# Qwnks's Console Experience: Refreshed 1.6.0/2.4.0 Release **Version 1.6.0/2.4.0 is finally here and it reworks QCE from the ground up! We'll being going into detail below with what this rework covers, but first I want to take you on a journey about QCE's original vision.** ## The Concept - QCE was originally meant to be more legacy console like, (think Xbox 360, PS3, and so on), however, that changed once I just couldn't get things to work out on mod side like I wanted, which eventually lead to version 1.0.0, and QCE was meant to be optimizied quite a bit for low-powered hardware and whatnot, and then I failed on that front and have been adding optimization mod after optimization mod just to get into a spot I wanted it to be at first and now the current version just feels bloated with optimization mods and the like, When I started the Neoforge Branch earlier this month I really liked how well it ran and it felt like what I planned for to start out QCE, this rework aims to get back to that original vision I had without breaking everyone's worlds! ## The Rework - Great, now lets get to business! The 1.6.0 was designed and made with a few things in mind, so here's a brief summary, **Optimization, Performance, Compatiblity, Familarity, and Care**. Below you can find a more in depth explanation of how & what it changes compared to previous versions. What do things like Compatablity and Familiarity change? Compatablity aims to make QCE as easy to port over to other modloaders like NeoForge or Quilt as easy as possible, while Familarity aims to make anyone updating from an older version of QCE not feel overwhelmed by the new changes and ensure their worlds remain intact! ## Optimization Changes - QCE's 1.6.0 Rework handles Optimization in a very different way compared to version 1.5.2 for example, 1.6.0 has less mods and more performance by targeting a select few issues with mods that specialize in those issues, such as, Chunk Loading/Performance, Tick Speed (TPS) (for servers, not so much single player), CPU Scheduling, Multi-Threaded & Single-Threaded workloads and high Render Distances. ## QoL (Quality of Life) Changes - The Rework adjust and adds more QoL mods along with changes to make your experience just that little bit easier while still feeling vanilla! ## User Choice Changes - QCE orginally shipped with 3-5 different shader packs and at least 5-8 preloaded resource packs, the rework ships with no shaders or even Iris at this point in time (1.6.0 Only), or preloaded resource packs, though it will still ship with a few resource packs preinstalled as they're tied in with a few mods. ## Config Changes - QCE now has fully tweaked and optimizied config files (where applicable), while making sure you're not on potato settings if you don't need to be, as it's possible to check every pc config known to man I highly encourage you adjust things like your render distance and simulation as you see fit to suit your needs! ## Controlify Controller Mapping Changes - I've reworked the Controller mappings to be more like bedrocks along with changing the sensitivity a bit, reviewing these settings is highly encouraged even if you don't change anything. **Additional Notes: If you run into any issues please report it on the Github page and have any questions you're more then welcomed to report an issue to the Github page for that as well, though do state that there is no issue.**
