# 2.1.5.1
Follow-up patch from a few days ago, making sure all Better Combat bugs are gone and added some new stuff while I was at it.
---
## 🌸 New Biome: Prevernal Meadow
- Semi-snowy version of the Meadows/Plains.
- Figured while I messed with the Summer > Autumn biomes, I'd mess with the Winter > Spring biomes.
- This biome will sit along the new Prevernal biome category along with Windswept Forest (Now Prevernal Forest) and Windswept Hills (Now Prevernal Bamboo Grove).
- All "prevernal" biomes have been rearranged in the biome spawns to better match their neighboring biomes.
- Made the Winter > Spring transitions even smoother.
---
## 🏯 Structures
- All Overworld Structure Sets now use a frequency reduction system so they won't be as overabundant as before.
- Large Surface Mineshaft spawns in more mountainous areas.
---
## 🔧 Misc
- Updated Russian Translations
- Shide recipe now requires Lapis Lazuli.
- Certain Trees bleed into other biomes to make transitions feel smoother.
---
## ⚠️ Important
- Do not use the latest version of Sodium; it has beef with Polytone, which is a dependency for this mod. I am not a Polytone dev, so I can't do anything about it.
- Do not use the newer versions of Polytone; they done fucked up my bamboo models.
- If you are using Better Combat and the animations aren't working, use `/tag @p remove bettercombat_disabled` to re-enable Better Combat. If you noticed it stopped working again after restarting the client, let me know.

# 2.1.5
## 🍂 Leaves and Saplings
- The following Leaves blocks now have a separate Autumnal variant:
- Oak
- Birch
- Black Pine (Spruce)
- Dark Cedar (Dark Oak)
- Keyaki (Acacia)
- Kiso Cypress (Jungle)
- Mangrove
- They use the exact same textures and loot table as their vanilla counterpart but adopt a different biome colormap.
- Since they are a modded block, I get to alter the color they use on vanilla maps. So they'll appear orange/red/yellow on maps instead of regular green.
- For those using BSL: I am providing the block.properties file in the resource channel on my Discord for you to drop into the BSL shaders folder so all my modded leaves and other foliage will be treated as such by the shader pack.
- This may cause some issues with any current worlds containing autumnal biomes. If you have a world with a nice house near the fall leaves, enable the built-in resource pack that reverts the vanilla leaf colors back to 2.1.4.
- Weeping Willow Leaves textures have been reworked to better portray the wisteria theme instead of just the Cherry Leaves with the brightness cranked up.
- However, since I am a fan of the Blossom Leaves, I've added the Weeping Blossom Leaves as its own block that adopts the textures of the previous Weeping Willow Leaves. I've also improved its texture.
- All saplings will grow with their assigned leaves depending on biome season type.
- While I was at it, I made the Dark Cedar Sapling (Dark Oak Sapling) grow into its own tree using a single sapling.
---
## 🎨 New GUI Textures
- Decided to rework the GUI textures from the "vanilla dark mode version" (Which was really just a personal preference of mine I've forced onto y'all) and closer to the Japanese Thematic.
- Made compatible for the following mod GUIs:
- Inventory Next
- Horseman
- Trash Slot
- Just Enough Items
- Certain item textures that would otherwise blend in with the color of the new GUI have their sprites slightly altered for clarity.
---
## ⚔️ Tough Love
- I've come to realize through feedback and personal playtests that this mod was too easy for my Viltrumite playerbase. Mostly around the parry system and the enemies that utilize it. Will be shipping out the following nerfs to make the journey more challenging and meaningful.
### Posture Nerfs
- Enemy max posture health was usually scaled off their max health but had a cap which was way too low; buffing that shit.
- Weapons in general did way too much posture damage, nerfing that shit.
- Perfect parries now only deflect 90% of posture damage instead of 100%.
- Posture regen is slower depending on depleted hunger bars.
- Apparently this whole time, Breaking Player posture only broke you out of a blocking formation for one tick, instead of locking you out of blocking for a few seconds. Fixing that shit.
### Samurai Aggression
- Later game samurai mobs are much more aggressive with their attacks and defense.
- Elite Mobs are now more aggressive than their regular variant.
### Warlord Boss
- The aura this fight had did not match the actual fight difficulty at all. After a few hours of doomscrolling Sigma phonk edits, the Warlord is now MUCH tankier and aggressive.
### Kunai Changes
- Effect durations for Slowness, Poison, and Weakness Kunai have been drastically reduced.
- Kunai now only stack to 16.
- Charge rate for throwing Kunai has been shortened massively to feel more mobile.
- Changes to the recipes that now use various types of flowers and poisons.
### Other
- Ramie grows less fast lol
- Tanto stealth kill cooldown is varied by weapon tier.
---
## 🌫️ Mist Weather
- When I originally made the mist weather event, I tried to have it actually lower the render distance instead of shoving stupid ass particles in your face, but I ran into issues with shaders and Distant Horizons, so I didn't implement it. But now that I'm less selfish, I've brought it back and made it work for Distant Horizons.
- Regular fog mode will commence by default and work properly if you do not have Distant Horizons or Shaders.
- If you do have Distant Horizons, go to the Sengoku Config in the Mod Menu and enable the "Distant Horizons Fog Mode" under the VISUALS tab.
- However, if you're using shaders like me, you might be shit out of luck. Don't enable DH mode if you are using shaders.
- To cope with not being able to use this feature, I made the fog particles fade out once you get close to them so you're not being slapped in the face when running through them.
- This whole thing is kind of a mess, but this should be a net positive for non-shader users.
- Optimized the Volumetric Mist Particles and switched the default setting to enabled.
---
## 🦋 Butterflies and Firefly Particles
- Decided to add some butterflies after a visit to a Butterfly sanctuary recently.
- Come in 4 different colors and spawn during the day, more so around flowers.
- Also included a moth for nighttime.
- Their floating direction is a bit lopsided for now; I'm aware of this, so do not report.
- Added fireflies while I was at it.
- Spawn at night in certain biomes.
---
## 🌿 Biomes
### Serotinal Biomes
- My obsession with sensible biome transitions continues. I've added a couple of new biomes that will serve as bridges from summertime biomes to fall-time biomes. Wouldn't hurt to add, especially with September around the corner.
