xokz's Glowing Toggle
For Minecraft 1.20.1+
This datapack enables the player to toggle a glowing effect.
How to use
Run /trigger glowing
Admin Commands
-
To lock a players ability to toggle glowing, run
/execute as <player> run function glowing:admin/lock_trigger -
To unlock a players ability to toggle glowing, run
/execute as <player> run function glowing:admin/unlock_trigger -
To make a player glow, run
/execute as <player> run function glowing:admin/make_glow -
To make a player stop glowing, run
/execute as <player> run function glowing:admin/stop_glow
Follows the Smithed Datapack Conventions

Added the ability to blacklist a player from using the trigger
- to blacklist a player, run `/tag <name> add xzg.trigger_blacklist`
- to unblacklist, run `/tag <name> remove xzg.trigger_blacklist`
- note that blacklisting a player only removes their ability to use the trigger, it does not change their glowing state
- A players glowing can be manually toggled by running `/scoreboard players set <name> glowing 1`
Made the pack less intrusive to other sources of glowing
- Toggling glowing off no longer clears the glowing effect, so if you have a seperate glowing effect already, it won't be immediately removed
New players will now be properly initialized
