Early-game pacing
Hand-scraping Grass Blocks:
Plant Fiber chance 45% → 58%
Mining time roughly 7.8s → 7.0s
Regular Rock knapping:
still 68% base success
after 3 consecutive failures, the next attempt is guaranteed
success resets the failure streak
Primitive Twig Pile ignition:
50% → 58% success
Crude Stone Cutters:
full Leaf Litter now gives a maximum of 1 Plant Fiber
Crude Multitool remains 2
Flint Multitool remains 4
Flint Plant Cutters / Advanced Flint Multitool remain 6
Reverted advancements to the older more spammy version
crude stone cutter nerf was not intentional, this is getting fixed
Primitive Twig Pile ignition:
58% → 65%
Reverted the accidental Leaf Litter nerf:
Crude Stone Cutters → 2 Plant Fiber
Crude Multitool → 2
Flint Multitool → 4
Flint Plant Cutters / Advanced Flint Multitool → 6
The actual intended Crude Stone Cutters change is now applied to the crafting cost:
2 Very Refined Stone
1 Plant Tool Binding
1 Lightly Burnt Twig
You no longer need to add a second Plant Tool Binding to the cutter assembly.
If an older in-progress cutter assembly already contains the old second binding, completing it refunds that extra binding.
Updated the detailed advancements so they show the corrected cost/yields and 65% ignition chance.

# Project Flint — v0.22.4-a → v0.30.0-a
## Major Player-Facing Changelog
This changelog only covers changes that meaningfully affect **progression, survival, tools, resources, machines, storage, or how the player interacts with the world**. Minor texture fixes, internal rewrites, localization fixes, and development-only changes have been left out.
---
## v0.22.4-a — Survival, Rest & Early Construction
* Added **Sanding Paper** as a real processing tool, opening new ways to process flowers, bones, wool, and other early materials.
* Added **Filed Bone**, **Woven Wool**, the **Bone Firestarter**, and the **Bone Club**, significantly expanding the usefulness of animal resources.
* Added the **Crude Sleeping Bag**, giving players their first portable way to skip the night. Sleeping Bags can be dyed and grant a short regeneration bonus after sleeping.
* Added the **Place in World** system. Many progression items can now be physically placed on the ground and retrieved instead of existing only as inventory items.
* Added the first **Mortar progression**:
* Clay Mortar
* Unfired Mortar Bricks
* Mortar Bricks
* Mortar Bricks provide one of the first proper permanent building materials that does not behave like loose primitive earth.
* Added major **survival conditions** including **Hungry, Weakened, and Dying**. Severe hunger or injury now directly reduces player capability instead of only changing the vanilla bars.
* Cows now provide **raw hide/leather material** rather than immediately giving finished vanilla Leather.
---
## v0.22.5-a – v0.22.6-a — Woven Technology & Renewable Resources
* Sleeping Bags were upgraded into proper **two-block beds** and now reliably skip the night.
* Flint-tier harvesting was expanded:
* Flowers can be harvested intact.
* Dead Bushes, Firefly Bushes, forage bushes, and similar vegetation became properly harvestable.
* Squids now provide **Raw Calamari** and Animal Bones.
* Eating raw meat or fish now carries actual survival risk through temporary **Poison, Nausea, and Hunger** penalties.
* Added **Cooked Calamari**.
### Reed Backpack
* Added the **Reed Backpack**, one of the biggest early progression upgrades.
* Equipping it expands the player's usable hotbar from **5 slots to all 9 slots**.
* Provides a small amount of armor.
* This turns carrying capacity itself into something the player technologically progresses through.
### Bone Brush
* Added the **Bone Brush**.
* Brushing Sand:
* converts the Sand into Clay;
* produces Sand Flakes.
* Sand Flakes can be processed into a Sand Ball and fired into **Glass Shards**.
* Brushing Gravel provides **1 Flint per Gravel**, creating a deliberate renewable Flint-processing route.
* The Bone Brush can also **shear Sheep**, producing **3–4 Project Flint Wool** while allowing the Sheep to regrow its wool normally.
### Storage & Terrain
* Added the **Mortar Chest**, providing **7 storage slots**.
* Added **Loose Dirt Slabs**.
* Working Loose Dirt with a multitool produces two slabs from the original block, allowing early terrain to be shaped more deliberately.
---
## v0.23-a – v0.23.5-a — The Advanced Flint Age
This was one of the largest progression expansions in Project Flint.
### Advanced Kiln
* Added **Advanced Kiln Glass** and a complete reusable **clay mold system**.
* Added molds for:
* Flint Axe
* Flint Plant Cutters
* Advanced Flint Multitool
* Mortar Bricks
* Clay Pots
* Fired molds are **reusable** rather than being destroyed every time.
* Added the **2×2×2 Advanced Kiln multiblock**.
* The Advanced Kiln uses Burnt Branches, Flint, Fired Clay, and a reusable mold to cast advanced components.
* The kiln has a dedicated processing GUI and can be dismantled without simply destroying all of the resources invested into it.
### Advanced Tool Assembly
Cast tool pieces are not simply crafted into finished tools. They are assembled physically with **Burnt Branches**, continuing Project Flint's world-interaction-based crafting system.
### Flint Axe
* Added the first dedicated **Flint Axe**.
* Allows deliberate tree harvesting.
