nothing in the mod had to change for it, and the jar keeps loading on every 26.3 from the pre-releases onward — so the release version can simply be added to this file once 26.3 is out. - **26.3**: Fabric API 0.157.1 → 0.160.4 · Trinkets now uses its own 26.3 build (4.2.0) instead of borrowing the 26.2 one - **26.2**: Fabric API 0.155.2 → 0.160.0 · NeoForge 26.2.0.25-beta → 26.2.0.87 · Trinkets 4.1.0-beta.2 → 4.1.0 (out of beta) - **26.1.2**: Fabric API 0.155.2 → 0.155.3 · NeoForge 26.1.2.82 → 26.1.2.109 · Trinkets 4.0.0-beta.3 → 4.0.0 (out of beta) - **1.21.11**: Fabric API 0.141.5 → 0.141.6 ## 🧪 Testing **Played this version and something looked wrong? [Report it here.](https://tally.so/r/2E6qqp)** The form asks for the Minecraft version, the loader and what you did, so it can be reproduced without a round of questions. Reports on any target are welcome — several fixes in this release came out of exactly one such pass.

# Handwerk 0.16.1 — MidnightLib optional, 26.3 snapshots ## ✨ New - **MidnightLib is optional.** It is only needed for the config screen — without it Handwerk runs on its defaults. - **Snapshot builds for Minecraft 26.3**, marked alpha. - **A warning when the installed Ohmega version can lose items put into an accessory slot.** Ohmega 1.6.0-beta.18 is affected in freshly created worlds; leaving and re-entering the world avoids it, and beta.19 fixes it. ## 🩹 Fixes & tweaks - **Sneak + right-click with a shovel turned any block into dirt.** Only paths revert now. This affects every supported version. - Copper lanterns and redstone chains carried a broken serialisation entry. Nothing in normal play used it. ## ⚙️ Technical - **Toolchain**: Gradle 9.7.0, Fabric Loom 1.17.19, Stonecutter 0.9.7. Kotlin stays on 2.4.10. ## 🧪 Testing **I could not test this release thoroughly, and I would rather say so than pretend otherwise.** Only the 26.3 build was played through case by case. On 26.2 (Fabric and NeoForge) and on 1.21.x I started the game and checked the areas I had touched — accessory slots and the Lodestar Charm's magnet — and nothing else. 26.1.2 was built and left at that. This is a matter of time, not of confidence: going through five targets by hand takes longer than I have. The [test protocol](../docs/Handwerk-Test-Protocol.ods) is public and lists every case. If you play Handwerk on 1.21.x, 26.1 or 26.2, findings are very welcome — the shovel bug above came out of exactly one such pass.

# Handwerk 0.16.0 — The Ore Update Ores now look like the rock they grew in. Dig through a granite pocket and you'll find **granite iron ore**; break into the sulfur caves and the ore there is set in sulfur, not in grey stone. It's a small thing you'll notice constantly. ## ✨ New - **Ore Variants** — all eight overworld ores (coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, diamond, emerald) now come embedded in **granite, diorite, andesite and tuff**, plus **sulfur and cinnabar** from the 26.2 sulfur caves. That's **48 new blocks** on 26.2, 32 on the older versions. - **Nothing changes about where ore spawns.** Veins already ran straight through granite, diorite, andesite and tuff — they just placed plain stone ore no matter what they replaced. Now they place the matching block instead. Size, frequency, depth and biome distribution are exactly as before, so your usual mining routes stay just as productive. - **They behave like the ore they are.** Same hardness, same pickaxe tier, same drops, same experience, same Fortune and Silk Touch behaviour. The **Prospector Pickaxe** follows veins through them, and other mods that check for "iron ore" recognise them too. - **Sulfur caves are the one real gain.** Sulfur and cinnabar were never valid ore hosts, so veins skipped straight over them and left those pockets barren. They're part of the rotation now. - **Resource-pack friendly.** The rock itself uses the plain vanilla texture, so any pack that restyles granite, tuff or sulfur carries over to the ore variants automatically. - **New advancement: *Know Your Rock*** — awarded the first time you mine an ore that sits in granite, diorite, andesite, tuff, sulfur or cinnabar. It joins the Handwerk tab next to the other block advancements. - **Tidier creative menu** — **Lanterns**, **Trapdoors** and the new **Ore Variants** each moved into their own tab. The general *Handwerk Blocks* tab had grown to several hundred entries and was getting hard to browse. Everything still appears next to its vanilla counterpart in the normal tabs, too. ## 🩹 Fixes - **Handwerk no longer crashes on startup with recent Ohmega builds.