# StreamCraft 0.31.0: ready for events
Built for shows on a big in-game screen: awards nights, concerts, premieres. Servers that use
another voice mod can now turn StreamCraft's voice off, the audience watches the screen instead of
having to stand next to the performer, and event staff can lock the stage. This release also brings
the 0.30 fixes, which were never released on their own.
## For server admins
- **Use Plasmo Voice or Simple Voice Chat instead.** `/streamcraft voice off` turns StreamCraft's
voice off for everyone, at once and without a restart; `/streamcraft voice on` brings it back.
The Voice tab disappears from players' StreamCraft menus, StreamCraft never opens a microphone,
and nobody hears anyone twice.
- **Performers' Plasmo Voice on the stream.** With Plasmo Voice installed and StreamCraft voice
off, the voices of players on the stage list ride on one live stream: viewers hear them from the
big screen, on Share to Web and on the YouTube restream, along with the desktop audio. Whispers
and groups stay private. Performers need to have accepted StreamCraft's current terms; anyone who
hasn't is told so in chat. `/streamcraft event voices off` turns it off.
- **Event mode and a stage list.** `/streamcraft event on` lets only performers on the stage list go
live; everyone else watches, and their camera and screen-share buttons say why. Add performers
with `/streamcraft event stage add <player>`.
- **Lock a screen.** Event staff can lock a Display Block from its panel or with
`/streamcraft event lock <x y z>`, so nobody else can change it, swap its source, clear it or break
it during the show.
- **Event staff** are the license owner, players with the `streamcraft.event.admin` permission
(works with LuckPerms), or operators. Changes apply at once, without players rejoining.
- **Planning a big audience?** Ask us for an event allowance for the date, so everyone can watch.
## For everyone
- **Watch from anywhere in the hall.** If you are near a screen showing a stream, you see and hear
it, however far away the streamer is standing. Before, you had to be within 32 blocks of the
streamer.
- **Smoother with a big crowd.** Far or small screens get a lighter version of a screen share, and a
stream with no screen near you isn't sent to you at all.
- **Fix: your mic on your stream on Minecraft 1.21.6 to 1.21.11.** With Mic on stream enabled, your
voice now reaches your YouTube and web viewers on these versions too. Your own preview of a Mac
screen share is also cropped like everyone else's.
- **Fix: going live on YouTube on your own.** With no players nearby and Share to Web off, starting
the YouTube restream failed with "HTTP 504". StreamCraft now connects your stream first, then
starts YouTube.
- If you run another voice chat mod on a server that still has StreamCraft voice on, StreamCraft
tells you once that an admin can turn it off.
- With Plasmo Voice or Simple Voice Chat installed, the M key mutes that mod only. To use M for
StreamCraft's mic, move Plasmo's mute key off M (in Plasmo's settings), or give StreamCraft's mic
key another key in Controls.
- Fix: switching from push to talk to always on no longer leaves your mic muted.
## Also in this release (from 0.30)
- **Camera failure shows on the Live page.** If your camera stops sending pictures mid-stream, the
Live page says so, with a Retry button.
- **Minecraft 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3:** stopping a screen share no longer trips over a frame still being
captured; a camera that stalls is fully released, so turning it back on works; single-player worlds
no longer open the voice port (Open to LAN still does); and the microphone picked in Voice Chat
Settings is used when StreamCraft falls back to Java's sound system.
- **Linux on ARM:** the arm64 download recognises its own platform, so capture works.
- **macOS window sharing explains itself.** The screen-share Source picker lists only the windows on
your current desktop, and now says so: leave full screen or move the other app's window to this
desktop, then press Refresh.
- **Settings saved safely.** Your StreamCraft settings, license and server directory settings are
written in one step, so a crash mid-save can't leave a half-written file.
## What was tested
- Automated tests, and every Minecraft version and loader builds.
- The event features in game on every version and loader (1.20.1 to 26.3, Fabric, NeoForge and
Forge), with players on Windows 11, macOS and Arch Linux: voice off and on, watching from the
screen with the streamer far away, lighter or paused pictures for far screens, event mode and the
stage list, locks from the command and the panel, break protection, and event staff by operator
level (and through LuckPerms on 1.21.1 and 26.2 Fabric).
- Stage voices, measured on the stream and played from the big screen: 1.21.1 Fabric with Plasmo
Voice 2.1.17 and 2.2.0-beta.2, 26.2 Fabric, 26.3 NeoForge and 1.21.11 NeoForge with 2.2.0-beta.2,
and 1.20.1 Forge with 2.1.17. On 1.21.1 also on Share to Web and on a YouTube restream.
- The stage-voices add-on loads with Plasmo Voice 2.1.8 or 2.2.0-beta.2 on 1.21.1, 1.21.3, 1.21.8
and 1.21.10 NeoForge, 1.21.4 Fabric and NeoForge, 1.21.11 Fabric, 26.1.2 Fabric and NeoForge, 26.2
NeoForge and 26.3 Fabric.
- With voice off, on those Plasmo setups and on 1.20.1 Fabric, 1.21.6 Fabric, 1.21.9 Fabric and
26.1.2 NeoForge: the Voice tab is hidden, no StreamCraft microphone is sent, staff changes apply
without a rejoin, and the audience's go-live buttons are greyed out with the reason.
- A rehearsal of a big show: 100 viewers watching one stream at once through an event allowance,
all connected and received the picture.
- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the
screen and the projector beam, Photon the screen without the beam.
- From 0.30, in game on 26.2 Fabric, 26.2 NeoForge and 1.21.1 Fabric with players on Windows 11,
macOS and Arch Linux (Linux on Fabric only): screen and window sharing from each system, camera on,
off and on again from macOS with gesture detection, proximity voice, the mic on a live stream, a
share link, and the voice port in single-player and Open to LAN.

- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the
screen and the projector beam, Photon the screen without the beam.

- **Fix: your mic on your stream on Minecraft 1.21.6 to 1.21.11.** With Mic on stream enabled, your

without a rejoin, and the audience's go-live buttons are greyed out with the reason.
- A rehearsal of a big show: 100 viewers watching one stream at once through an event allowance,
all connected and received the picture.
- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the

- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the
screen and the projector beam, Photon the screen without the beam.
- From 0.30, in game on 26.2 Fabric, 26.2 NeoForge and 1.21.1 Fabric with players on Windows 11,
macOS and Arch Linux (Linux on Fabric only): screen and window sharing from each system, camera on,
off and on again from macOS with gesture detection, proximity voice, the mic on a live stream, a
share link, and the voice port in single-player and Open to LAN.

voice now reaches your YouTube and web viewers on these versions too.
- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the
screen and the projector beam, Photon the screen without the beam.

- On 1.21.1 Fabric: the M key with Plasmo Voice both ways; YouTube restream with no one else watching;
a webcam unplugged mid-stream shows Retry and comes back; BSL and Complementary Reimagined show the
screen and the projector beam, Photon the screen without the beam.

# StreamCraft 0.29.3: screen-share audio picker, security fixes, a quieter menu
**Please update, both players and server owners.** This release includes a number of security
fixes. It also brings the screen-share audio picker out of alpha, with fixes, and removes the
confetti from the StreamCraft menu.
## Screen-share audio picker
Desktop audio used to record everything your computer played, Minecraft included. If you shared
your screen with sound, your in-game voice chat, other players' streams and game sounds went back
out in your stream, so everyone heard themselves echo.
Screen share audio now has its own picker on the Live page, next to Source:
- **Everything except Minecraft** (the default): your browser, music, Discord and other apps,
without the game, StreamCraft voice, Simple Voice Chat or other players' streams.
- **Shared window's app**: only the app whose window you are sharing.
- **One app**: pick it from the list of apps playing sound. StreamCraft remembers it. If that app
closes, StreamCraft tells you in chat and switches to Everything except Minecraft, then switches
back when the app opens again.
- **Off**.
You can switch while live; viewers keep hearing you without a restart.
On Linux, apps that play through PipeWire's PulseAudio layer are now told apart, so One app captures
just that app and Everything except Minecraft keeps the game out.
## Menu
- The confetti and slide-in when StreamCraft social first showed up on a server are gone.
Discover, Friends and Board now simply appear in the menu.
## Also in this release
- A one-time chat tip when Axiom's Force Place would stop a right-click from opening a Display Block.
## Good to know
- Separating apps needs Windows 10 version 2004 or newer, macOS 13 or newer, or Linux with
PipeWire. On older Windows, PulseAudio-only Linux, or a Flatpak launcher, the picker offers
Whole desktop and Off and says that Minecraft and voice chat are included. There, use headphones.
- On macOS the app list shows apps with an open window.
- **Server owners:** the `api_url` line in `config/streamcraft/config.properties` is no longer used
and can be deleted.
## What was tested
- Automated tests, and every Minecraft version and loader builds.
- The screen-share **Audio** picker in game on Windows 11, Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric, two players:
every choice, switching while live, and the chosen app closing and coming back.
- The picker measured on the receiving side in game: Windows 11 sharing to Arch Linux with every
Audio choice and Arch sharing back, on Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric, and Everything except Minecraft
on 14 version and loader combinations from 1.20.1 to 26.3 (Fabric, NeoForge, Forge). In-game
sound stayed out of the stream on every one.
- macOS in game: a Mac sharing its screen with Everything except Minecraft to a Windows player.
Another app's sound reached the viewer and the game's own music did not.
- The audio capture on Windows 10 22H2, outside the game.
- Older systems that can't separate apps fall back to the whole desktop, with the warning.
- The security fixes, in game on Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric on Windows and Arch Linux.
- Proximity voice, and 0.28.6 and 0.29 mixed between server and players.
- The menu on Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric, on a server with StreamCraft social on.
