# BroadcastCraft 0.2.0
The big one: cameras finally show **everything** they are pointed at, there is an
in-game guide, and televisions can carry your voice.
## Fixed
**Entities, players and water now appear on camera feeds.** Thanks to **merlin4711**
for the report — this turned out to be a real bug, not a limitation. Minecraft
re-binds its own render target partway through drawing the world. Terrain is drawn
before that point, which is why feeds looked like they were working, but entities,
block entities, particles and water are all drawn after it, and were going to the
wrong place entirely. Falling blocks, mobs and other players were invisible on air.
That is fixed.
**You can see players on camera, including yourself.** Minecraft deliberately hides
the player that *is* the camera, so you do not see the inside of your own head in
first person. Because a broadcast camera borrows the game's main camera, that check
was hiding you from a viewpoint that has nothing to do with where you are standing.
**Other fixes**
- Water no longer appears as a blue blanket over the whole picture.
- The Vision Mixer can be placed facing any direction.
- Filler images no longer cause heavy stutter and flickering.
## Added
**Broadcast Handbook.** Several of you said the mod is hard to get into and asked for
a guidebook and a tutorial — here it is, in game. Ten chapters covering every
component, a seven-step build-along that gets you from an empty field to a working
station, and a troubleshooting chapter that tells you exactly what each monitor
status colour means. Find it at the top of the creative tab.
**Simple Voice Chat support.** Speak in front of a camera that is on Program and you
are heard from every television tuned to that station, anywhere in the world. The
audio comes out at the television, so it fades with distance and everyone in the room
hears the same thing. Stand in front of a Preview camera and nobody hears you — you
are not on air, in picture or in sound. Optional: the mod is unchanged without Simple
Voice Chat installed.
**Analog television look.** Optional PAL or NTSC picture treatment for televisions:
scanlines and a period colour cast. PAL is finer and cooler, NTSC coarser and warmer.
Broadcast Monitors stay clean, the way a real gallery looks at clean feeds off the
mixer. Off by default — set `analogLook` to `PAL` or `NTSC` in the config.
**Graphics overlay.** The Vision Mixer can burn a line of text into the Program
picture — a name, a score, a headline. It appears only on Program, exactly like a
real graphics insert.
**Live thumbnails in the Vision Mixer**, so you can see what you are cutting to while
the switcher is open.
**Wall-mountable Broadcast Monitors.** Place one against a wall and it mounts flat
instead of standing on its foot.
**Television fullscreen view.** Right-click a television to fill the screen with the
programme. Sneak-right-click still opens the channel list.
**Filler images.** When a station is off air, a television can show your own pictures
instead of a blank screen — a test card, a logo, a slideshow. Drop PNG or JPG files
into `broadcastcraft/filler_images` in your game directory.
**Broadcast Server**, a decorative machine-room block.
## Changed
**New models** for the Pedestal Camera, Vision Mixer, Broadcast Monitor and the new
Server, contributed by a community modeller — with more to come. To everyone who
asked about the textures: this is the start of that work.
Selection boxes now follow the actual shape of a block, so a monitor is a thin panel
and the mixer is a low desk console instead of both being full cubes.
Camera feeds render at a lower resolution when they are not on Program, so Preview
and multiview tiles cost less than the on-air picture.
## Known limitations
**Shaderpacks (Iris/Oculus) are untested.** Monitor screens work by rendering the
world a second time into an off-screen texture, which is exactly the part a shader
pipeline replaces. Expect problems, and please do not report shader issues yet —
compatibility work has not started. The operator view and the television fullscreen
view are much more likely to be fine, since those only move the camera.
**Chunk loading.** A camera can only produce a picture if its part of the world is
loaded. If nobody is near your studio, televisions elsewhere show a station-offline
screen. This is how Minecraft loads the world, not a bug — the Handbook's TV Stations
chapter explains the practical ways around it.
Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10 or newer, Java 17.
