Existed since 1.14, Sawblade is a datapack that overhauls the Stonecutter, adding over 900* interactions to it!
These new interactions are designed to make Minecraft sense while also adding a lot more fun!
📜 Features:
- Added 900+ new things Stonecutter can process:
- Salvage materials from Vanilla craftables!
- You get the full amount back, but can only choose one material.
- Craftables using replaceable materials can only be cut into what said materials can create.
For example: Wooden things can only be cut into Sticks - For reasons found over the years, not everything can be salvaged.
- Scrape off polish, wax, oxidation from blocks!
- Cut wood into blocks!
- To not make the Crafting Table obsolete though: Some blocks are only accessible via Crafting.
- Cut stairs into slabs, and more!
- Salvage materials from Vanilla craftables!
- Stonecutter can also damage things standing on it! I mean, it is a huge sawblade.
- Special cases are applied to Villagers and Sulfur Cubes for more gameplay value.
- This also sends block updates each time damage is dealt, so you can do fun Redstone stuff!
- In-game Settings: Customize Sawblade to fit your worlds!
- To get started: Simply type
/function tdp.config:sawblade/damagein chat.
- To get started: Simply type
- Works well with my other datapacks!
- Works in Multiplayer!
- Made and maintained with lots of care. Hope you enjoyed it!

🤔 It's not working, help!
- If you can't access in-game settings or debug commands, open to LAN and enable Allow Commands!
- If you're in a Server, you'll need to
/opyourself first! - Before 1.20.5, this option was called Allow Cheats.
- If you're in a Server, you'll need to
- For any other problems, you can contact me personally here!
- I'll personally respond to all help requests that's been sent here.
Reply times may vary - there's just me working on all this, but I'll always help you out when I can.
- I'll personally respond to all help requests that's been sent here.
🎉 Special Thanks:
Special thanks to these awesome people for keeping the lights on:
If you like the effort that goes into making all this, help me keep the lights on so I get to do this more often!
📝 PS:
- Each version was designed and optimized for their respective Minecraft release, so you'll always get the best performance and features possible for the releases you're playing on.
- I could make builds that supports multiple versions at once, but it also means adding extra stuff only to support game releases that it won't be run on. It just doesn't make sense to me.
- Due to Modrinth's limitations, this version is not the best of what I've got.
*: As of 1.21.11, there are 919 new interactions with the Stonecutter.
I swear all of these are in here for a reason, I've made tools to make sure this is the case.

If you've read all the above, I think you deserve to know this little secret.
- I've put together a contraption that automatically converts Sawblade from the main location to Modrinth, and that includes the Update Logs.
- The main update log had more formatting options that aren't available here, so I tried my best to make sure it looks as nice as it can.
- But, since all this came from a contraption that was made by a single person the old fashioned way, it's prone to some weird bugs that I might've missed.

I try to take care of all edge-cases in vanilla so you can have all the fun, even if you're in some wacky world with a wacky setting, and I actually missed a new one 1.21 (1.20.5 actually, but still). There are so much more of these since 1.20.5 - this is bound to happen at some point.
# Changes:
- Fixed a critical bug causing <ins>Sawblade Damage to not run properly if spawnChunkRadius is off</ins>. To fix this:
1. Run: `/gamerule spawnChunkRadius 1` for a second
2. Then, run: `/gamerule spawnChunkRadius 0` to turn it off again.
3. That should fix everything.