- Will spawn in temperatures 0.2/0.4
- Biomes Include:
- Serotinal Plains
- Serotinal Forest
- Serotinal Birch Forest
- Serotinal Bamboo Forest
- Silver Grass Fields and Old Growth Pine Taiga (Now renamed to Serotinal Taiga) will be listed as Serotinal Biomes.
- Green > Yellow > Orange should be a much more natural leaf color shift than Green > Orange.
- Remember when this mod was about samurai?
### New Biomes
- **Autumnal Dark Forest** — Realized the tall trees of the Autumnal Hotsprings look better when it has an actual forest of tall trees to accompany it.
- **Marshlands** — I know the Mangrove Swamp went under this exact name, but I reverted that to introduce this one. Will serve as a transition bridge between Mangrove Swamps and other Autumnal Biomes with rich warm colors. Uses the minecraft:eroded_badlands biome ID. Does not come with the hardcoded Bryce Canyon formations.
### Other Biome Changes
- Frozen Oceans and Deep Frozen Oceans are back! Managed to remove the hardcoded Antarctic-like glaciers that didn't fit the theme.
- Since minecraft:frozen_ocean, minecraft:deep_frozen_ocean and minecraft:eroded_badlands are reintroduced, the "Discover All Biomes" vanilla advancement is now possible again.
- Changes to the Autumnal Forest to be more subtle and less crowded.
- Koyo Forests should be less rare now.
- Mangrove Swamp trees now have more visible roots.
- Made the "Mangrove Roots" texture actually match the Mangrove Log.
- Optimized the Forest and Suisho Caves biomes so world gen should be much faster now.
- A lot of autumnal trees will now use the new autumnal leaves.
- Tightened temperature requirements for Suisho and Limestone Caves.
- Spooky ambient fog spawns in the Deep Dark.
- Glowstone now spawns in Suisho Caves.
---
## 🏯 Structures
- Think I finally managed to balance the spawn frequencies of the overworld fortresses and castles.
- Villages no longer spawn near Burnt Plains.
- Made Mineshafts a bit more elaborate.
- Added some new rooms.
- Spiced up the decor to be more randomized.
- Now home to numerous Dorotabo who fell victim to Feudal Slave Wage.
- Bandit Camps are more common but have a tiny variant.
- Both Bandit and Samurai Outposts come in different varieties.
- Warlord Castle tweaks.
---
## 🔧 Misc Changes
- Skeletons that spawn with shields now carry on the Blocking Goal the samurai mobs use.
- Visuals of blocked attacks will be different since they're using wooden shields.
- Skeletons will have low posture health.
- Sarugami will also adopt the Blocking Goal if a weapon is held.
- Perfect Parries now grant an immense attack speed boost for a single attack.
- Ashigaru stopped being idiots and will actually try to snipe you from a distance instead of running up to you.
- Sleeping in a Goza Mat now sets your spawn point without erasing your last regular bed's spawn. So if the Goza Mat is destroyed or otherwise unavailable, you'll fall back to your regular bed instead of the world spawn.
- Tea Haste buff lasts 3 minutes instead of 10 seconds.
- We deserve nice things.
- Villagers can sleep on Goza Mats.
- Wooden Weapons no longer use the "Sekiro Steel weapon parry" sound and instead use the basic wooden shield sound.
- Ronin, Samurai, Warlord, Goryo, etc now use their own model separate from the Vindicator to simplify the model and thus optimize framerate when many are present.
- Shides are much more effective.
- Mobs that flee from shides run super far so they don't fall in a loop of walking back.
- If you feel like this is causing tick lag, turn it off in the mod menu config.
- Hakushika (Camels) now use the horse step sound that actually matches its movement.
- Buffed attack speed for the Mace for those using the Better Combat Mod.
- Nerfed the amount of Shikkui you get from the Clay+Graveled Limestone recipe, but made the Shikkui ore yield more Shikkui.
- Made offhand consumables override weapon blocking.
- Will allow you to use wind charges with the mace again.
- Outlaw Samurai (Vindicators) now actually use the modded attack goal like the other Samurai, so it feels less clunky.
- Music transitions for Burnt Ruins and Deep Dark are much more subtle now so you won't constantly be switching back by moving 1 block.
- Added EMF support for the Macaque so it has proper FreshAnimations-type movement like the other mobs.
- This, however, removes its grooming animation; I'll look into this in the future.
- Maikubi no longer uses the vanilla Wither death sound.
- Maikubi no longer drops blaze rods.
- Ubagabi (Blaze) only drops blaze rods in Yomi (Nether).
- Trapped a monkey under a mountain for 500 years for pissing on my hand.
- Birds no longer follow random mobs so they don't get stuck in rivers.
- Kaichigo Shells can be found in Shrine Chests.
- Post Warlord Gashadokuro spawns don't have a boss bar.
- Shinobi have a sound/particle indicator when they're about to throw a kunai.
- Shinobi will occasionally throw smoke bombs.
- Made the Smite enchantment back to focus undead mobs instead of all yokai.
- Updated Russian Translations — Credit to sssooo2
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that prevented offhand shields from overwriting weapon blocking.
- Fixed a recipe bug that caused certain recipes to craft into Hay Blocks.
- Fixed numerous grammar issues in the lang file.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Might enchantment to not appear in the enchanting table.
- Fixed a music bug that caused a Castle Combat track to cut out early.
- Tanto kills no longer trigger combat music.
- Fixed a bug that caused 2 Ronin not to attack you while fighting.
- Fixed a bug that prevented Cranes from flying away from moving horses.
- Resized the Wheat Item model to not be the size of Tim Buck Two.

## 🏘️ Villager QoL and Other Changes
- The Villagefolk and the Ronin have made amends. Ronin will no longer target or kill Villagers, Damajin/Iron Golem won't attack them, and Villagers will not flee from them.
- They still will, however, attack you on sight and spawn among bandits, who will continue to hunt Villagers.
- Music transition from Village > Other has been changed so the music starting point is no longer in the same place as the music out-of-bounds radius of the structure. So if you build your house next to a village, you will no longer hear the music constantly transitioning between VILLAGE > DAY > VILLAGE > DAY while building your house.
- The same has been applied to castles.
