Welcome to SpanzelCraft! This Minecraft modpack is meticulously curated, tweaked and maintained by me, Spanzel! Fun and adventure in a lively world are at the forefront of this collection, all while being presented in that beautiful nostalgic Whimscape style ♥
This modpack aims to bring joy and life to Minecraft through various mods, resourcepacks and shaders. These are all tweaked to produce lively colors, extra effects in the world (both for your eyes and ears to enjoy) and many more animations for you and the creatures that inhabit the world with you.
Here's a list of some additions that await you inside (be sure to also check the changelog for any extra additions over time):
Graphical Enhancements
- Complementary Shaders - Reimagined ► (Adds shadows and reflections to Minecraft)
- Fresh Animations ► (All mob animations redone in the Minecraft cinematic trailer style)
- Visuality ► (Adds additional particle effects to the world)
- Whimscape Resourcepack ► (Gives Minecraft a whimsical artstyle, includes Leaves & Fresh Animations addons)
World Enhancements
- AmbientSounds ► (Adds things like birdsong and rustling leaves to forests and seagulls to seashores)
- BetterNether ► (Overhauls the Nether, adding additional mobs and biomes)
- Falling Leaves ► (Particle leaves gently fall from trees)
- Presence Footsteps ► (Each surface creates its own footstep sound)
- Sound Physics Remastered ► (Adds echoes and reverb to stoney surfaces, and muffles sounds behind walls)
Player Enhancements
- 3D Skin layers ► (Transforms all playerskin details to 3D objects)
- Eating Animation ► (Adds sprite animations for edible and drinkable items)
- First-person Model ► (You can see your own body in first person)
- Not Enough Animations ► (Adds many animations normally only seen in first person to third person)
- Sit ► (Lets you sit on stair and slab blocks by right-clicking, shift to stand up)
Experience Enhancements
- AppleSkin ► (Adds a bit of functional details to your hunger bar)
- Better Third Person ► (Camera can now turn around your character)
- BetterF3 ► (Streamlined, easier to read version of the F3 debug overlay)
- Roughly Enough Items ► (Adds all available blocks to the inventory screen)
- WI Zoom ► (The ability to zoom in anywhere, use mousewheel to finetune)
- Xaero's Minimap & World Map ► (Adds a map and minimap to Minecraft)
And several under the hood improvements to help speed Minecraft along. Enjoy!
Lastly, here are some handy shortcuts that are enabled by default in this modpack:
Misc
- X - Zoom
- K - Shaders on/off
- , - Hud Co-ordinates on/off
- . - Cycle Hud Co-ordinates verbosity
- F7 - First Person body on/off
Map & Minimap
- M - Fullscreen map on/off
- N - Minimap on/off
- B - Add new waypoint at current location
- + - Add temporary waypoint (is removed after exiting world)
- U - List of all waypoints
- TAB - Reveals names on the minimap
- Z - Enlarge minimap
Voice Chat
- V - Voice Chat menu
- G - Voice Chat groups
- H - Voice Chat icons on/off
In inventory
- Ctrl+O - Roughly Enough Items on/off (this also adds shortcuts to the topleft to change weather, time of day and game mode)

Time for more things to discover on your adventure! There are now many villages to find, each styled after the biome they are found in. Be aware however, not only villagers are enjoying new locations to house themselves, pillagers have been reported building new watchtowers around the world as well!
And if discovering mortar and bricks (or wood, or mushroom, or ship..) aren't adventurous enough for you, there are now also some new Mythological creatures to find, fight and tame in the world!

This is a rather small update. It adds some behind the scenes mods to improve performance a bit and tweaks some critters that were giving me a hard time; Rabbits now have a bit better pathfinding (they still aren't rocket scientists, but they know how to navigate a one high block at least) and I gave tropical fishies a very much needed chill pill.
Through Boids, fish were schooling rather realistically and darting through the water in groups. That's exactly how I wanted it, until I started putting fish in an aquarium or small pond and they kept on racing at dizzying speeds. So my current solution is to exempt tropical fish from the Boids behavior and they'll now lazily swim around in small enclosures again :)

❄️With the winter Solstice upon us, the nights are long and dark. What better way to brighten them up than with exploding creepers?! Introducing dynamic lights, making everything from thrown torches, charging creepers or aflame skellies light up their surrounding area like they were placed lights!
Now for the more technical, though very cool, addition! After enhancing many animations in-game, someone was always left out; the player! I mean sure, we got sitting animations, eating, climbing, swimming and the like, but it's time for some expressiveness!

I've taken this modpack as far as it would reasonably go while still trying to stick to the vanilla experience, but it's time to let it go, and focus in on fun and adventure!

We finally get new biomes in the mix in the form of Biomes O'Plenty and Wilder Wild! But not to worry, I've made sure their addition will not break any existing worlds. The new terrain will blend seamlessly at the edges of your existing terrain :)
