Что нового
## 0.3.0
- FlectonePulse integration moved to the stable API (1.14.1).
- Messages are passed to FlectonePulse in a cleaner form.
- The integration now keeps working if FlectonePulse starts late or is restarted.
- Color and tag parsing fixes.
- `<primary>`, `<secondary>` and `<fcolor:N>` now close correctly, and legacy, hex and 3-digit colors are accepted.
- Placeholder values inside hover and click tags are escaped properly.
- Theme colors set to `<fcolor:N>` (the default way to use the plugin with FlectonePulse) no longer show up as literal `<fcolor:1>` text in messages or break formatting.
- Faster joins. Username lookups are indexed, the join-time database reads are combined into a single query, and redundant username writes are skipped. An automatic schema migration runs on first start.
- Offline PlaceholderAPI lookups no longer block the server thread.
- Cleaner console:
- Failures are now logged as a single line with the root cause. Identical errors are limited to one per minute, and full stack traces only appear at FINE log level.
- The FlectonePulse status output is collapsed into one line, and startup, migration and update messages are tidier.
- The "No SLF4J providers" banner and the database pool start/stop lines are gone.
- Config backups made before a migration now go into a backups/ folder. Old *.backup_* files are moved there automatically on startup.
## 0.2.10
- Fixed: a syntax error in a YAML file (bad indentation, an unclosed quote) no longer causes a raw stack trace on startup. You get a readable error message instead.
- Fixed: /flectonegrowth reload now tells you when it fails. Before, it failed silently.
- Fixed: quitting and rejoining quickly could corrupt a player's last-seen time. That could make a later reload count the whole offline gap as played time.
- Fixed: two reloads running at the same time could leak a database connection pool. Reloads now run one at a time.
- Changed: changing network.sync-enabled needs a full restart. The plugin now warns about this on reload instead of silently doing nothing.
- Fixed: cross-server scale sync is now clamped to the receiving server's min/max. Before, a server with different limits could apply an out-of-range scale to a player.
## 0.2.9
- Player-facing messages gained hover tooltips and clickable actions:
- The `/growth summary` header can be clicked to run it again.
- The "reloaded" message can be clicked to run reload again.
- The update-available link is now clickable and opens the download page.
## 0.2.8
- FlectonePulse is now pinned to the official 1.12.2 release instead of a snapshot build.
- Fixed: clickable and hover messages (such as the command-syntax hint) work again on non-Paper servers (Spigot/CraftBukkit). Clicking a hint now inserts only the command itself, for example `/growth summary` .
- Fixed: after a Mojang name change, a username could still resolve to its previous owner.
- Fixed: `%flectonegrowth_gender%` and the reload timing unit now use each viewer's own client language.
## 0.2.7
- `/growth summary|height|gender <target>` now work for offline players. Just type their username.
- Command-syntax hints are clickable. Clicking one fills your chat input with the correct command.
- Finished the per-player language fix: PlaceholderAPI height-unit and remaining-time placeholders, and the unit label in `/growth height`, now use the viewer's own client language.
- Database change: player UUIDs and usernames are now kept in one dedicated table. Upgrading migrates automatically on first start.
- Back up your database before upgrading. MySQL and MariaDB can't roll back a failed table change, so a failure partway through could leave a table half-migrated.
## 0.2.6
- `/growth summary|height|gender` now show the gender name and remaining growth time in the viewer's own client language.
- Offline-player lookups through PlaceholderAPI are cached briefly, which reduces database load for leaderboard and hologram
- Chunks are no longer force-loaded when checking for blocks around a player at a chunk border.
## 0.2.5
- `/flectonegrowth migrate playtime` (alias /fg migrate playtime) is a new admin command. It imports every known player's vanilla play-time statistic into FlectoneGrowth's tracking, adding to existing records instead of overwriting them.
- Command help reworked.
- Invalid syntax now shows a short hint for the command you were typing. It no longer lists every sibling command, including ones you lack permission for.
- `/flectonegrowth` help is removed.