- Villager kimono textures come in more varieties depending on biome season.
- Fisherman jobs are limited to one per Fishing Net block instead of two.
- Fishing Nets now rotate along the structures they spawn.
- A lot of the furniture for village houses has been randomized. This makes houses feel a little less repetitive and predictable, and adds more room for more job options.
- Made villagers flee a little bit faster.
- Village Raid enemies no longer spawn on top of trees.
- Outside Enemy mobs no longer spawn during a raid.
---
## 🌊 Ryugu-jō
- Did a playthrough and it was still boring as shit so I made these changes.
- Revamped the terrain, no longer a flat, endless ocean of nothing, but now includes massive arching hills with waterfalls. Will let the screenshots speak for themselves.
- Newer chunks may be a little bit laggy at first due to the amount of waterfalls stretching themselves out.
- Made a lot of the mobs harder but spawn in smaller numbers to reduce lag.
- The Iconic 4 Seasons Temple is much rarer due to the more elevated terrain, but the chests in Sea Temple chests now have a chance to contain a map pointing to the nearest 4 Seasons Temple (End City).
- Umi Inu now spawns in Ryugu-jō.
- Nerfed the damage boost Akugyo has in Ryugu-jō.
- Texture changes for the dragon particles.
- Remodeled the Dragon Head (Wani Head) and the Dragon Egg (Wish Bearing Pearl).
- Added a new ambient track.
- Adjusted Ryujin's hurt sounds.
- Added Shikkui Ore to Ryugu-jō for you to mine XP.
### End Poem/Credits Changes
- Added Kofi Supporters, Translators, and other active supporters in the Discord.
- Changed Text Color.
- Actually muted the Ryugu-jō ambient music during the credits this time.
---
## 🪽 Elytra/Tengu Wings
- Tengu Wings need to be crafted now from the new Item: Tengu Feather.
- The Tengu Feather can be found in chests in the 4 Seasons Palace/End City. Same place the Elytra used to be.
---
## 🔧 Utility
### Built-in Resource Packs
- **Optimized Leaves** — Removes the bushy effect and reverts to their normal state, similar to vanilla, for those on lower-end PCs or if you prefer the old style.
- **Glowing Ores** — Adds emissive textures to ores.
- **MSG Alert Resource Pack** — Replaces the Enemy Detection sound with the iconic "!" sound.
- You know the one.
### Crafting/Recipe Changes
- Attempting to craft a vanilla stone pickaxe will output a written book to provide you with context on the iron/tamahagane changes.
- Added ALL foliage-like items to the list of blocks that can be crafted into Hay Block.
- Implemented "two slabs into one plank" recipes for all wood types.
- Will probably do the same for the rest of the slabs in the future.
- All Shoji-related blocks (Single, Double, and Triple Doors, Panels, Frames, Dyed Frames, etc) can now be crafted into a single stick for those wanting to deal with cluttered extra Shoji.
- 4 Netherrack can now be crafted into a single Nether/Yomi Brick to deal with excessive Netherrack.
- Jukebox Music will mute current ambient music.
- However, I was only able to get it to detect Jukeboxes that have a disc inside, not if the jukebox is playing music. So please remember to take the disc out to hear ambient music again.
---
## 🏯 Structure Changes
- Castles are rarer and no longer outclass Bandit Outposts and Samurai Outposts.
- Various structures have randomized furniture.
- Iron Golem/Damajin now spawn in pagodas.
- Reduced mob spawn rate in the 4 Seasons Palace/End City.
- Castles try to spawn on semi-flat surfaces.
- Castle Ruins chest loot has a chance to contain a map leading to the nearest Warlord Castle.
---
## 🔩 Misc Changes
- Reworked the particles for Umi-Bōzu and Ryujin "splash" effect.
- Reworked Item sprites for all porcelain sherds and banner patterns.
- Reworked Porcelain Textures.
- Made Umi Nyobu, Clan Samurai, much more aggressive.
- Buffed Warlord's base armor.
- Gashadokuro will now naturally spawn at night once you've defeated the Warlord.
- May tweak this in the future.
- Ikuchi and Umi-Bōzu will have a long cooldown period between spawns.
- Ikuchi no longer spawns in Deep Lukewarm Oceans (Where the Stronghold spawns).
- Adjusted Akugyo attack patterns.
- Nerfed Abandoned Manor Loot Table.
- Made the Bloodgood forest a bit more sparse.
- Warlord and Akugyo now heal over time when out of combat.
- Remodeled the Gaki to be skinnier.
- Texture changes for Dorotabo.
- Texture changes for numerous blocks.
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed bug that caused Umi-Bōzu to moonwalk.
- Adjusted Ikuchi's hitbox to match its model.
- Fixed bug that caused Double/Triple Shoji to duplicate or break when in contact with flowing water.
- Villagers no longer flee from Clan Samurai.
- Fixed Hitotsume Nyudo spawn rules.
- Fixed bug that prevented Yuki-Onna from spawning during regular snowfall.
- Fixed bug that gave Bandits incredibly long melee range.
- Fixed bug that prevented Samurai Mobs from holding up their weapon while blocking.
- Outlaw Samurai (Vanilla vindicators) now have their item rendered in their hand properly instead of concealed.
- Made World Gen a bit faster by optimizing a file that messed with beard boxes.

## 🌊 New Mobs
### Umi Inu (Sea Dog)
- Vicious sea predators with shark-like behavior
- Spawn in deep oceans and gnaw on boats
- Faster swimming speed than the player, but not faster than boats.
### Ikuchi
- A giant eel that spawns very deep in the ocean.
- Massive health, barely faster than boats.
- Has a unique attack pattern that involves circling the player in between attacks, so the fight doesn't take place inside the eel's model.
- Made up of multiple entities similar to Omukade and Ryujin.
### Umi-Bōzu (The actual one)
- Finally got around to adding the most iconic sea monster in Japanese folklore.
- Will emerge from the depths on calm nights and apply a huge slow debuff to your boat and attempt to sink it.
- Attacking Umi-Bōzu will break you free from the boat's slow debuff for a few seconds.
- Throwing a Barrel (Similar to Gold and Piglins) into the water will cause Umi-Bōzu to get completely distracted, allowing you a chance to escape.
