Pumps & Pistons
Pump it. Refine it. Move it.
There is something satisfying about a service station that actually works. Find an oil field, bring crude to the surface, refine it into petrol and diesel, then build a place to store and dispense the result. Pumps & Pistons gives your survival world that complete production loop, from the first survey to the finished forecourt.
The 1.11.0 release is available for Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3 on Fabric. Vehicle support is included in the main download, while Automobility itself remains optional.
Build a working fuel system
- Find and extract oil. Survey finite, shared reserves and choose compact or large pumpjacks in stone, wooden or iron finishes. Finishes are cosmetic; size determines extraction and buffer behaviour.
- Refine the result. Choose petrol-focused, balanced or diesel-focused yields, and keep the useful bitumen for road surfaces.
- Connect production and storage. Use transfer pumps, attended hoses, reusable cans and tanks. Transfer pumps support manual cranking and compatible motors.
- Finish the forecourt. Retro and modern dispensers, canopy pieces, signs, lights, bollards, kerbs and other station details bring the site together.
- Keep track of each journey. With Automobility, persistent vehicle tanks and the Trip Computer show the fuel used by that car.
Production works in loaded chunks. P&P does not force chunks to stay loaded or keep extracting from an unloaded field.
Your first production line
Start with a survey, place a pumpjack over the reserve and bring the crude to a refinery. Add storage before expanding the line, then put a service pump where vehicles can reach it.

Better together
- Automobility 1.3.0 adds the cars. Refuel a selected vehicle with a nozzle or can, and press K while seated for its Trip Computer. Passengers can read it; only the driver can confirm a reset.
- Powerworks adds compatible electrical machinery and vehicle battery systems. Its first beta is awaiting Modrinth review.
P&P also works on its own. Momentum is part of Automobility 1.3.0, and the P&P vehicle integration is already inside the P&P download.
Install and update
Choose the P&P file for your exact Minecraft version. Install it on the server and clients with Fabric Loader, Fabric API and Java 25 or newer. Add the matching Automobility 1.3.0 build for vehicles; older Automobility builds do not match this release.
Back up the closed world and keep your configurations before upgrading. Preserve your fuel and consumption choices. If an old adapter JAR is the only record of a fuel-enabled setup, preserve that choice explicitly before removing the redundant adapter. A server fuel-policy change needs a restart.
Stop and drain machines before moving them: dropped equipment does not carry its stored liquids. The migration guide covers older separate-adapter setups.

## Safer dismantling and clearer machine feedback
Mining a stocked pump, pumpjack or refinery in survival now leaves the machine
intact and explains what remains inside. Refinery protection also covers stored
heat and an unfinished batch. Drain liquids and finish processing before moving
equipment to recover the resources.
After a blocked mining attempt, deliberately discard the contents by
**sneak-right-clicking the same machine with a pickaxe**, then mining it while
sneaking within ten seconds. The confirmation belongs to that player and machine;
adding resources or starting another batch invalidates it. Holding the mining
button cannot confirm. Creative removal and existing block-break permissions
retain their normal behavior.
Right-click a fuel machine with a pickaxe to inspect its contents, capacities and
relocation state. Pumpjacks distinguish missing power, full buffers and depleted
or absent fields. Survey results now describe the direction of a field region
without presenting a region offset as the player's distance to oil.
Warnings stay readable with chat hidden; enable chat for detailed inspection.
Updated messages and illustrated manual pages cover all **18 languages**.
Production rates, fuel quantities, transfer controls and existing settings are