** Ohmega 1.6.0-beta.18 began rejecting API calls made before its own start-up, and since the load order puts Handwerk first, the Lodestar Charm's accessory binding tripped over it — the game never got past loading. **This hit 0.15.4 as well**, so if Handwerk suddenly stopped launching for you after updating Ohmega, that was why. Digging into it turned up the real cause: Handwerk had been registering the charm the wrong way round for as long as the integration existed. Ohmega's API expects an item you own to simply *be* an accessory, and it picks that up by itself — no registration call, and nothing that could run at the wrong moment. The charm now works that way, so **the accessory slot works on beta.17 and beta.18 alike**. - **Every tool that breaks more than one block respects your enchantments again.** Only the block you actually hit was ever mined *with your tool* — everything the hammer, the excavator or the prospector pickaxe took beyond it was broken as if by nobody, so **Silk Touch and Fortune silently stopped at the first block**. Silk Touch gave you ore instead of the block it should have preserved, Fortune multiplied nothing, and the experience Silk Touch is supposed to suppress dropped anyway. Now every block in the area or the vein drops exactly as the first one does. This has been in for as long as those tools have, on every version. (The scythe was always correct and is unaffected.) - **The Prospector Pickaxe follows a vein through changing rock.** It used to stop dead the moment the surrounding stone changed — most noticeably in the sulfur caves, where a copper vein would break into unconnected fragments. It now follows the *ore*, not the block, so a vein that runs from stone through granite into sulfur comes out in one go. This fixes the old stone/deepslate boundary too, where the same thing quietly happened all along. Separate deposits stay separate: copper never chains into the iron vein next to it. - **An optional integration can no longer take the game down.** Trinkets, Ohmega and anything similar now run isolated: if one of them changes its API from under us, you lose that one feature and get a line in the log instead of a crash screen. ## 🔮 Coming in 0.17 — Vertical Slabs Vertical Slabs were announced for this release and **didn't make it**. Sorry about that — the ore work turned out to be the bigger win, so it got priority, and I'd rather ship slabs properly than half-done. They're still very much on the list for **0.17**. Thanks for your patience! 🙇 ## ⚙️ Technical - Ore variants register in the **`minecraft` namespace** (`minecraft:granite_iron_ore`). If Mojang ever ships this officially, the IDs line up and existing worlds convert cleanly instead of ending up with orphaned blocks. - Rendering uses a **two-layer model**: the plain vanilla host-rock texture with a cut-out ore overlay on top. Eight overlay textures cover all 48 blocks, which is what keeps resource-pack compatibility intact. - Tags, drops, experience and the worldgen features are all **derived from the vanilla ore** at data-generation time rather than hand-written, so a future vanilla rebalance is picked up automatically instead of drifting apart quietly. - Worldgen extends the 16 vanilla overworld ore features with one host-rock target each. Since targets are matched in order and the added ones are more specific, they only decide *which* block is placed — never whether one is placed. - **Compatibility note:** extending a vanilla feature means the last datapack to load wins. **Terralith** rewrites `ore_diamond_medium` as well, so with both installed only one of the two takes effect there. Every other ore feature is unaffected. --- 💬 Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — join us on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. Thanks for playing! ⚒️

# Handwerk 0.15.4 — NeoForge Handwerk now runs natively on **NeoForge**, alongside its existing Fabric builds — no Sinytra or Connector required. This release also polishes a few things that every build benefits from. ## ✨ New - **Native NeoForge support** for Minecraft 26.1 and 26.2. It's a first-class jar, tested to play exactly like the Fabric version. (The 1.21.x line stays Fabric-only.) ## 🩹 Fixes & tweaks - **The Lodestar Charm gets a proper accessory slot again.