release
Modrinth Edition for Minecraft 1.19.4, version 1.
19d116 июл. 2026 г.18Minecraft: 1.19.4datapack
Что нового
# Important changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft 1.19.4 and higher.
- It's not advised to run this in older versions, I won't be able to provide much support if you do.
(Imagine having to do that for all older versions for all my datapacks, you'll see a scale issue)
- Fixed a bug that caused player owned pets (parrots, cats, wolves) to not show their Death Message to their owners properly if killed by a Stonecutter.
# Gameplay changes:
- Damage dealt by the Stonecutter to players now **always scales with difficulty**.
- Driving a Minecart with TNT into a Sawblade **now triggers an explosion** when the Minecart is destroyed.
- Minecart with Furnace is no longer immune to Sawblade Damage.
- Sandcrusher now accepts Red Sand related crafts.
- Mud Bricks can now make Packed Mud.
- Villagers now take reduced damage from Stonecutters.
- Rules need to be consistent for all living entities, but Villagers have been working with an open sawblade for ages. Sometimes accidents happen.
- Villagers now try to hop out of the way if they are damaged by a Sawblade.
- This should result in some pretty funny interactions whenever you're looking around the world.
- Shoutout to [Kiroto50 on PMC for calling out](https://www.planetminecraft.com/data-pack/450-new-recipes-stonecutter-damage-sawblade-1-18x/comment/9974194/#reply_9974194) what I called the Mason Stonecutter issue.
Completely skipped past this problem when I first developed it. Whoops!
(I didn't use their suggestion though, which was simpler, but wouldn't be as fun)
# Non-gameplay changes:`1`
- Codebase now runs on Scripter 3.1.
- Changed the highlight color to be more consistent with advancements from my other packs.
- Tweaked the particle effects to be a bit more visible.
- Optimized the Sawblade Damage system with the techniques introduced in 1.19.4.
- This also removed the super secret easter egg that existed in all my previous versions, but who's hunting for them anyway, right?
- <ins>TheDiamondPlayables</ins> is now colored in <ins>dark aqua</ins> by design. (grey-ish aqua?)
- The old design feels more vanilla, but it doesn't sit right with me.
Seeing a gray TheDiamondPlayables just feel ... off.
### Footnotes:
`1`: Just me polishing some stuff in the background.

- Here's the real secret: I've been doing all this since 2018, but ad revenue alone is **tiny** compared to the time it took to research, develop, test, and maintain all this for free.
- As a result, most of my days are swallowed by other work just to keep the lights on.
- With your help though, I'll be able to go full-time: Faster updates, better tools, and many more features.
Together, we don’t just keep this going, we build it into what it was always meant to be.
- So [help me keep the lights on here](https://thediamondplayables.com/support), and have fun with Sawblade!

release
Modrinth Edition for Minecraft 26.2, version 1.
26b0-116 июл. 2026 г.71Minecraft: 26.2datapack
Что нового
# Changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft (1.)26.2!
- 46 New recipes for Sulfur and Cinnabar Blocks:
- Stairs can convert between it's forms, and be cut into Slabs.
- Slabs and Walls can convert between it's forms.
- Bricks can be cut back into Polished.
- Polished and Chiseled can be cut back into blocks.
- Sulfur Block can be cut back into Sulfur Spikes.
- Potent Sulfur can be cut back into Sulfur Block.
- The resulting number is 46 due to all the side effects these rules have.
- Sawblade Damage:
- New values for "Damage Knockback" option: Villagers and Sulfur Cubes, Sulfur Cubes Only
- If knockback is disabled, Sulfur Cubes will take damage even while blocked.
- Otherwise, the knockback is scaled by the Stonecutter's damage for blocked Sulfur Cubes.
- New "Sulfur Cube Damage Per Cycle" option: Damage dealt to Sulfur Cubes specifically.
- Similar to Villagers, this damage will only be used if a Sulfur Cube is being sliced.
- The reason is more gameplay focused stuff.
- The default value for "Damage Knockback" is now to "Villagers and Sulfur Cubes".
- This won't retroactively be applied as you update the pack - it is your world after all.
- Minor optimizations for dealing with player damage.
- Updated advancement background to match game update's theme.
# Dev Notes:
To avoid the possibility of clashing with an update for another pack in the Collection that hasn't arrived yet (what I call "future clashing"), I often release the entire collection at once when all my packs are ready. But, some packs always need more work than others, and I'd hate having to wait for another pack to be ready for me to use this one when it's actually been finished.
So I'll be working on a solution that'll help me release packs closer to when it was finished, while not having to risk dealing with future clashing. I'll try to get it ready by the time 1.26.3 gets released, so we'll have a proper test run on how well that goes.
If you appreciate the care I put into every release and the behind the scenes tools that makes all this possible, [consider supporting me directly here](https://thediamondplayables.com/donate) . Your support lets me do this more often, so you'll get these updates even sooner!