- The current Umi-Bōzu (Retextured elder guardian) will be renamed to Uo-Bōzu and will remain as an in-lore variant of Umi-Bōzu, since it is still based on the depiction of Umi-Bōzu in the Bakemono no e series of artworks.
- I made all three of these mobs over an extended weekend, so if you feel like they're underdeveloped, don't worry, they will probably get some changes.
- Pls no suggestions, I need to add stuff on my own accord.
- Fan art suggestions are appreciated.
---
## 🦎 Mob Changes
- **Umi Nyobu** — More aggressive with attacks. Now spawn in Ryujin's Second Phase.
- **Bandits** — Slightly nerfed attack damage.
- **Ronin** — Will now "slowly aurafarm" walk towards you during patrols, giving you time to kill the savage bandits before facing them.
- **Akugyo** — Added the circling attack AI used for Ikuchi.
- **Kojin and Ningyo** — Much faster when in water.
### Ryujin Rework
- Reworked boss fight in overall thematics.
- The music track (From Sekiro) has been properly organized into phase 1 and phase 2.
- Lighting and violent winds shake up the boss island during the second phase.
- Umi Nyubo will now spawn during Ryujin's second phase.
- Particles for the dragon's breath have been changed.
- Adjusted its movements so the pieces don't offset during vertical movements (most of the time).
---
## ⚔️ Combat Changes
- Added a vertical slash to the Yari to make it less boring.
- Adjusted and polished overall weapon combos.
---
## 🌿 New Biomes
### Cave Biomes
- **Caverns** — A light mix of Dripstone Caves and Lush Caves. Features large mushrooms, grassy floors, stone lanterns, and sometimes trees. Serves as the main cave biome for Verdant Regions.
- **Dripstone Caves (Reworked)** — Heavily modified to mimic the caves in Akiyoshido. All Vanilla Red Sand blocks have been reworked into a limestone thematic, serving as the "base stone." Features luminous green pools that light up the caverns. New Limestone Variants for each Ore block in a similar style to Deepslate. Serves as the main cave biome for Autumnal Regions.
- **Suisho Caves** — Loosely based on the real-life "ice caves" in Narusawa. Features an immense amount of Suisho Crystal (Reworked Amethyst) clusters and stalactites which illuminate the caverns. Packed Ice Stalactites also appear in the higher areas. Serves as the main cave biome for Wintry Regions.
### Surface Biomes
- **Autumnal River** — River but autumnal.
- **Autumnal Beach** — Beach but autumnal. This is just to keep water and foliage color consistent with neighboring biomes.
### General Biome Changes
- The super-tall sugi trees now have a maximum height they can spawn at.
- Old Growth Pine Taiga has slightly shifted from the Autumnal category and more to the Verdant > Autumnal transition biome category. The overall biome itself is still the same.
- Removed the mud from Windswept Gravelly Hills and renamed the biome to Gravely Shores.
- Made the transitions between ocean biomes smoother and less abrupt.
---
## 🌍 World Gen Changes
- This may be another "you might want to start a new world" type update.
- Smoothened the mountains once again.
- Replaced the wacky terrain that normally spawns in vanilla windswept biomes with more natural mountains.
- Touch-ups to Ryugu features.
---
## 🏯 Structure Changes
### New Structure: Bandit Camps
- I woke up one night and realized that the only dedicated structure the bandits have happened to be the largest castle in the game. Didn't make sense.
- Follows a similar style to current lesser samurai outposts, but much more rugged and has no castle.
- Serves as an early game version of Samurai Outposts without the consequence of getting an entire clan to hate you.
- Loot contains stolen village crops, sake, and maps leading to other villages.
### Other Structure Changes
- **Inari Shrines** — Mobs that hunt foxes, such as wolves and bears, will now be repelled from this structure. Allowing the non-moving Foxes in the shrine to be completely protected.
- **Lighthouses** — Now has a dedicated loot table containing fermented water breathing sake, paper lanterns, and maps to villages and other structures.
- **Swamp Huts** — Also have their own randomized loot table, containing multiple variants of medicines.
- **Boats** — No longer spawn in Deep Oceans and just regular Oceans.
- **Yomi Castles** — Reduced Goryo spawning to reduce the FPS drops they cause.
- **Loot Chest Placements** — Most chest placements in each structure are now randomized to make things less repetitive and urge players who have seemingly memorized structures (such as myself) to explore other areas for chests.
---
## 🌕 Moon Cycle Feature
- Surface monster spawn rate is drastically changed depending on the moon phase.
- Full Moon monster spawn rates start at 0%.
- Spawn rates gradually increase to 100% at a Blood Moon (New Moon) and back to 0% when at a Full Moon.
- Certain mobs that are spawned manually like Oni Patrols, Omukade, and Kuchisake-Onna will still spawn.
- Underground mob spawn rate will remain the same.
- I know this game was made as a zombie survival game, but with the amount of tree canopies and dark spaces allowed monster spawns to linger even during the daytime. Besides, there's beauty in the Night, both in real life and in-game. And it's hard to bask in the nice nighttime ambience when you're constantly getting interrupted by combat music shifts and the Sekiro "spotted by enemy" sound effect. I needed some nighttime serenity that didn't require me to place torches everywhere, which would defeat the purpose.
- I'll probably make a config slider on this in the future, but with the amount of valid criticisms of mobs overspawning, I think this change will be viewed positively.
---
## 🎨 Block/Item Texture Changes
### Red Sand Blocks (Reworked)
- Red Sandstone → Cobbled Limestone
- Smooth Red Sandstone → Limestone
- Red Sand → Graveled Limestone
- Cut Red Sandstone → Limestone Bricks
- Chiseled Red Sandstone → Chiseled Limestone
### Other Texture Changes
- **Amethyst Blocks and Shards** — Budding Amethyst Blocks and Amethyst Shards now glow with emissive textures.
- **All Purpur Blocks** — Now reworked to Crystal Shingles. To be crafted from an excessive amount of Amethyst Blocks.
- Dripstone Blocks
- Stonecutter
- All Rails
- Green and Purple Wool (Linen) Block
- **Horn Coral** — Now teal instead of yellow.