** With **Trinkets** (and its forks) a necklace slot now shows up for the charm — previously none ever appeared. It also works with **Ohmega** on every version now. - **The Harvester Scythe clears sugar cane, bamboo and cactus across its whole area** again, not just the single stalk you click. - **Hanging redstone lanterns render correctly.** The hanging variants were there but showed the wrong model. - **Redstone lanterns and redstone chains moved to the Redstone tab.** They now sit next to the redstone lamp in the creative menu instead of with the plain lanterns and chains. (Plain lanterns still live with the vanilla lantern.) - **The *VeinBlocks Amount* setting takes effect immediately** instead of only after a restart. - **The *Enable Shovel Path Toggle* config option is respected again** — turning it off previously did nothing. ## 🧪 Testers welcome This is Handwerk's first NeoForge release, so extra hands are appreciated. Handwerk now ships a full **test protocol** — a version- and loader-aware checklist covering every feature, with the exact in-game commands and expected results (`docs/Handwerk-Test-Protocol.ods` in the [repository](https://codeberg.org/OxFaTech/Handwerk)). If you'd like to help verify builds — especially the new NeoForge ones — run through it on your setup and share the results on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. ## ⚙️ Technical - **Multi-loader architecture.** All loader-specific runtime code now sits behind an internal platform layer. The NeoForge jar re-packages the same compiled game code (26.x is unobfuscated) with NeoForge entrypoints, data maps for copper oxidation, and an access transformer. - Removed a few stray Ohmega files the 26.1 build had accidentally bundled during development, which could otherwise shadow Ohmega's own files. - Loosened the version bounds on the *suggested* companion mods (Sodium, Iris, Mod Menu); the old bounds pointed at outdated 1.21.4-era versions. - **Dependency refresh**: Fabric API 0.155.2 (26.x) / 0.141.5 (1.21.11) and Kotlin 2.4.10 — **Fabric Language Kotlin ≥ 1.13.13** is now required (your launcher updates this automatically). NeoForge builds use **Kotlin for Forge**. --- 💬 Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — join us on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. Thanks for playing! ⚒️

# Handwerk 0.15.3 — A New Name **DayOfMind Additions is now Handwerk** (German for "craftsmanship") — same mod, same team, new name and a sharper focus on what it's always been about: practical vanilla-style tools that do the work for you. Nothing about how the mod plays changes: item IDs are untouched, so existing worlds and inventories are unaffected — no re-crafting, no backup needed. ## 🏷️ Rebranding - **New name**: "DayOfMind Additions" → **Handwerk**. You'll see it in your mod list, the creative tabs, the config screen and the advancement tab. - **New tagline**: "Vanilla-style tools that do the work for you: AoE hammer & shovel, vein miner, tree feller, harvester scythe. Plus tool upgrades, magnet enchantments & a full building palette — slabs, stairs, trapdoors, lanterns, redstone chains." - **Source moved to Codeberg** — now hosted at [codeberg.org/OxFaTech/Handwerk](https://codeberg.org/OxFaTech/Handwerk) (previously on GitHub as DayOfMind-Additions); the in-game mod menu link points there now. - **New Discord invite** — the old invite had expired; join via the mod menu or **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. ## ✨ Tweaks - Slightly resized and repositioned the redstone badge icon (added in 0.15.2) for a cleaner look at small inventory sizes. ## ⚙️ Technical - Uploads are now also tagged **Quilt**-compatible alongside Fabric, so Quilt users can find Handwerk on Modrinth/CurseForge too (Quilt loads Fabric mods; not separately tested each release, but compatible as a rule). --- 💬 Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — join us on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. # DayOfMind Additions 0.15.2 — Copper & Redstone Polish A small polish release for the lantern lovers: proper oxidation looks on 1.21.x and a long-missing way to tell redstone variants apart at a glance. ## 🐛 Fixes - **Copper redstone lanterns now show their oxidation stages on Minecraft 1.21.9 – 1.21.11.** All eight variants (exposed, weathered, oxidized and their waxed twins) used to look like the plain copper lantern there — they now use the matching vanilla lantern look, just like on 26.x. ## ✨ Tweaks - **Redstone chains and lanterns wear a redstone badge in the inventory.