- Permission-denied attempts and command errors now give feedback instead of silence.
- The reload alias is now `/fg`, not `/pg`.
- `/height`'s argument is now named `<type>` instead of `<meters>`.
## 0.2.4
- Command output is sent as one message. `/growth summary|height|gender` now arrive as a single chat message instead of one message per line.
- Added clickable command syntax hints.
- Fixed: the update notice linked to the wrong URL in the language files. It now points to the GitHub tags page.
## 0.2.3
- Configurable database table prefix and connection parameters. The new storage.database.table-prefix and storage.database.params options let several servers share one MySQL, MariaDB or H2 database without their tables colliding. Existing tables are renamed automatically when
you switch to a custom prefix.
- Safer config and storage writes.
- player_data.yml and config files are written atomically, so a crash can't leave a truncated file.
- A migration won't rewrite a file if its backup copy failed.
- Custom table prefixes no longer break schema migrations.
- Multi-step database upgrades can't be left half-applied.
- Changing the database host, port, credentials, table prefix or pool settings now takes effect on reload. Before, it needed
- Fixed: a player could briefly be scaled to full size right after joining, before their data finished loading.
- Fixed: a reload could cause errors in operations that were still running.
- Performance: the check for blocks that stop growth is cached per block position, so standing still no longer re-scans every tick.
- Config backups are now named name.yml.backup_<date_hh_mm>, for example config.yml.backup_2026-07-29_14-05.
- The project is renamed from PlayerGrowth to FlectoneGrowth and updated for the latest FlectonePulse. Old database tables are migrated automatically.
- The update checker now links to GitHub tags.
- The README is rewritten with a full feature overview.
## 0.2.2
- New integrations.yml lets you switch each integration on or off per module.
- Config migrations keep your YAML comments (config, gender and translation files).
- Fixed: you can now set a custom height exactly at the displayed minimum or maximum value.

- **Config files keep their comments after an update.** Upgrading the
plugin used to lose every explanatory comment in `config.yml`/`gender.yml`
when they were automatically updated to the new version's shape - your
settings were always kept, just not the comments describing them. They're
now preserved.
- **Translation files now keep your edits across updates too**, instead of
being fully replaced by the new bundled translation on every upgrade -
any wording you customized in `messages_en.yml`/`messages_ru.yml` stays
put, and newly added messages are still added automatically. (One
tradeoff: if a future update improves the wording of a message you've
already customized, you won't get that improvement automatically anymore -
delete the file to get the fresh version if you want it.)
- **Fixed being unable to set your height to a value the plugin itself just
showed you.** `/height` displays its min/max limits rounded to 2 decimal
places; typing that exact displayed value back could be rejected due to
rounding, e.g. a configured minimum of `0.3` displayed as `0.56` m, but
`/height 0.56` could fail. Setting your height to the displayed limit now
always works.
- **New `integrations.yml` file** lets you turn off individual integrations
(or just part of one) without removing the other plugin - e.g. disable
PlaceholderAPI support entirely, or keep FlectonePulse's server-id/message
routing but turn off just its color-palette matching. Everything defaults
to on, so nothing changes unless you edit this file.

- **Messages now show in each player's own client language** instead of a
single language for the whole server - if a translation for a player's
client locale isn't bundled, they fall back to the language set in
`config.yml` (as before).
- **PlaceholderAPI placeholders now work for offline players**, not just
players currently online - useful for leaderboard/hologram plugins that
query offline players' height, gender, or growth progress.
- **Simplified network playtime settings.** The old `network.blocklist`
(a list every server on the network had to keep in sync) is replaced by
two settings each server sets for itself: whether to track its own
playtime separately (`network.per-server`) and whether its playtime
counts toward growth at all (`network.include-server`). Existing installs
are migrated automatically - a server that was previously blocklisted
keeps behaving the same way.
- **More reliable diagnostics** when FlectonePulse is installed - a single
consolidated health-check now logs the status of server-id detection,
theme-color matching, and message dispatch on startup/reload, instead of
each one failing silently on its own.

