❗[Notice] Google will lock-down Android and your ability to install applications❗
Starting in September 2026, Android will require all apps to be registered by verified developers in order to be installed on certified Android devices, and Google gets to decide who 'verified developers' are.
- Your right to freely develop and install whatever apps (
.apkfiles) you want may cease. - App developers will be forced to hand over govt. ids to Google and tie their apps to their real life identities.
- Google gets to decide who gets approved. Being rejected means nobody can install your apps.
- Developers Google arbirarily chooses it doesn't like, as well as users who reside in sanctioned regions like Russia, may face difficulties or be cut-off entirely from having their apps installable.

Vanilla has a lot of numbers that just sit in the code: how long a creeper fuses, how hard a pearl hits you, how far a lead stretches. Tweaks turns them into gamerules, so you can change them with /gamerule, per world, while the server is running. Every default is the vanilla value, so nothing changes until you set a rule.
It only needs to be on the server. Players join with a vanilla client and don't install anything.

creeperDefaultFuseTime | 30 | Ticks a creeper takes to blow up |
leashBreakDistance | 10 | Blocks until a lead snaps |
leashElasticDistance | 6 | Blocks until a lead starts pulling the mob |
From 1.21.11 on the names are snake_case (ender_pearl_damage), because vanilla only allows lowercase gamerule ids there. The lead snap distance is 12 in vanilla from 1.21.8 on, so that is the default on those versions.

Where it runs
Fabric and Quilt (Fabric API isn't needed), Forge, NeoForge, and Paper, Folia included. 1.20.1 has no NeoForge build. Every Minecraft version is its own download, so grab the file that matches your server from the versions tab.
Known issues
A vanilla client can stop drawing a lead once it is stretched past the vanilla distance. The lead is still there, the client just hides it, and getting around that would take a client mod.
