(Also known as "A New Seat" update) Note: Starting a small experiment to try and categorize the new stuff in each update log. **Note if you're updating from an older version:** - Be sure to uninstall the previous version before moving up to v19d1. - The code has been reworked to include all the new stuff from 1.19.4, and has also been optimized to run even better, too! - That also means that old stuff from previous versions won't run in v19d1, so if you want to keep things clean, uninstall v19c1 before updating! # Important Changes: - Is now designed for Minecraft 1.19.4 and higher. - It's not advised to run this in older versions, I won't be able to provide much support if you do. (Imagine having to do that for all older versions for all my datapacks, you'll see a scale issue) - You can now sit underwater! - You can now sit on Fences, Walls and Fence Gates! - You must be able to stand on top of the Fence in order to sit on it. - Fence Gates must be closed in order to be sat on. (which is kinda obvious, but still mentioning it just in case!) - For lower stair blocks: The sitting position is now always on the lower half of the block. - Sitting on top of Chests now locks it up while you're sitting on it. - The codebase was also redesigned for 1.19.4 to include some new features as well as making them run better overall. - The new approach came at a cost though: The cushion's been removed. I'll find a way to bring it back in the future, but for now it is what it is. - Fixed a case where you'd get "Time to Sit Down!" advancement^`1` without having to sit in a seat. - Because of this, "Time to Sit Down!" completion has been reset for everyone. - The advancement's EXP reward was also shifted to 15, from 10. - Removed more items from the valid items to sit in list. - Some items removed: Boats, Minecarts, End Crystal, Cocoa Beans, Sweet/Glow Berries, ... - These items are selected because you might sit down when you don't want to, but did because you absentmindedly crouched at the time. - Another note: You can still use everything when you've sat down. # Non-gameplay changes:^`2` - Codebase now runs on Scripter 3.1. - Actually the entire code was reworked from scratch to apply all the new stuff 1.19.4 has to offer. - BlockSeat should perform a lot better because of this. - Yes, "Time to Sit Down!" used to be "Time to Rest!". - Might change it again later if I got a better name for it. - <ins>TheDiamondPlayables</ins> is now colored in <ins>dark aqua</ins> by design. Who woulda thought a pack that lets you sit anywhere be this complex? It doesn't have to be, sure, but that just means there's room for improvement, and improving it just takes you to where we are now. Anyways, here are the changes: # Changes: - Is now designed for Minecraft 1.21-1.21.1! - **Improved how sitting works**: - In order to sit, simply <ins>crouch twice in a short time</ins> to start sitting! - You can see why I changed it again - distinct, easy to do and doesn't require clearing your hands. - As always, I'll improve the methods whenever I can think of a better way, and this one seems promising so far ... - **Upgraded seat placement position**, letting you sit in a lot more places! - I've added <ins>8 new spots per block</ins>, which'll be placed when you stand close to the edge of blocks. - Placement is <ins>center-focused</ins>, so if you're closer to the block's center, that's where the seat is. If you're closer to the edge of blocks, cushions will be placed there instead! - You can now **move cushions around** by hitting your Use key on them while crouched! - Where cushions are repositioned to <ins>depends on where you're looking</ins> at. - They'll silently fail if you wanted to place a seat in a bad spot. - These options let you set where you want to sit for the more complex set of block positions. - **New sitting effects**: - New sounds for sitting, seat placement, and standing up! - New particles when a seat is removed! - I can't believe I missed these little details, but it adds a lot more life to the pack. - **Added Admin Settings**, which lets you tweak some aspects of the new mechanics: To tweak these, run `/function tdp.config:blockseat` - <ins>Crouch Delay</ins>: Sets how long between crouches to register a double crouch. - Counts in ticks^`1`. Defaults to 10^`2`. - Do note that the game **requires at least a 1-2 tick gap** to register an uncrouch, so values too low can be hard to use. - <ins>Chest Blocked</ins>: Chests can be locked by sitting on them. - True/False. True by default. - <ins>Seat Effects</ins>: Adds sounds and particles to BlockSeat's cushions. - True/False. True by default. Turn off if you like the quieter feel. - <ins>"Time to Sit Down" advancement has been reset</ins> to teach players how to sit again. - The description has also been tweaked to reflect the new sitting method. - **New advancement: "Cushion Mover"** - Move a seat by pressing your Use key on a seat while crouched. - Fixed a bug causing Chests to be locked permanently if someone logged out while sitting on it. - **Existing cases won't be fixed** mainly because you can just replace the affected blocks yourself.