- Sandstone Bricks
- All 'Chiseled' Blocks
- Shears
- Clock
- Heart of the Sea
- Glowstone Dust
---
## 🎵 Sounds
- Replaced Sarugami Sounds
- All combat music has been snipped and divided into many 60-second music clips, removing repetition.
- While the system usually revolves around 3 or more mobs being aggro to the player, larger mobs are now enough to trigger the music by themselves.
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed the bug that caused the exit portal after the dragon fight to not spawn.
- I think at least — this wasn't an easy bug to recreate, so I don't know if it 100% worked.
- Fixed bug that had Ryugu music playing during end credits.
- Fixed bug that caused Mist Weather to spread to other worlds when switching sessions.
- Fixed bug that prevented the End City achievement.
- Copper doors now use the vanilla hitbox instead of the sliding door hitbox.
- Fixed bug that prevented Shides from working.
---
## ⚠️ Known Issues
- Missing Subtitle translations
- Shinobi Lord Boss room not 100% spawning
- Abandoned Dojo coming in contact with the Abandoned Mineshaft and other underground structures.

Small update this month.
## ⚔️ Combat Adjustments
- Added a 'weak' parry variant along with the normal and perfect parries.
- Has its own sound
- Meant to make the current parry sound feel less repetitive.
- Enemies blocking will use this new sound if the blocked damage isn't above a certain threshold.
- Nerfed Yari attack speed.
---
## 🌍 World Gen Adjustments
- Distant road jigsaw pieces will NO LONGER generate above tree tops.
- Apparently, this was only a problem I faced, but it's fixed nevertheless.
- Lower elevated terrain (Swamps and sometimes Rivers) will no longer dig past Y=63 unless it's a body of water. This bug caused many terrain hiccups in swamps, where the loose, flowing bodies of water would flood themselves on 'over-lowered' terrain.
- If you are playing on a pre-existing world, I advise you to use the datapack "Sengoku Old Terrain Height" within the mod file in the "datapacks" folder. Because it will create irregularly heighted terrain on newer loaded chunks, and I don't want to ruin anyone's worlds.
---
## 🏘️ Villager AI
- I gave villagers proper survival instincts when it comes to fleeing hostile yokai. They will now try to run inside their homes, and if unable, they will run behind the nearest Iron Golem/Damajin for safety.
---
## 🌨️ Yuki-Onna
- Now has a much more secure spawn and only spawns around players who have the Diamond advancement.
---
## 💀 Shinobi Lord
- Shinobi Lord can now teleport towards the player.
- Shinobi Lord should no longer teleport to a spot that's a block between the player and him.
- Tuned up the Kunai Entity so it doesn't glitch upon deflecting.
---
## 🏯 Structures
### Abandoned Dojo
- Adjusted things to ensure the boss room spawns
- No promises tho.
- Only spawns in biomes with thick forests.
### Pagodas
- Added 2 new 'common' variants made of black pine and oak to make the others feel less repetitive.
### Castles
- Kobayakawa and Satomi castle variants use their own building materials.
- Outside tents shouldn't spawn in mid-air now.
- Fixed some samurai mobs spawning in the wrong castles.
---
## 🌿 Biomes
- Added some new biome transition elements. Mainly for the Burnt Plains and Windswept Graveley Hills.
- Organized the biome tag system.
---
## 🔧 Misc Changes
- Hitotsume Nyudo and Sarugami now burn in the sun.
- Blocks that bleed onto other blocks with the Continuity Mod (Moss, Grass, Snow) are now cast a larger net in the blocks they bleed onto.
- Texture changes to:
- Redstone Lantern
- Glowstone
- Copper bulbs/doors/grates
- Yuki-Onna
- Added a debug command for me to make sure things are going smoothly.
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed Stutter lag caused by Yuki-Onna spawn workarounds.
- World features such as Lava Pools, Geodes, and Monster rooms now try to avoid most underground structures.
- Ronin Combat Music resetting too early.
- Added a 'sweet spot' when transitioning Y levels for Surface/Underground/DeepUnderground music so you're not constantly switching between tracks.
---
## ⚠️ Known Issues
- Still need to fix onsen particles coming up all the way to the surface from deep underground.
- Shinobi Lord Boss room not 100% spawning
- Abandoned Dojo coming in contact with the Abandoned Mineshaft and other underground structures.
- Double/Triple Shoji Door bugs and Sinatra.
- Dark Cedar Shikkui Pillars, Chiseled, and Bricks do not have Yomi textures.
- Superflat Worlds
- End Portal not spawning.

- Reworked the Aomori Isles biome into a beautiful lavender island.
- Biome has more open area variants, so it's not too cluttered.
- Added more Wisteria Elements
- Bubble and Tube corals can be found at the shores
- Purple Wisteria Trees
- Hitokai are purple now too lmao

### Overworld Pathways
- Overworld Pathways have been tuned up
- Won't spawn over steep cliffs or inside rivers.
- Foliage-heavy trees, such as bushes and the new sugi trees, will spawn a few blocks further from the pathways and all dirt paths in general.
- This should also remove a lot of clutter from forest village roads.

### Mob Changes
- Maikubi Nerfs
- Goryo spawn nerfs.
- Gaki should no longer spawn near soul torches.
- Reduced Giant Salamander spawn rate in rivers.
### Miscellaneous
- Divine Kaki (Enchanted Golden Apple) now uses its own textures
- Lily Pads now have biome-dependent colors.
- Approved a giant data center near the dying Great Salt Lake in Box Elder County, Utah.
- Magma blocks no longer spawn in underground rivers to prevent an overabundance of onsen mist.
- Removed Carp (Samon) from spawning in Oceans due to being a freshwater fish.
### Texture Support
- Trashslot (Gui)
- Horseman (Gui and Copper Horn Item texture)
### Language Support
- Vietnamese Language Support for the Sengoku Mod aspects. (Vanilla lang still needs a Vietnamese translation.)
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Footsoilder ❌ Footsolider ❌ Footsoldier ✅
- Fixed bug that caused Taiga Trees to float over structures.
- Yuki-Onna just wasn't spawning at all for the past few months.
- Fixed the bug that prevented servers from starting
- I think lol
- Fixed the "Yokai Completionist" Achievement.