Modrinth Edition for Minecraft 1.21-1.21.1, version 1.
21-116 июл. 2026 г.11Minecraft: 1.21, 1.21.1datapack
Что нового
# Changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft 1.21 and 1.21.1!
- Added **113 new recipes** to the Stonecutter! Here are the highlights:
- The Crafter can now be salvaged for parts!
- Cut Copper can now make Copper Grates.
- Chiseled Copper can be cut back into Cut Copper.
- Copper Bulbs can be salvaged.
- Copper Door, Copper Grate and Copper Trapdoor can be cut back into Ingots.
- Tuff, Polished Tuff, Tuff Bricks, and Chiseled Tuff can be cut into eachother.
- <ins>Experience Orbs and Vexes can no longer be cut</ins> by Stonecutters.
- The reasoning for these 2 is kinda similar, but I'll let you figure it out.
- <ins>Villagers now resist all damage</ins> dealt by Stonecutters.
- They still act as if these actually hurt them though, because I find it funny.
- **New in-game Settings** for Sawblade Damage:
- <ins>Damage Dealt</ins>: Damage dealt per Stonecutter slice.
- <ins>Villager Damage</ins>: Damage dealt per Stonecutter slice on Villagers.
- <ins>Damage Cycle</ins>: The time between each Stonecutter slice.
- <ins>Damage Knockback</ins>: If this damage knocks you away from the Stonecutter.
- <ins>Death Message</ins>: If the Death Message is announced when someone dies to a Stonecutter.
- **New Presets**:
- <ins>Classic</ins>: Sawblade Damage, as it was designed.
- <ins>Instacutter</ins>: Instantly kills most entities with a hit of the blade.
- <ins>Bouncy Blades</ins>: All living things damaged by Stonecutter now bounce around like maniacs. Bouncy castle anyone?
- Sawblade's Death Messages are now more traceable in the server logs.
- Makes things easier to track what happened if you had to look through that thing.
- Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug that <ins>caused Stonecutters to not deal damage in Peaceful</ins>.
- Fixed a rare bug that <ins>caused Stonecutters to announce death messages</ins> before the victim actually dies.
# Extras:
- Added Admin Commands! To use these commands:
- Simply type `/function tdp.`, and the game should give you suggestions on what to use.
**Side note:** Any suggestions **with underscores followed by numbers** are **for internal use only** and won't work if run on their own.
- Only those with the "Allow Commands" permission can use Admin Commands.
- A lot of filenames have been changed to properly organize everything.
- IDs have been removed and is now replaced by code names.
- The format is now tdp:code_name/data, to reserve the old names for Admin Commands.
- After 6 years of making datapacks, <ins>we finally have icons now!</ins>
- Improved the look of info text messages.
- Text files have been merged into one single Interactive Help File.
- I have to learn 3 new languages to get all this to work as well as it did.
- Not the best at it yet, but it works well enough for now.
- The master background has been updated for major releases as always.
- Codebase now uses Scripter 4.
# Notes:
- I have considered cutting Copper Blocks into Doors/Trapdoors, but ultimately backed out on it.
- If the Stonecutter has more recipes like this, you'd lose gameplay value in having the Crafting Table and its upgrade, the Crafter.
- Also because it doesn't make much sense logically - Stonecutter can cut it to make it look like Doors/Trapdoors, but looks aren't everything.
- I personally wouldn't consider Tuff to be something one can finely turn into Gravel, even though it would be consistent with the existing logic.
- In Vanilla, Tuff isn't renewable, so converting it into something that isn't Tuff just means that eventually you'd have no Tuff left.
- Even if Tuff is pretty common stuff, this is still a possibility I needed to consider, and for options that have a potentially damaging application, it's best to not be the one who made that happen, ya know?
- An application of the 1.20.5's internal changes makes it possible to cut blocks into smaller versions of itself (displayed as heads), but that's not a part of Sawblade.
- Sawblade aims to improve the existing items' relationships by adding recipes that makes sense based on the game's logic, and making new head items and adding that here doesn't make a lot of sense.
- I'm still doing something like this though as a separate pack later on down the line. It'll be a pretty interesting challenge, for sure.
- I tried to make it so that the Stonecutter only hits if you're actually standing on the Saw bit.
- Problem with this is that all the methods I got doesn't perform that well when scaled up. The performance loss would always prove too much to make this mechanic worth implementing.
- I'll be back to this some other time, but for now implementing it is more trouble than it's really worth.