Что нового
## v0.2.0
Version housekeeping release. Includes everything listed under v0.1.7
below - no additional changes on top of it.
---
## v0.1.7
- **Growth now stays consistent across your whole server network**, not
just on whichever server a player happens to be standing on - when you
run multiple servers sharing one network (with server sync turned on),
a player's growth progress is tracked centrally instead of separately on
each server.
- If you only run a single server, nothing changes for you.
- New setting: a "blocklist" for servers (like a hub or lobby) whose
playtime shouldn't count toward growth - so idling in a lobby doesn't
help a player grow.
- **Supports a wider range of server versions.** The plugin previously
required the very latest Minecraft server version to even load; it now
works on older servers too (back to Minecraft 1.20.5), while still fully
supporting the newest versions.
---
## v0.1.6
- **Fixed two crashes** that could happen on server startup or when using
plugin commands if FlectonePulse wasn't installed. PlayerGrowth now works
correctly whether or not FlectonePulse is present.
---
## v0.1.5
- Internal cleanup and code organization improvements. No changes to how
the plugin looks, feels, or behaves for players or server owners.
---
## v0.1.4
- **One universal plugin file now supports every common server type**
(Spigot, CraftBukkit, Paper, and Purpur) - if you were previously using a
separate Paper-only version, switch to the standard version on your next
update; everything works the same, including full support for nicer
in-game text on Paper/Purpur servers.
- **Added a shorter command alias**: `/pg` now works anywhere `/playergrowth`
does (e.g. `/pg reload`, `/pg help`).
- **Added an automatic update checker.** The plugin now checks for new
versions on startup, logs a note in the console if one is available, and
can notify operators in-game the next time they join. This can be turned
off in the config if you'd rather not be notified.
---
## v0.1.3
- **Reloading the plugin no longer freezes the server**, even briefly -
reloading is now smooth and also tells you how long it took.
- **Translations now update properly when you upgrade the plugin.** Before,
only brand-new messages were added on upgrade; existing message text and
colors could get stuck on old wording. Now the full translation always
updates to match the new version (your own custom settings in the main
config are still preserved).
- **Chat messages now match FlectonePulse's own styling more closely** when
FlectonePulse is installed, including working correctly with things like
Discord bridges.
---
## v0.1.2
- **Deeper FlectonePulse integration** - the plugin now talks to
FlectonePulse directly instead of guessing settings from its files,
making server-identification more reliable on networks.
- **Added customizable theme colors.** You can now set your own primary and
secondary colors for PlayerGrowth's messages from the config, and the
plugin can also match FlectonePulse's own configured colors automatically.
- **Fixed colored text gradients showing as a single flat color** instead
of a proper gradient on some servers.
- The config file was reorganized for clarity; existing installs are
updated automatically - nothing you need to do manually.
---
## v0.1.1
- **Rebuilt the plugin's internal foundations** for better long-term
stability and easier future updates. This is an under-the-hood change and
doesn't affect how the plugin looks or plays.
- **Added a read-only API** so other plugins on your server can read a
player's height, gender, and growth progress directly, without needing
PlaceholderAPI as a middle step.

## v0.1.5
**Cleanup/refactor release — no user-facing behavior changes, no config/permission changes.**
- **Extracted `Notifier`**, a reusable base class for any feature that
sends an in-game notification gated by a permission node plus a
live-checked "is this enabled right now" flag. `UpdateNotifier` (the
update-check feature from v0.1.4) is its first user. `Notifier` lives in
`core`, built on the platform-agnostic `PlatformPlayer`/`PlayerGrowthCore`
rather than Bukkit's `CommandSender` — any future platform module could
reuse it as-is.
- Sends via `messages().get(...)` directly rather than through
`minecraft/bukkit`'s FlectonePulse-dispatch entry point: a plugin-update
notice has no business being relayed through FlectonePulse's own
pipeline (e.g. a Discord bridge) just because the recipient is online.
