Fire
We've watched it, played with it, and shouted angrily at it in Minecraft since the early early days. But it's not great, behaves badly, takes things from us and doesn't give back… so what if it could be something better?
This is BURNT. A Vanilla fire enhancing mod, if you light it, it will burn… Not disappear… BURN. In return, wooden structures and trees remain, burnt and twisted, and with resources you can use.
Finally a good use for the flint and steel.
Start a FIRE
- Light a block with flint and steel
- Fire an arrow from a FLAME enchanted bow
- Set a FIRE BARREL and stand back
- Explode a creeper with flame arrows
- Pour on some LAVA
- Lightning strikes
Watch it BURN
- Blocks smolder, blaze, spread, and burn
- Smoke, ember, and ash effects
- Distant smoke plumes
- Integrated WIND SYSTEM controls the direction and intensity of a fire
- Read the wind with FLAGS
- Biome aware - hot/dry burns larger than cold/wet
Control the BLAZE
- Discover or craft the fire extinguisher
- Use a wind charge to extinguish fires
- Iron golems help fight village fires
- Rain dampens the spread
- Fully CONFIGURABLE
In an emergency: /burnt killFire

Что нового
# Burnt — 1.10.5.3
- Much smaller download — 8.4 MB instead of 20.6 MB
- Terrain Slabs support: burnt, smouldering and recovering ground slabs
- Three new flags, and flags that survive Create contraptions on every version
- Better smoke from burning grass, and smoke that follows the wind
- Burnt blocks are now fragile in Sable on every version, not just NeoForge
- Living Wind support, and a fix for grass not spreading on a brand new world
## Terrain Slabs
- Burnt grass, burnt moss and burnt dirt slabs, plus smouldering grass, smouldering
moss and recovering grass slabs
- Half-height ground now burns and recovers exactly the way full blocks do
- Smouldering grass slabs catch, spread to their neighbours, and burn through to burnt
- Burnt grass slabs recover into recovering grass slabs, then back into living grass slabs
- Bonemeal works on them — burnt grass slabs green up instead of turning to dirt
- Recovering grass slabs are placed in a random rotation, like the full blocks
- They only show up in the creative tab when Terrain Slabs is installed
## Flags
On Forge and Fabric 1.21.1, flags now work the way they already did on NeoForge: the
cloth is drawn by the block itself rather than by a separate invisible entity. That
means a flag keeps flying when it is carried on a Create contraption or placed inside
a Sable sub-level, where the old version would lose its cloth.
Existing worlds are fine, but the leftover cloth entities from the old design are
dropped once on first load. The flags themselves are untouched.
Three new flags as well. All three craft like the existing ones — two sticks down the
left, the item top middle, wool filling the right:
- Creeper flag — lime wool and a creeper head
- Wilderness flag — yellow wool and a spruce sapling
- Fire flag — red wool and a campfire
## Smoke and flames
- Burning tall grass now gives off the same flame smoke as burning leaves, so it reads
properly from a distance instead of only up close
- That smoke no longer needs open sky above it, so tall grass burning under a forest
canopy smokes the way it should
- Smouldering grass now gives off light flame smoke as well as its flames
- Light flame smoke now drifts with the wind — it used to rise straight up regardless
- The heat fog over hot burnt ground is 50% larger
## LevelZ (Fabric only)
- Flint and steel now respects LevelZ skill gates when you use it on a block. LevelZ
checks the item but misses this case, so lighting fires got through unchecked
- Refusals now tell you what you need — "Smithing 4" — instead of silently doing nothing
- Works with both LevelZ 1.x and 2.x
## Living Wind
- Burnt now takes its wind from Living Wind when that is installed, so fire spread, smoke
and flags all follow its weather instead of Burnt simulating its own. It ranks above
Immersive Winds, Weather2 and Simple Clouds if you happen to run more than one
- Burnt's own particles keep their own movement. Living Wind pushes every particle in the
game, which blew smoke off the path Burnt sets for it and dragged flames sideways out of
the fires they belong to. Burnt now opts its particles out, so the wind is Living Wind's
and the movement is Burnt's
## Sable
- Burnt blocks now count as fragile on every version. The tag that marks them only
shipped on NeoForge 1.21.1 before, so on Forge, Fabric and both 1.20.1 versions
nothing Burnt made was ever fragile
- Burnt envelopes, sails, ferns, walls, vertical slabs, high grass and flesh blocks,
and ember walls and vertical slabs, now count as burnt along with everything else.
They are fragile in Sable, and fire no longer tries to burn them a second time
## Fixes
- Grass lit in the first minutes of a brand new world would not spread at all. Wind starts
at nothing on a new world and could take well over a minute to pick up, and grass spread
depends on it entirely, so there was nothing to carry the fire. New worlds now start with
a wind already blowing
- Your settings are now copied to burnt_basic.json.bak before the config is read. If the
config ever resets itself — a damaged file is enough, and it takes everything with it —
your old settings are in that file, and renaming it puts them back
- 18 blocks had no name and showed a raw id such as "block.burnt.burnt_envelope".
None of them are in the creative menu, so they only turn up by burning something,
which is why they went unnoticed: the Create sail and envelope blocks, burnt and
smouldering ferns, and the copper fire stages
## Download size
- Promo screenshots and source artwork are no longer packed inside the jar, which takes
it from 20.6 MB down to 8.4 MB. Nothing in game is affected

## Burnt Basic
### Changes
- **Cracked terracotta is randomly rotated.** Each face has a different crack pattern, so walls
no longer look tiled. Applies whether you crack it with a pickaxe, burn it, or place it by hand.
- **Burn Spread settings now have proper names.** Wood Spread, Dark Oak Spread and Wood Downward
Spread were showing as raw text in the config screen.
### Fixes
- **Fire could be stacked on fire.** Clicking the top of a flame with flint and steel placed
another flame above it, so repeated clicks built a tower of fire. Fire now needs something solid
underneath, like it does in vanilla.
- **Distant fires were still being lit by lava with lava catch turned off.** A fire landing on the
stone or netherrack around a pool slipped past the check and spread from there.
- **Cracked terracotta dropped nothing.** The 16 coloured versions gave you no drop at all unless
you were holding silk touch. They now drop clay balls when mined normally and the block itself
with silk touch, matching plain cracked terracotta.
- **Cracked terracotta also dropped clay when it shouldn't.** Silk touch gave you the block *and* a
handful of clay. That was a second, hidden drop running on every break, which also handed out the
wrong colour's loot.
- **Flames in long-distance smoke floated above the fire.** They were being placed against a
scattered position rather than the burning block, so they hung up to three blocks too high. They
now sit in the block that's actually alight.
- **Pale oak doors had no icon.** The burnt and smouldering pale oak doors were missing their item
texture.
- **Chipped and other block-variant mods burned far too fast.** One block catching could take a
whole floor or wall in about a second. Modded wood now chars at the same gradual rate as vanilla
wood.
- **TerraFirmaCraft pit kilns burned themselves down.** Lighting one destroyed the kiln and lost the
fuel. Pit kilns, log piles, charcoal piles and forges are now left alone.
- **Misc tweaks and fixes**