## ⚔️ Combat Overhaul
### Perfect Parry
- Blocking an attack right on time now inflicts a perfect parry and will knock back the enemy a tiny bit and redirect some of the posture damage to them.
- Has its own sound (Also from Sekiro) and doubles the particles
- Breaking enemy poise should have much more of an effect.
- Posture damage stats are now visible on all weapons.
- Players now have a visible posture meter
- Samurai melee attack particles are now more on par and accurate to when theyre going to deal damage. So no more delays.
- You can now block from all directions
---
## 🔩 Iron/Tamahagane
- Raw Iron drop rate from Iron Ore has been nerfed.
- Iron Sand now exclusively spawns at the shoreline Y level, so you don't have to go scuba diving to get it.
- Tamahagane Upgrade Template now has 2 legitimate recipes fit for a smithing template
- One recipe is meant to be expensive and a onetime craft.
- The other is less expensive and outputs 2 Upgrade Templates, but requires the first Upgrade Template
- The Tamahagane Smithing Template now displays the ingredients and uses in the toolbar, similar to the vanilla Netherite Smithing Template.
---
## 🏘️ Villager Trading
- I've hacked into the epic mainframe of village trading and played around with their inventory stash to sell or buy my modded items.
- Farmers will now buy rice.
- Leatherworkers will sell tantos and shinobi cloth.
- Butchers have been renamed to 'Impures', an outcast class of people in feudal Japan who were looked down upon for their work of butchering and leatherworks
- They will be the new purchaser of Rotten Flesh instead of the Monks.
---
## 👻 New Mob: Shiryo
- The Shiryo is now its own registered mob instead of a renamed villager with a fixed inventory.
- They are transparent, similar to Goryo, and are immune to wither and fire effects.
- They sell and purchase numerous Yomi-related items.
---
## 🥷 Shinobi AI Rework
- They now spawn in patrols at night and stalk the player.
- They now have the melee combat system goal along with their ranged kunai attacks.
- They now drop Tattered Shinobi Cloth, which is used to craft the shinobi armor pieces.
---
## 💀 New Boss: Shinobi Lord
- A new mob meant to replace the current Shinobi Boss.
- Switches between melee attack goals and kunai throwing.
- Has a second phase.
- Drops the Ryoshin Upgrade Template on death.
---
## 🥋 Shinobi Armor Set
- The Shinobi Armor set is no longer obtained directly after killing the shinobi boss but instead must be crafted from the Ryoshin Upgrade Template, Tattered Shinobi Cloth, and Leather Armor pieces at the Smithing Table.
- The Shinobi Armor Set is no longer unbreakable.
---
## 🏯 New Structure: Abandoned Dojo
- A Hidden Shinobi Lair with multiple redstone puzzles, traps, and secret doors.
- Starts as a surface structure you can enter from, similar to Mineshafts
- May contain the reworked Shinobi Boss. I tried to make it guaranteed with lithostatic magic, but due to the structure being a surface/underground hybrid and the boss stage being huge, it's hard to ensure its spawn without messing with the rest of the structure.
---
## ⭐ Elite Mobs
The following mobs now have elite variants with new textures and will either spawn randomly or by hardcoded circumstances:
- Ronin
- Goryo
- Kobayakawa, Satomi, and Takeda Samurai
- Shinobi
- Outlaw Samurai
---
## 🏛️ Reworked Warlord Boss
- As you've seen in the video I posted, I've reworked the overall tone of this boss fight, including new music for both phases, new voice lines, and an overall stronger moveset.
- The Warlord will no longer drop the Blade of the Kensei or the Daimyo Armor sets on death. He will now drop the Seigun Smithing Template.
---
## 🗡️ Reworked Warlord-tier Gear
- Like the other Smithing Templates, you'll need to duplicate the Seigun Smithing Template in order to use it multiple times on your Diamond or Hi'hirokane Gear.
- Secondary ingredients will be the Broken Hilt and Armor pieces, which can be found in castle chests.
- Blade of the Kensei is no longer alone; the rest of the weapons will now get their own equivalent:
- Naginata of the Nobushi
- Kanabo of Otakemaru
- Tetsubo of the Hatamoto
- Odachi of the Shugodai
- Yari of the Taisho
- Tanto of Tamatori Hime
- Splitting Axe of Kintaro
- All including Hihirokane Upgrades
- If these inspire new suggestions for you guys, I suggest you keep them to yourselves.
---
## 🔥 Yomi/Nether
### New Structure: Yomi Castle
- The Goryo have officially declared themselves an official samurai clan and have fortified their own castles in Yomi.
- They may feel a little bit empty at the moment compared to the other overworld structures, so pls be patient.
### Bastion Remnants
- Since I used the current style of the Bastion Remnants for the new Yomi Castle structure, I've reworked the overall structure to be more rugged and feral, as if it were built by actual oni.
- Bastion Remnant Loot Chests will still be available in both structures.
### General Yomi Changes
- Most Yomi Structures now follow the same spawn rules as Vanilla Nether Structures and will spawn along the terrain instead of a fixed Y level.
- Added and reworked numerous Yomi foliage and trees.
- Loot Tables for certain plant blocks have been changed in the Nether to prevent unwanted inventory buildups.
- Blocks such as Crafting Tables, Scaffoldings, Barrels, Looms, Bookshelves, Spruce Planks, and ALL Dark Cedar Materials have texture changes when placed in the Yomi Dimension instead of some cheap color overlay.
- This took a long time. Most Shoji Frame blocks consist of over 230 textures. Remember my suggestions policy.
- Removed the 'Lava Leak' features in all biomes save the Basalt Deltas/Soul of Kagusutchi
- I did this to prevent a lot of structures from burning up
---
## 🌿 Biomes
### New Biome: Autumnal Bamboo Forest
- Bamboo Forest but yellow lol
### Forest Biome Reworks
- I've been relearning how to make trees again and have made these really cool and super tall Sugi trees that I've fallen in love with. These groves will serve as variants within the Forest, Taiga, and Dark Forest biomes.
- I recommend installing Tree Harvester lol.
- The Forest Biome now features more deciduous trees than before, so it's not just a Taiga 2.0
### Mountains
- Mountain Peaks in the overworld have been smoothed out a bit
- Jagged Peaks is now more rocky and less snowy than the Frozen Peaks
---
## 🗺️ Structures
- **Trail Ruins** — This last untouched vanilla structure has been reworked into a burial chamber filled with graves and archaeological finds. Another Underground Structure that starts as a surface structure.