- **Redundancy cleanup**, following a full audit of the codebase for
duplicated logic:
- `GrowthEngine.effectiveScale(PlatformPlayer)` replaces a
"current-scale-or-minimum" computation that had been copy-pasted into
four different call sites (a command, the PlaceholderAPI hook, and the
public API implementation).
- `PlayerGrowthCore.genderDisplayName(...)` replaces a gender
display-name lookup that had been copy-pasted into five call sites.
- `CommandGuards.requirePlayer` centralizes the "this command needs an
online player, not console" check, previously duplicated (and
inconsistently — one copy existed as an unused private helper) across
three command classes.
- `SchemaVersionStore` extracts the schema-version read/compare/
migrate/write bookkeeping that the H2 and MySQL/MariaDB storage
backends each carried as separate, nearly-identical implementations.
Verified against a live H2 database (fresh install and reopen of an
existing database) after the change.
- Minor: dropped a noisy `<fcolor:N>` diagnostic log line that printed the
full resolved color map on every startup/reload.
---
## v0.1.4
**Architecture consolidation + two new features.**
- **Merged the `minecraft/paper` module into `minecraft/bukkit`.** A full
audit found the *only* genuine Paper-only API the separate Paper module
used was Brigadier-native command registration (`CommandSourceStack`) —
and Cloud's ordinary `CommandSender`-based command manager already works
identically on Paper, so that split bought nothing but double the
maintenance. The other apparent Paper-only behavior — sending native
Adventure `Component`s instead of legacy-formatted strings — was never
actually gated on the Paper API either; it's now a runtime capability
check (does this server's `CommandSender` implement Adventure's
`Audience`?) with no separate build required.
- **Practical effect:** one plugin jar (`PlayerGrowth-Bukkit-<version>.jar`)
now covers Spigot, CraftBukkit, Paper, and Purpur. If you were
previously running the Paper-specific jar, switch to the Bukkit jar on
your next upgrade — it behaves identically and still gets native
message delivery on Paper/Purpur automatically.
- **Added a `/pg` alias** for `/playergrowth` — `/pg reload` and `/pg help`
now work exactly like their `/playergrowth` equivalents.
- **Added an update checker.** On startup, PlayerGrowth checks this
project's GitHub repository for a newer release; if one exists, it logs
a console warning and notifies online players holding
`playergrowth.update-notify` (default: op) the next time they join.
- New config key: `update-checker.enabled` (default `true`) — set to
`false` to disable both the console warning and the in-game
notification. Existing installs pick up this key automatically on
upgrade.
- New permission: `playergrowth.update-notify` (default: op).
---
## v0.1.3
**Reliability and integration-depth release.**
- **`/playergrowth reload` no longer blocks the main thread.** Reading
config/localization files and reconnecting to the database now happen
off the main thread; only the final step (restarting the growth ticker,
refreshing already-online players) touches Bukkit's API and runs
synchronously. A reload that previously could stall the server for a
moment (especially on a slow DB reconnect) no longer does.
- The reload command now reports back how long it took, formatted as
seconds to three decimal places (e.g. `0.042s`).
- **Database schema version unified with the plugin's own version.**
Previously an independent integer counter; now the same semver string
`config.yml` already tracks. A migration step widens the existing
version column automatically for upgrading installs.
- **Localization files are now replaced wholesale on upgrade** (after a
timestamped backup) instead of merged. Previously, only *new* message
keys reached an upgrading install — if a release changed the wording or
color tags of an *existing* message, that change silently never reached
anyone who'd already installed the plugin. Now translation updates
actually land. (`config.yml`/`gender.yml` still use the merge behavior,
since those carry admin customization that must be preserved.)
- **Messages now route through FlectonePulse's own pipeline** when the
recipient is an online player FlectonePulse is already tracking — so
`<fcolor:N>` and delivery match how FlectonePulse's own messages behave,
instead of PlayerGrowth reimplementing that formatting itself. Falls
back to PlayerGrowth's own rendering for console senders or whenever
FlectonePulse isn't installed/ready.