Modrinth Edition for Minecraft 1.19.3, version 1.
19c116 июл. 2026 г.19Minecraft: 1.19.3datapack
Что нового
(Also known as the Cutting Edge update)
# Changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft 1.19.3!
- Sawblade Damage's algorithm have been reworked to be more efficient!
- Stonecutter now causes a block update whenever it deals damage!
- Could be useful if used properly, I guess.
- Up to the redstone experts for this one.
- Extra detail changes:
- Damage particles have been updated to better reflect the Sharpness nature of its blades.
- Arrows and Spectral Arrows are now immediately cut off if landed on a Stonecutter.
- All Sawblade have been thoroughly looked at and reworked completely.
- The rework aims to improve the Stonecutter while not replacing the use of the Crafting Table.
- The rework also aims to not change the purpose of the game's items in any major way.
Minor changes are fine though, like cutting moss away from cobblestone, or unpolishing blocks.
- As a result though, recipes that didn't follow the design goals have been removed.
RIP quartz from blocks. You still have to go to the Nether for them now.
- Sawblade Recipes are now generated by a Relationship Manager.
- The Relationship Manager takes existing item relationships, and automatically forges new ones that make sense based on that.
- So for example: 1 Log can make 4 planks. And 2 planks can make 4 sticks. Relationship Manager sees that, and adds a recipe where 1 log can make 8 sticks.
- With this tool I only need to add a very small collection of basic relationships, and the Manager will do all the logical thinking for me.
- The general rules for the Relationship Manager goes as follows:
- <ins>Bridge the gap</ins>: If A can make B, and B can make C, then A can make C with adjusted item counts.
Resulting item counts are adjusted as if you were doing those 2 steps in order.
- <ins>More is good</ins>: If both A and B can make C, choose the recipe that gives you more of C.
That's what you'd be doing anyway if you're doing 2 steps in order.
- There are more rules I have to keep track of, but I'll skip those as they're not as important.
- New Advancements:
- It hurts now?: It hurts now. (literally all the introduction you'll ever need to Sawblade Damage)
- There and Back Again: Powderize Concrete with the Stonecutter!
- Stainless Glass?: De-stain Glass with the Stonecutter.
- I saw some wood: Cut for Planks with the Stonecutter.
- Splitting Fiber: Split for Wool with the big blade.
- Thin Slices: Cut for String with the Stonecutter.
- Waxed Age Scraper: Scrape for Waxed Copper Blocks with the Stonecutter!
- Nether Salvage: Cut for Nether Brick with the Stonecutter!
- Sandcrusher: Crush for Sand with the Stonecutter!
- Mossy Business: Cut for Mossy Cobblestone with the Stonecutter.
- Finely Crushed: Make Gravel with the Stonecutter!
- Recipe Fixes:
- Fixed the inconsistency between Purpur Blocks and Popped Chorus Fruit ratios, leading to Purpur duplication.
- Yeah for some reason I thought it was a 1-4 ratio when it was a 1-1.

# Changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft (1.)26.1!
- Updated advancement background to match game update's theme.
- Added cutback recipes for Name Tags and Golden Dandelion!
- Name Tags only gives you paper - the game doesn't know the item's original metal nugget.
- Golden Dandelion only gives you 8 Golden Nuggets, because organics can't be salvaged.
- Relationship Manager`1`:
- Updated internal handlings to fix 1.26's changes to data reports.
- Removed excess data from some Sawblade recipes due to the game's new Stonecutter recipes.
- IHF Files:
- Moved all external sources to [my website](https://thediamondplayables.com) instead of using a third party supplier.
- Fixed an issue causing certain elements to pop up ahead of the image overlay.
- Optimized all online images using .webp instead of .png (faster load times).
- Improved load times for all online lookups by about 80%!
PS: Sorry for being late with this one, I had a lot more work to do in real life the past few weeks, otherwise I risk losing a major income source needed to keep myself going.
Here's hoping for the day [I get enough support from you guys](https://thediamondplayables.com/donate) to not have to worry survival costs. Anyways, have fun with the update!

release
Modrinth Edition for Minecraft 1.21.11, version 1.
21k128 янв. 2026 г.71Minecraft: 1.21.11datapack
Что нового
After a while of having to deal with landmines that came with Mounts of Mayhem, the Datapack Series are finally here for the last game drop of 2025!
# Changes:
- Is now designed for Minecraft 1.21.11!
- **Admin Books have been removed** and replaced with the Admin Settings menu.
- The Admin Settings menu lets you <ins>tweak all settings in one go, and apply them all at once</ins>!
- Accessing this menu <ins>is the same as getting the Admin Book</ins>, so it should be easy to get used to it.
- New Presets Menu:
- This lets you <ins>view and edit a Custom Preset's values</ins> before applying them!
- Triggers each time you load a <ins>Custom Preset</ins>.
- New Show Configs Menu:
- This lets all players read Admin Setting values in detail!
- Access by running `/trigger tdp.readconfigs`.
- Players will be notified on how to access this menu each time the Settings were changed.
- The player who made changes to packs' Admin Commands are no longer announced in-game.
- Mainly because that job is meant for the server consoles, and that information doesn't help with the players' gameplay experience anyway.
- Tweaked the names, descriptions of all Admin Settings buttons to fit better with the new interface it's in.
- New built-in preset: Flashsaw`1`
- Updated the values of some built-in presets.
- IHF files now have their descriptions updated to reflect the recent set of changes.
- Updated advancement background to match game update's theme.
# Update notes:
- Because the underlying system has to be reworked to support Admin Settings, **your settings will be reset** when you update to this version.
- Don't worry though, <ins>you can bring your settings back instantly</ins> by loading a preset saved in the previous version, so be sure to do that before updating!
## Dev comments:
- If you're wondering why I'm dropping the Admin Books now: **Mojang secretly obliterated a hidden mechanic** that I used to make Admin Books feel nice to use, this was on top of [the forced confirmation screen](https://web.archive.org/web/20250701223507/https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-java-edition-1-21-6#:~:text=Users%20will%20now%20be%20prompted%20for%20confirmation%20before%20executing%20a%20command%20from%20the%20run_command%20click%20action%20in%20books%20and%20chat%20if%20the%20command%20can%27t%20be%20parsed%20or%20requires%20elevated%20permissions%20(i.e.%2C%20higher%20than%200)) they added in 1.21.6.
- Even if it's a bug that'll eventually be fixed, <ins>the damage has already been done</ins>, and I had to deal with it if I want to properly update all my packs to this release.
- The reality is, adding new tools to make stuff with proper care just takes this long, and I have to make sure that the tool I'd built won't cause pack clashes when it's used on my other packs that were also running on Book Binder.
### Footnotes:
`1`: A blade that wipes things out in a flash. Good for a little game.