- **Abandoned Dojos** — See above for details
- **Yomi Castles** — See above for details.
- **Abandoned Manors** — Removed the Shinobi
- **Overworld Castles** — One of the more common large castles you usually see is no longer exclusive to Clan Takeda and can be owned by Satomi or Kobayakawa.
- **Burnt Villages** — Block palette changes to be more accurate.
- **Burnt Pagodas** — Has a variant that's actively being burnt to the ground.
- **Graveyards** — Tombstones are now randomized and placed through individual jigsaw pieces instead of being a fixed set.
- **Inari Shrines** — New Shrine Variants
- **Shinto Shrines** — Nerfed the chest loot table to be more early game friendly.
- **Clearings** — Removed from the mod
---
## 🪨 Dry Gardens
- Sand, Gravel, and White Mizugone Powder can now be raked using the Zen Garden Rake to spice up your Japanese Garden. No more needing to compromise with the suspicious sand/gravel blocks.
- Overall shape is determined similarly to rails, but you can alter the shape by rightclicking again like a debug stick.
- Walking on the raked garden will render it back to its original block.
- You can crouch on them, though.
---
## 🔧 Misc
- Reworked soundbase for Boars, Deer, Ashigaru, and Omukade.
- Samurai mobs such as Ronin, Goryo, and Clanned Samurai have "attack" voice lines bc its cool.
- Villagers have a new hurt sound.
- Added some new music
- Certain Mobs will only spawn after the player has advanced certain stages of the game.
- Goryo won't spawn until the player has mined diamonds.
- Omukade (outside of Lush Caves) and Ushi Oni won't spawn until the player has obtained Tamahagane Armor.
- Shinobi Patrols won't spawn unless certain predicates are met.
- Honest to god, I actually haven't even been able to test the shinobi patrols yet, so the chances of this not working are all possible.
- Added new dialogue options in the Hideo Kojima romance sidequest.
- Tuned the duration of how long music tracks will play before starting a new track to avoid less awkward silent moments.
- Stone Lanterns now require Candles instead of Torches in their recipe.
- Oni Brutes have knockback built into their attacks, so you don't get stun locked and die instantly.
- All mobs now have that "sweep sound and particle" attack to hopefully make their melee attacks more readable.
---
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Added in the missing loot tables for Stone Lanterns
- Made it possible to tame Deer.
- Deer no longer flee from creative mode players.
- Fix the Crow Spawning (again)
- Knowing my luck, this will be back, that or the person who pointed this out was on an old version. If so, that would make me really sour.
- Kodama Nezumi/Creepers are now fully exempt from the stealth system and will return to their vanilla behavior. Making them the ones who sneak up on you, not the other way around.
- Removed the whole onsen tick system in Yomi/Nether to avoid the massive stutter near magma blocks.
- Removed Tree Sap from dropping from Leaves that have been dropped via shears.
- Omukade no longer spawns in water.
- All non-Burnt Plains Structures no longer spawn in the Burnt Plains, so they won't overlap with the biome's exclusive structures.

- I haven't even gotten to Warlord tier stuff in my personal test playthrough.
- Superflat Worlds
- Samurai mobs and bandits having the attention span of a goldfish.
- Road structure pieces covering tree tops on distantly loaded structures.
- Some achievement glitches.

GENERAL CHANGES:
-FULLY optimized onsen water. You won't need to turn it off in a config anymore.
- The mod will now NO LONGER RUN when the client doesn't have any version of Lithostitched, Entity Texture Features, Entity Model Features, Continuity, and Polytone. This should prevent people from asking me why X isn't working in my Discord server.
-However, if you are using some weird alternative to these mods, remove them from the dependencies in the fabric.mod.json file in the mod file.
-Bandit Patrol spawn rates are reduced to 40% within 5 chunks of a player's spawn bed.
- They should also no longer spawn in player-made light.
-Shoji Frames that don't have paper in their recipe now have their default placement state be paperless
- You can add to the shoji by adding paper.
-Recipe changed for the painting.
-Text and subtitles can now be accessed and modified in the lang files for anyone wishing to translate the mod to their own language.
-Additions to the fog/mist weather event that has a chance of occurring after rainfall.
-Another set of fog particles has been added to the event, however due to optimization, it is disabled by default, so you will have to enable it if you have Mod Menu installed.
-Particles are limited based on nearby entities to prevent frame drops.
-Some structure placement changes.
-New Kiso Cypress version of the Micro village.
-Outcast Villager structures will no longer spawn inside fortresses.
-Tried playing around with adding custom beard box sizes, didn't really work, but maybe some of it did.
-Added a new dirt block called “Coarse Farm Dirt”. The only reason I added it was to have a block to use for empty paddy field farm structure pieces without having trees and grass spawning on top of them.
BUGS:
-Removed the tatami duplication glitch.
-Obtaining Izanami tears from Weeping Willow Leaves can now only be done in Yomi.
-Izanami Tears can now be found in Izanami Temples (Nether fortress alt).
-Having a sword in your offhand will properly display it as sheathed in your model appearance.
-Limited Crow spawning in Burnt Plains.
-Limited Tengu spawning in Ryugu
-Fixed the bug where you die in the game you die in real life.
-Fixed the Shinobi Music from fading out just by walking behind a block.
-Trims and Enchantables can now be applied to White and Black Sando/Straw Hats and Capes.
-Fixed swapped lang files for Russian/Chinese Translations that were graciously provided for me.
BIOMES
-Added several biome transition features using the power of Lithostiched to make clashing environments feel more natural.
-Several new additions to the Swamp and Marsh biome, such as mossy rocks and willow mangrove trees.
BLOCKS:
-New ‘willow vines’ for Sakura and Mangrove trees.
-Diorite, Andesite, and Tuff Stone Lanterns.
-Coarse Farmland, details above.
TEXTURES:
-New Ronin variants.
-Reworked Straw hat model/textures.
-New item textures for the map and paper.
-Desaturated the shit out of the Spawn Dolls/eggs because I hate fun.