** Redstone variants share their block look with the regular chains and lanterns, so nothing told them apart in your inventory. Their icons now show a small redstone-dust marker in the lower-right corner — only in the GUI; in your hand and placed in the world everything looks the same as before. - **Slimmer jars.** Some files from optional test mods had sneaked into the released jars during data generation; they are now filtered out. --- 💬 Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — join us on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. Thanks for playing! ⚒️

# DayOfMind Additions 0.15.0 — The Tools Update The biggest update yet: a complete tool rework, a tier‑upgrade system, two signature enchantments, an item magnet and a dedicated advancement tab — now on **Minecraft 26.2**. > ### ⚠️ Gamebreaking change — please read > Several tools were **renamed** (new item IDs), so tools crafted in older versions will **disappear from your inventory** after updating and must be **re‑crafted**. **Back up your world** before loading it with this version. > > `big_%material_shovel → %material_terraformer_shovel` · `big_%material_axe → %material_lumberjack_axe` · `vein_%material_pickaxe → %material_prospector_pickaxe` --- ## ✨ New tools & rework - **🌾 Harvester Scythe** *(new tool)* — right‑click to harvest & replant mature crops, harvest melons & pumpkins, mow grass/ferns/flowers/wildflowers/firefly bush, shear vines/leaves/cobwebs/glow lichen, cut sugar cane/bamboo/cactus, and till farmland — all context‑aware. - **Reworked models & textures** for the Terraformer Shovel, Hammer, Lumberjack Axe and Prospector Pickaxe (Blockbench sources in the repo). - **🪓 Smart stripping** — the Lumberjack Axe now strips **connected** logs (not a fixed radius), with dynamic support for modded wood. - **⛏️ Smarter vein mining** — the Prospector Pickaxe follows connected ore veins more reliably, including many modded ores. ## ♻️ Tool progression & reforging - **Reforging Rune** *(new item)* — upgrade an **Iron or Gold** tool to **Diamond**, carrying its enchantments and durability across. - **Netherite upgrades** — promote Diamond tools to Netherite with a vanilla smithing template (Netherite is upgrade‑only now). - **Rebalance** — reworked durability, a cheaper shovel recipe, and an anvil‑repair fix so tools no longer repair each other for scraps. ## 🌟 Signature enchantments - **Wide Reach** *(I–II)* — widens the area of the radius tools (and the Lodestar Charm's pull). - **Magnetism** *(I–II)* — sends the drops from blocks you mine or harvest **straight to you** (never a general vacuum); **level II** also pulls in the experience. Works on the mod's tools **and** vanilla mining tools. - Both come with **description tooltips** on tools *and* enchanted books, and are listed in the mod's "Magics" creative tab. ## 🧲 Lodestar Charm *(new item)* A mystical trinket that draws nearby dropped items — and experience — to you. - Works while held in your **off hand**. - Optional accessory‑slot support via **Ohmega** or **Trinkets Updated**. - **Enchantable** with Wide Reach to extend its pull radius. ## 🏆 Advancements *(new)* A dedicated **DayOfMind Additions** advancement tab: the tool families, the Reforging Rune, a Netherite challenge, a redstone‑building chain (Chain Reaction → Signal Fire → First Circuit) and the "Decorative Gardener". ## 🐛 Fixes & quality of life - Fixed vein mining only breaking a single block in **creative mode**. - Removed the disruptive mid‑session **translation resource reload** (community translations now apply on the next launch). - Block variants are now **always registered** (dropped the enable/disable config toggles). - Broader vanilla + modded **ore tag** coverage. ## ⚙️ Technical - **Ported to Minecraft 26.2** (also builds for 26.1), on **Java/Kotlin 25**. - Migrated the codebase from **Yarn to official Mojang mappings**. - Copper lantern/chain textures are now driven from the weathering‑collection state instead of id‑string parsing. - Updated Fabric API, Loader, MidnightLib, JEI and Jade. --- 💬 Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — join us on **[Discord](https://discord.gg/juxu5Jrrdk)**. Hey @everyone 👋 A new Alpha build (Build 90) for the Tool Rework is now available! This update focuses on making our specialized tools much smarter, more