# Riptidium v3.0 (Sodium, 26.2) Riptidium v3.0 brings the pack up to Minecraft 26.2 with a heavily revised mod list, new optimizations, updated defaults, and a cleaner overall setup. A major focus for this release was cutting unnecessary overlap. If two mods were trying to solve the same problem, I tested them and kept the option that made the most sense for the pack. The goal is simple: every mod should have a reason to be here. ## Updated - Updated Riptidium from Minecraft 1.21.10 to Minecraft 26.2. - Updated all included mods for Minecraft 26.2. - Updated Better Biome Blend to its current 26.2-compatible version. - Updated Fabrishot to its current 26.2-compatible version. - Restored default game, video, and mod settings for the new release. ## Added ### Performance - Added Ixeris. - Added AsyncParticles. - Added Gnetum. - Added Jasione. - Added Async Logger. - Added Optimized Block Entities. - Added Lite FPS. - Added Structure Layout Optimizer. - Added Put A Plug In It! - Added Block Entity Render Distance. - Added Better Render Distance. ### Fixes and Quality of Life - Added Debugify. - Added Mouse Tweaks. - Added Controlling. - Added Searchables. - Added No Gaps in Yo Items. - Added OptiGUI. - Added Centered Crosshair. ### Dependencies - Added Resourceful Config. ## Replaced - Replaced Better Ping Display with PingDisplay. - Replaced FastChestRevived with Optimized Block Entities. - Replaced Model Gap Fix with No Gaps in Yo Items. - Replaced ThreadTweak with Ixeris and Lite FPS. ## Removed - Removed AntiGhost due to incompatibility with Minecraft 26.2. - Removed Cull Leaves because MoreCulling already handles its purpose. - Removed Disable Custom Worlds Advice. - Removed FasterRandom due to incompatibility with Minecraft 26.2. - Removed Indium because it is no longer needed with modern Sodium. - Removed Polytone because it was no longer needed by the final resource-pack setup. - Removed experimental additions that did not provide a consistent improvement during testing. ## Performance and Configuration - Reduced the default biome blend from 29x29 to 7x7 for lower rendering overhead while keeping biome transitions smooth. - Retuned video settings for higher FPS and more consistent frame pacing. - Kept performance-focused defaults such as reduced entity render distance, disabled entity shadows, minimal particles, disabled clouds, and disabled VSync. - Cleaned up overlapping optimizations and unnecessary dependencies. - Tested Nvidium and Greedy Meshing, but removed both after they failed to consistently improve performance. - Added Better Render Distance to help reduce unnecessary rendering, particularly in busier multiplayer environments. - Tuned the pack around the current Sodium rendering stack rather than stacking additional render replacements on top of it. ## Visual and UI Changes - Added OreUI Recreation as the included UI resource pack. - Added OptiGUI to support additional custom GUI textures. - Added Centered Crosshair for a more consistent HUD. - Kept gameplay block and item textures vanilla rather than forcing a full resource-pack style on the player. ## Riptidium Editions Riptidium v3.0 will likely be the first release without a separate VulkanMod edition. Minecraft 26.2 now includes its own native Vulkan renderer alongside OpenGL. Because Vulkan can now be selected directly through Minecraft's Graphics API settings, maintaining a completely separate VulkanMod build no longer makes much sense. For now, Riptidium will ship as a single Sodium-based release. OpenGL remains the default for compatibility, while users with supported hardware can try Minecraft's native Vulkan backend themselves. ## Philosophy **Every mod has a purpose.** Riptidium is not about installing every optimization mod available. Too much overlap can add overhead, cause compatibility problems, or sometimes make performance worse. v3.0 focuses on a smaller, intentional stack where each optimization, fix, and quality-of-life mod earns its place.