END UPDATE:
Ryūgū (The End) is gonna have numerous changes to make it feel more alive (more than Mojang could ever lmao)
- New Mob: Umi nyōbō. High damage melee/ranged hybrid enemies equipped with diamond naginatas, and also adapt the blocking system that the enemy ronin/samurai/goryo have.
- New Mob: Ningyo, a mermaid mob that spawns in high numbers and are faster version of Kojin/Kappa/Drowned. Nothing much, just needed a simple common hostile mob in the End
- New Coral Trees.
- Akugyo will be much more aggressive now and will make you think twice before entering the water.
- She also breathes fire now.
- New Temple structure
- The tall "sea lanterns" you see everywhere have been replaced by very tall and thin pagodas. (They'll be empty too, theyre just decor)
- The mobs above will have a great amount of health and damage, fitting for a late-game area. I myself have hardly tested it. I also made the pink brain coral orange cup coral instead.
NEW BIOMES:
- Ginkgo Grove
- Spider Lily Fields
- Surprise Lily Fields
- Kerria Fields, Spawning in summer climates. Inspired by the opening flower fields in Ghost of Yotei
- Rose Fields, Spawning in autumn climates. Inspired by a location in Ghost of Tsushima
- The current Hotsprings biome (eroded_badlands), Snowy Dark Forest (deep_frozen_ocean), and Snowy Forest (frozen_ocean) are now their own separate biomes to avoid hardcoded icebergs and Bryce Canyon formations.
- Autumnal Hotsprings
- Snowy Hot Springs
- Vernal Hotsprings
Other:
- Ginkgo, Maple leaves, and saplings
- Straw Capes, Straw Hats, and Sando Hats have black/white variants.
- Proper CEM Animations (FreshAnimations style) for Villagers, Red Crowned Crane, Yamauba and Yuki-Onna
- Village heightmap placements through lithostiched have been adjusted so it's less strict depending on the size of the structure (This may make micro villages way more common than they should be, will look into it if it becomes an issue)
-New stone lanterns separated by stone type.
- Cobblestone Lantern
- Mossy Cobblestone Lantern
- Cobbled Deepslate Lantern
- Stone Brick Lantern
- Mossy Stone Brick Lantern
- Shikkui blocks for each wood type, so it's no longer limited to Shirasu Kabe
- Added a brief delay to stealth expiration when exiting tall grass, so stepping down a block doesn't reveal you
- Added built-in step height attributes to any boot items that grant you extra jump strenght so stepping up one block doesn't take twice as long as it should
- Upgraded the Sakura Temples to actually have housing extending from the temple
- Added Knockback Resistance to Onikuma
- Tree variants added to the Birch Forest and Autumnal Forest
- Partial Language Support for the following Languages;
- Russian translation provided by Иосиф XXIV Созидун
- Chinese translation provided by Calmlyplayingdumb
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed Reeds Duplication Glitch
- Fixed Shinobi Music bug where it would stop playing when there was a block between you and the shinobi.
- Villagers now properly avoid and run from Ronin, Bandits, Sarugami, etc
- Villagers now don't talk as much.
- Reduced Crow spawns in the Burnt Plains to reduce lag.
- Clan Samurai Patrols now no longer spawn within a few chunks of your spawn point to prevent loitering.
- Bandits still will bc thats their job lmao.
- Samurai Dueling Mobs no longer do feint attacks.

**MAJOR CHANGES**
- Several changes to music
- Ambient/Combat Music added for the Ryugu jo Dimension
- Made certain tracks replay so you're not fighting in silence.
- Outlaw Samurai/Ashigaru (vanilla illagers) will no longer alert nearby illagers regardless of wall blocks.
- Meaning the Castle Combat music will eventually end once you defeat your foes.
- Several new tracks to make certain events less redundant.
- "Bounty System"
- All Kobayakawa, Satomi, and Takeda mobs are now "neutral mobs" and will leave you be unless under certain conditions:
- Stepping within their castles/outposts
- Killing a Sohei of their clan
- Doing this will put a "bounty" on the player, and all Samurai/Ashigaru/Sohei will switch from neutral to aggressive for that player for the rest of the game.
- Mob Spawn Changes
- Adjusted spawnrules for land and aquatic mobs so they will only spawn in their respective
- Yuki-Onna and Ushi-Oni actually spawn now.
- Nerfed Goryo and Gaki spawn rates in Yomi (Nether).
- Return of the Glow Squid (Firefly Squid)
- After realizing how many of the aquatic yokai are just fish with human female heads, as well as discovering that glow squids are an actual species in Japan, I had the excuse to bring back the glow squid.
- However, I did not remove Teruto ou from the Mod. Glow squids that spawn in Ryugu jo will spawn as Teruto ou.
- You can now grow Bloodgood and Weeping Willow trees from their saplings
- Weeping willows now have actual willow reeds.
- "Micro" villages
- I think I already added this last patch but I made smaller/simple villages for both snowy and non snowy enviroments to be less overwhelming for the player and make the actual villages feel more meaningful and less repetivie.
- Akugyo changes
- Buffed her Hp by alot after slaughtering her in seconds during a playtest.
- She is now much faster and can destroy boats
- Now commonly spawns in the vast ocean surrounding the Ryujin/Ender Dragon boss island. Once you touch the water, she will detect you from any distance and relentlessly hunt you down. Traveling by boat to the End biomes and bypassing the dragon fight is now nearly impossible, and your realistic passage to get there will go back to the vanilla roots.
- Biome placements
- I think I added this last patch too, but I forced the Windswept Hills/Forest biomes as transition biomes between Winter and non Winter Biomes to make it feel more natural.
MINOR CHANGES
- Sake of Absorption recipe now requires Gobo (Potatoes) instead of a Gold Ingot.
- Sarugami now drops Animal Hide
- Warlord HP buffs
- Made Blade of the Kensei less OP.
- Bandit patrols now increase once the player reaches the diamond armor tier.
- The vignette overlay appears when invisible.
- Tweaks to the Combat AI for samurai mobs
- Tengu have proper animations now.
- Ryugu jo now has "crashing wave" sounds if you have Ambient Sounds installed.
- Texture changes to the Armor Trims
- Small Structure Changes
- Other Changes I forgot about.
