Minecraft version 26.3 added Cushions. These can be buried into full blocks without a shadow as long as there's enough sticking out (1 pixel). These can be buried into non-full blocks like slabs and stairs to the point of being functional, but not visible: example.
Description

Optional Advancment Guides
To enable a list with guides for my datapacks, use /advancement grant <targets> from dragon3025:root.