efficient, and better at interacting with other mods. ✨ **What's New:** * ⛏️ **Advanced Vein Mining:** The Prospector Pickaxe is now significantly more efficient! I've overhauled the logic to ensure it correctly identifies connected blocks—especially those from other mods that were previously missed. * 🪓 **Smart Stripping:** The Lumberjack Axe has been upgraded. Instead of a simple radius (AoE), it now uses a connected-block algorithm to strip logs. It’s more precise and includes a dynamic lookup for improved compatibility with modded wood types. * 💎 **Comprehensive Ore Support:** Updated the internal block tags to include a wider range of vanilla and common modded ores. * 🐛 **Creative Mode Fix:** Resolved an issue where vein mining would only break a single block in creative mode by ensuring tool tiers are now correctly respected. ⚙️ **Technical Upgrades:** * **Engine Update:** Ported to Minecraft 26.1.1 and upgraded to Java/Kotlin 25. * **Mappings Migration:** The entire codebase has been migrated from Yarn to official Mojang mappings (MojMaps). * **Dependency Bump:** Updated Fabric API, Loader, MidnightLib, and Jade to the latest versions for better stability. As always, your feedback is crucial—especially regarding the efficiency of the new mining and stripping logic. Let me know what you think in the thread! ⚒️✨

# DayOfMind Additions v0.14.4-BETA (Minecraft 1.21.x) This beta release is packed with new tools, a completely overhauled translation system, and numerous under-the-hood improvements to enhance the gameplay experience and mod maintainability. ### ✨ Features & New Additions * **New Vein Mining Tools:** * **Vein Mining Pickaxe:** A new tool designed specifically to mine entire ore veins at once. It intelligently targets connected ore blocks while ignoring stone, allowing for precise and efficient extraction. * **Vein Mining Axe (Lumberjack Axe):** Fells entire trees in a single swing! It breaks all connected logs and leaves. Additionally, it can strip logs in an Area of Effect (AoE) with a right-click. * **Fast Leaf Decay:** * Leaves from felled trees now decay almost instantly. This feature is enabled by default and can be configured or disabled in the settings (`EnableFastLeafDecay`, `LeafDecayDelay`). * **Completely Reworked Translation System:** * The mod now automatically and efficiently downloads community translations from a single, centralized source. * The frequency of the update check can be configured to minimize load (e.g., only on every 3rd game launch). * The new process is more robust and easier to maintain, resulting in more up-to-date and consistent translations for all players. * **Radius Mining in Creative Mode:** * The AoE functionality of Hammers and other radius-mining tools now works seamlessly in Creative Mode, just as it does in Survival. ### 🔧 Improvements & Adjustments * **Overhauled Crafting Recipes:** * The recipes for all custom tools have been completely redesigned to be more distinct and balanced. * The required secondary materials have been adjusted to improve progression (e.g., Lead for stone tools, Amethyst Shards for iron tools). * Recipes for all lantern types have been optimized, and all are now craftable. * **Improved Naming & Tooltips:** * Tool names have been standardized to match vanilla patterns (e.g., "Wooden Hammer"). * The naming convention for blocks made from common materials has been improved for better consistency (e.g., "Stairs of Diamond" instead of "Diamond Stairs"). * Added tooltips for the new vein mining tools and optimized the display for radius-mining tools to take up less UI space. ### 🐛 Bugfixes * **Path Stairs Collision Fixed:** Path Stairs are climbable again. The collision issue has been resolved. ### ⚙️ Technical & Code Structure * **Item System Refactoring:** The registration for all tools has been greatly simplified through a new, flexible `ToolItem` base class and the introduction of `ToolTypes` and `MiningTypes` enums. This reduces code duplication and makes it easier to add new tool types in the future. * **Centralized Logic:** Common functionalities, such as the block-breaking logic, have been moved to the `ToolItem` base class to increase reusability. * **Code Cleanup:** Minor refactorings, like encapsulating the `AttackBlockCallback` logic and moving helper classes, improve overall code quality. * **Dependencies Updated:** Project dependencies have been updated to their latest versions.
