SkinCraft - In Game Minecraft Skin Editor for Fabric
Create, edit, and share custom Minecraft skins without ever leaving the game. SkinCraft is a client-side Fabric mod that brings a full skin editor directly into Minecraft: 2D pixel painting, 3D model preview, community skin browsing, and cape selection, all in one place. Press K to open.
No browser tabs. No file hunting. Just open and start creating.
✏️ In-Game Skin Editor
- Full 2D pixel editor for precise control over every pixel of your skin
- Interactive 3D model view: paint directly on your character and see changes live
- Tools include eyedropper (sample any color from your skin), AutoTone, and standard paint tools

The honest reason to use it
Most Minecraft skin tools make you leave the game, open a browser or a separate app, edit your skin, export it, then re-upload through the Minecraft launcher. SkinCraft cuts all of that out. Everything lives inside Minecraft, making skin creation fast, visual, and actually fun.
Whether you're building a full custom character from scratch or just tweaking small details, SkinCraft is designed to fit how you already play.

- Install Fabric for your Minecraft version
- Download Fabric API and drop it in your
modsfolder - Drop

### Highlights
- **Delete your shared skins:** You can now remove a skin you uploaded from the Community browser. Select your skin and click Delete (double-click to confirm).
- **Import skins by IGN or URL:** The Community search bar now does double duty. Type a player name like `Dream` to fetch their official Mojang skin alongside community results. Paste a skin URL (e.g. `https://mineskin.eu/skin/Dream`) to import directly. Imported skins appear with a gold border and "Official (Mojang)" label so you know they're not from the community.
- **Unified search:** No more toggles or separate import screens. The search bar accepts community search terms, player IGNs, or skin URLs — all in one place. Just type and hit Enter or click Search.
- **Visual polish:** Imported skins get a distinct gold border and green-tinted tile background. The right panel shows "Source: Official (Mojang)" for imported skins. Community skins now show "Community Skins" in the navigation button.
- **Upload disclaimer:** The Share dialog now includes a notice that uploaded skins will be visible to and downloadable by other players.
- **Enter to search:** Pressing Enter while focused in the search bar now triggers the search, no mouse required.

### Highlights
- Added a hex color input in the editor color picker, custom swatches, and persistent palette storage across sessions.
- Added a 3D editor preview background toggle, improved editor/screen header titles, and adjusted skin-list and gallery label spacing (including restored UI pieces that were lost during merge work).
- Fixed right-click preview rotation reset behavior, corrected inverted vertical-drag pitch in the 3D preview, and fixed skin rendering so custom skins apply only to the local player.
- **Skin gallery (local + community):** Tile previews are rendered from a small **cached texture** (baked once per skin) instead of repainting every pixel every frame, so the list and 3D preview stay responsive with **many tiles** (e.g. several rows / large windows).
- **Local ↔ Community navigation:** Switching between Local and Community no longer stacks nested screens. **Close** returns to the game (or the screen you were on) in **one** step, without closing duplicate copies of the selector.
- **Tile preview quality:** Fixed **glitchy / “static”** color noise around the mini skin preview (especially near the head/hat) by **initializing the baked image to transparent** and writing proper transparent pixels where needed, on **both** local and community tile grids.
- **Pagination:** Pressing **K** to open the local skin list now **starts on page 1** by default. Your current page is still **preserved when you resize the window** (it is no longer forced to the page of the currently applied skin on every open).
