# Revervox - Balancing Update This update was focused on balancing Revervox so he's not as annoying and making his counters more effective. Hopefully this update will let you guys use the mod in an SMP and hopefully we can focus on adding more content now that Revervox is "Balanced". Besides that we added a new event that you guys will have to figure out for yourselves :eyes: (or you can look at the spoilers section below) ## Additions: * 1 new event (minimum 1 other player close) * 2 Config options for the new event * Actual Revervox spawn rate config (Revervox Spawn Chance) * 1 new Revervox Sonic Boom config (Revervox Sonic Boom Secs out of Sight) * Revervox spawning cooldown per player (configurable) * 2 new animations: * misc.roar: when Revervox loses his target * misc.eat: when Revervox is eating (fermented) spider eyes ## Changes * Nerfed Revervox's damage * Revervox can now disable shields * Revervox no longer teleports to a nearby player when none are * Revervox Sonic Boom longer default cooldown (from 5 to 35 secs) * Revervox Sonic Boom smaller default range (from 30 to 16 blocks) * Revervox now takes time eating bait (fermented or normal spider eyes), giving players a chance to run * Revervox Bat no longer (hopefully) spawns on water * Revervox can now switch targets if they're closer than his current one and speaking * Revervox can only hear from up to 30 blocks away now * AudioStorage optimizations * Updated to Voice Chat Recording 2.1 ## Fixes * Fixed crashes on older forge versions (only for 1.20.1) * Revervox no longer uses Sonic Boom until he sees his target atleast once (prevents blasting people on the surface without their knowledge) ## ATTENTION: If you have an existing world you might need to delete your revervox-server.toml config for it to update with the new default values so, for example, Spawn chance is not 100 instead of 2. (100 being a really low spawn chance), if you changed your config just keep a backup and change it again after deleting. ## SPOILERS * Revervox Behind Event: When 2 or more players are close to eachother in a cavern (below Y=38), 1 player will stop seeing other players for a few seconds (10 to 20 secs, random). During this state he can't also hear them, and once that timer's up, a fake Revervox will appear behind him, repeating a voice of a nearby players, if he then looks behind him, Revervox will disappear, while playing a random cave noise, and the player will go back to seeing other players.

* Reworks block breaking: now Revervox only breaks blocks below sea level, and has a cooldown when above deepslate level, unless the block is not solid or leaves, in which case it is always broken. This can still be disabled in the configs. * Hopefully fixes some crashes caused by excessive creation of audio channels * The random event is now only seen by the targeted player