---
## v0.1.2
**FlectonePulse integration + theming + config restructure.**
- **FlectonePulse server-ID resolution now uses FlectonePulse's real Java
API** (`FlectonePulseAPI` → `FileFacade`) instead of re-parsing its
`config.yml` off disk, with the old file-read approach kept only as a
fallback for older/unreachable FlectonePulse versions.
- **Added `<primary>`/`<secondary>` theme-color tags** (configurable via
`config.yml`'s `colors.*`) and `<fcolor:N>` support (FlectonePulse's own
configured color palette), so every bundled message can be reskinned
from one place, and stays visually consistent with FlectonePulse's own
colors when it's installed.
- **Fixed a real bug where color gradients collapsed to a single flat
color** on plain Spigot/CraftBukkit (non-Paper) servers — the legacy
text serializer used only the 16 basic legacy colors instead of full
RGB, so a gradient like FlectonePulse's default `<fcolor:1>` rendered
as one solid color instead of a gradient. Fixed by using full hex-color
legacy serialization.
- **Added a diagnostics log** reporting exactly why `<fcolor:N>` isn't
resolving when it doesn't (FlectonePulse not installed, its API not
ready yet, or its fcolor module disabled in its own config), instead of
failing silently with no way to tell which case applied.
- **Restructured `config.yml`:** the old separate `config-version` and
`plugin-version` keys were merged into one `version` field (the
plugin's own semver, which also now drives config migration), and the
`server` identifier moved from nested under `network.*` to a top-level
key. Existing installs are migrated automatically; nothing to do
manually.

## New features
- **Gradual growth over played time**, from a configurable minimum to a
gender-aware maximum, linearly interpolated — driven by actual minutes
played, not wall-clock time, and pausable while a player is boxed in by
solid blocks.
- **Fixed or randomized growth duration.** A single configured duration for
everyone, or (if a min/max range is set) a random per-player target
assigned on first join and persisted across restarts.
- **Configurable gender types.** Add, rename, or alias as many gender types
as needed, each with an independent max height cap, or disable the system
entirely for one shared cap.
- **Manual height overrides**, settable by a player for themselves or by an
admin for another player, which take precedence over the growth curve
until removed.
- **Optional cross-server sync**, relaying custom-scale and gender changes
between backend servers on a proxied network sharing one database, so
changes apply immediately instead of only after a reconnect.
- **Configurable storage**: H2 (default, zero setup), MySQL, MariaDB, or
plain YAML.
- **PlaceholderAPI integration**, expanded over the course of this rewrite
from 5 to 14 placeholders — current/min/max height (meters and raw
scale), gender, growth percentage, formatted and raw time remaining, and
custom-scale status. `/papi info playergrowth` now documents all of them
and shows the plugin's correct display name and author casing
(`PlayerGrowth` / `MISQZY`), instead of an empty placeholder list and the
raw lowercase identifier.
- **Localized, MiniMessage-formatted messages**, bundled in English and
Russian, with more locales addable by dropping in another
`messages_<locale>.yml`.
- **FlectonePulse interoperability**: if FlectonePulse is installed,
PlayerGrowth reuses its server identifier automatically so the two
plugins never disagree about which backend server they're each on.

# Features
- Add data storage types support: YAML, H2, MYSQL, MARIADB
- Ingame displays height rescale (1.0 = 1.88m)
- Customizeble runtime player growth updater (Default: true).
- Checking for player growth potential near the surrounding environments.
- Range mod for growth time (min and max values)
- Customizable players genders. Default types: male, female.
- Gender now affects on player's max height.
# Migration
The plugin will attempt to create a new `config.yml`, first saving a copy of the old file. As a last resort, delete config.yml and reload the plugin to generate a fresh one.
To update the localization keys, delete the `lang` folder and reload the plugin.
# Road map
At this point, the plugin covers most of the features I planned to implement; future work will focus on optimizing and refactoring the existing code in preparation for the release version.
