🌍 Visiting Villagers – Bring Your Village to Life!

Visiting Villagers

Bring your villages to life! Visiting Villagers is a lightweight Vanilla+ mod that turns quiet hamlets into bustling, dynamic communities.

How It Works

Visitors arrive at dawn and leave at sunset. The mod is designed to be hassle-free: no extra beds or workstations required to work.

Requirements: The village needs at least 6 villagers and 1 Iron Golem for visitors to start spawning.

Key Features

👥 New Visitors: Adults with 14 specialized professions, 7 unemployed types, and baby visitors that bring extra life to the village.

🤝 Dynamic Trading: Specialized wandering traders coming from different biomes.

🛠️ Control Tools: Use the Visitor Checker items (via chat or book) to monitor population or quick commands like /visitors check.

Compatibilities

✨ Visiting Villagers is compatible with Fresh Animations, with the exception of the Wandering Visitor's eyes. To achieve 100% compatibility, simply use the add-on found at this link. Visiting Villagers x Fresh Animations.

🏷️ Villager Names: Fully compatible with Villager Names to give unique names to your visitors!

⚙️ Platforms: Available for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge (with in-game configuration support via Mod Menu on Fabric).

⚙️ Commands

Manage your village in real-time with these advanced commands:

CommandDescriptionNotes / Requirements
/visitors checkVerifies the amount of villagers, visitors, and golems.Available to all
/visitors reloadInstantly reloads the mod's configuration file.Fabric Only

Trading The trading screen now displays the visitor's name and profession simultaneously (e.g., "Steve | Lumberjack") once they have been named. Visitors will walk toward you to trade when you are holding an item of interest. Trade quantities per profile have been rebalanced: common visitors offer fewer trades at the first level, the standard visitor offers even fewer, and the Piglin Trader offers more trades. Spawn rates for rare profiles have been adjusted: the Piglin Trader is now rarer, while the Enchanter is more common than before. Babies Babies now refuse trades by shaking their heads, just like vanilla baby villagers. Babies play with each other more often (about twice as many times in a row) and jump more frequently. Baby outfits have been redesigned. Some baby textures have become rarer: the standard texture is now the least common among the common ones, and rare textures appear even less frequently. The Wanderer (the mod's traveling merchant) Leashed animals have changed: in plains, cave, and swamp biomes, the game now randomly selects 1 or 2 animals of the same species (pig, donkey, mule, or sheep)—previously, it was always sheep, foxes, or frogs. Pigs, donkeys, and mules now come saddled. Foxes have been replaced by two wolves. The two horses belonging to the "Master" Wanderer are now always black. New items New "Visitor Checker" item: when held, it displays a formatted report showing the number of nearby villagers, golems, visitors, babies, and wanderers; the chat version sends the summary directly to the chat. The checker report has been reorganized, featuring highlighted headings and numbers. Both the held item and the chat version now display the report as an on-screen overlay above the hotbar, rather than as chat messages. Visuals and other changes Compatibility with the VillagerNames mod: visitors are now automatically assigned names, and the trading screen displays both the name and profession. It also works without this mod. The visitors' preferred POI tag has switched from the fletcher to the cleric: visitors now also seek out the cleric's cauldron. Visitors have reverted to using the standard in-game villager skin underneath their clothing (Pillagers and Piglin Merchants remain fully skinned), and babies follow the same base-plus-clothing logic. New mod configuration screen within the game's mod menu. New mod icon.

# CHANGELOG — VISITING VILLAGERS ### Version 1.0.3 — Minecraft 26.2 (Fabric & NeoForge) Visiting Villagers has been updated to Minecraft 26.2. This version aligns the mod's behavior across both Fabric and NeoForge platforms, bringing AI improvements, trade rebalancing, bug fixes, and new features. --- ### MODELS AND COMPATIBILITY * Vanilla Models: Visitors now directly use the base game (Vanilla) entity models. * Expanded Compatibility: Thanks to using native models, the mod now features full compatibility with the Fresh Animations and Fresh Animations Details resource packs. * Textures and Outfits: Visuals remade on top of the original base, applying proper profession clothes (including on baby villagers) while maintaining fidelity to the vanilla art style. --- ### TRADING AND PRICING * Hand Item Rendering: When holding an emerald (or accepted item), the visitor will look at you and alternate displaying the offered items in their hand. * Proximity: Visitors stay close to you (~2 blocks) and remain nearby while the trading screen is open. * Offer Standardization: * 3 offers per level for most profiles. * Special profiles retain unique rules (Piglin Trader with up to 5 offers, and the Plus profile with 6 offers). * Enchanted Book Adjustments: * Base values readjusted to 5 emeralds (general visitors) and 8/12/20 emeralds for the Enchanted Blacksmith. * Treasure enchantments (Mending, Frost Walker, Soul Speed) retain double cost. * The Enchanted Blacksmith spawns more frequently and gains a 5th trade slot at level 2. * Price Increases on Attack: Fixed a bug that prevented prices from increasing (+10 per attack, up to the +10 cap) when attacking visitors. --- ### BABY VISITORS * Animations and Movement: Improved jump (~2 blocks) and smoother navigation over 1-block steps and stairs. * Play AI: Adjusted priority to prevent interruptions, increased play frequency (every ~10s), and added automatic pathfinding back to the village if they wander too far. * Updated Visuals: Adjusted models and outfits with biome variations and a 3-variant overall outfit. * Interaction: Right-clicking a baby visitor makes them shake their head and play the "no" sound (matching vanilla baby villagers). --- ### WANDERING TRADER AND COMPANIONS * Animals by Biome: * Forest: Wolves * Mountain: Goats * Snow: Horse * Desert: Camel * Plains / Cave / Swamp: Random draw of 1 to 2 animals of the same species (pig, donkey, mule, or sheep). * Wandering Trader PLUS: Spawns accompanied by 2 black horses. * Pre-equipped Saddles: Pigs, donkeys, and mules now spawn already saddled. * Clean Despawn (Fabric Exclusive): Fixed a bug on Fabric where animals and leashes remained abandoned in the world. Now, when the Wandering Trader despawns (via commands, distance, night, or sleeping), their companions and leashes disappear along with them. --- ### NEW ITEMS: VISITOR CHECKER Added 2 new items to the mod's creative tab: * Visitor Checker (Chat): Right-click to display a summary in the chat showing counts of visitors, babies, wandering traders, villagers, and golems within a 128-block radius. * Visitor Checker (Book): Transforms into an enchanted book with the complete report. The content dynamically updates every time the book is opened. Note: The /visitor check (or /visitors clear) command directly reflects the same data as the Checker. --- ### AUDIO AND VISUAL PRESENTATION * Reduced Ambient Speech: Adults and wandering traders speak far less frequently while roaming (every ~12s) to prevent overwhelming ambient noise in crowded villages. Sounds return to normal frequency during trades. * Piglin Fixes: Missing Piglin Trader sounds were removed on NeoForge to prevent errors in the game log. --- ### CONFIGURATION AND GENERAL * In-Game Configuration Screen (Fabric Exclusive): Adjust spawn rates, baby limits, and wandering trader parameters directly in-game via native Mod Menu integration. * Multi-Language Support: Texts, configuration settings, and items are fully translated into Portuguese, English, Russian, and Ukrainian. * Stability and Content: * Added Spawn Eggs for all 3 variants (Adult, Baby, and Wandering Trader) as well as a dedicated creative tab. * Fixed startup crashes and the mod icon display on the NeoForge mod list.