* Logs take significant time to cut and are obtained as **stripped logs** rather than instantly turning trees into vanilla wood products.
* Also became the proper tool for retrieving wooden slabs and later processed wood materials.
### Flint Plant Cutters
* Added the dedicated **Flint Plant Cutters**.
* Designed specifically for vegetation harvesting.
* Harvests Short Grass, flowers, Sugar Cane, bushes, and other plant materials far more effectively than primitive tools.
* Sugar Cane processing through the Plant Cutters produces **Sugarcane/Reed Rolls**, while the Advanced Flint Multitool retains the normal Sugar Cane harvesting route.
* Plant Cutters now inherit the important plant-harvesting functionality available to the Advanced Flint Multitool rather than being strangely worse than the general-purpose tool.
### Advanced Flint Multitool
* Added the **Advanced Flint Multitool** with substantially higher durability and faster general-purpose processing.
* Combines and improves the earlier hammer, cutter, and multitool capabilities.
* Important harvesting includes:
* Dirt/Grass → **3 Dirt Piles**
* Gravel → Flint + Flint Chips
* Leaves → multiple Branches with a small Apple chance
* Can retrieve important progression blocks intact, including:
* Sleeping Bags
* Baked Clay Kilns
* Clay Grinders
* Recovered dyed Sleeping Bags retain their color.
### Pottery & Building
* Added reusable **Clay Pot** casting.
* Added **Mortar Brick Slabs**.
* Added **Crude Clay Slabs**.
* Several slab and material-processing recipes became reversible, reducing unnecessary resource loss.
---
## v0.25-a – v0.25.1-a — Processed Wood & Animal Resource Rebalance
### Complete Processed-Wood Chain
Wood became a real processing chain instead of immediately behaving like vanilla lumber.
**Vanilla Wood Slab**
→ Sanded Wood Slab
→ Grinded Wood Slab
→ Woven Wood Slab
→ Woven Wood
* Sanding Paper is used to create **Sanded Wood**.
* The Clay Grinder further processes Sanded Wood.
* Woven Fans are used to turn processed slabs into **Woven Wood Slabs**.
* Woven Wood can then be produced as a full construction/crafting material.
* Slab orientation and double-slab states remain intact during processing.
* Reverse processing recipes were added so the system is not permanently one-way.
### Animal Drops
Animal Bones were rebalanced around animal size:
* Chicken → **1**
* Pig → **1–2**
* Sheep → **1–3**
* Cow → **2–3**
* Squid → **1–3**
Sheep also provide **1–2 Project Flint Wool** when killed, while Bone Brush shearing provides the superior renewable route.
---
## v0.26 – v0.27 — Survival & Environmental Expansion
* Project Flint's survival-condition system was expanded beyond basic health and hunger penalties.
* Environmental effects became more integrated with survival instead of simply displaying ordinary vanilla potion effects.
* Water exposure and fear-related conditions were developed into proper Project Flint states rather than feeling like temporary vanilla status-effect spam.
* Survival feedback and environmental pressure were cleaned up to behave more consistently during normal play.
---
## v0.28.x — Wood → Water Age Transition
The late v0.28 updates begin Project Flint's transition out of the established Wood Age and toward the **Water Age**.
### Wooden Grinder
* Added the **Wooden Grinder** as a new processing workstation.
* Introduced recipes requiring **multiple input materials**, allowing more complex manufactured items than the earlier single-material processing chains.
* Dual-input recipes were corrected so ingredients are consumed together only when a valid recipe actually completes.
### Sanding Station
* Added the **Sanding Station**, turning Sanding Paper from a collection of individual interactions into a dedicated workstation system.
* Sanding Paper now fills the station's internal working durability:
* **1 Sanding Paper = 32 durability**
* **256 durability maximum**
* recipes consume durability rather than destroying the workstation.
The Sanding Station greatly improves bulk processing for established materials, including:
* Plant Tool Bindings → Woven Fans
* Glass Shards → Advanced Kiln Glass
* Raw Leather → Leather
* Animal Bones → Filed Bone
* Wood Slabs → Sanded Wood Slabs
* Wool → Woven Wool
This makes previously repetitive Wood Age processing substantially faster once the player reaches the end of the tier.
### Water Containers & Water Progression
* Added **Water Bearing Pots**, produced from Woven Wood and Clay Pots.
* Water Bearing Pots can transport **half a bucket of water**.
* Expanded Clay Pot progression into more advanced water-storage technology.
* Introduced the first **water-fed processing multiblock**, beginning the next major technological progression stage.
* The processor requires its structure and water supply to function correctly, making water an actual processing resource rather than simply something collected with a vanilla bucket.
### Plant Tool Progression Cleanup
* **Flint Plant Cutters** are now the dedicated specialized vegetation tool and properly handle the full range of important plant interactions.
* The **Advanced Flint Multitool** remains the versatile general-purpose option.
* Specialized Sugar Cane processing is reserved for the Plant Cutters instead of the Advanced Multitool accidentally producing the same processed output.
---
## Survival & Atmosphere Overhaul
* Environmental debuffs were consolidated so Project Flint conditions no longer rely on ugly stacks of visible vanilla potion effects.
* Fear-related effects were improved so visual effects remain stable instead of repeatedly fading in and out.
* Added **true darkness**. Areas without meaningful light are now genuinely dark rather than retaining Minecraft's normally generous minimum visibility.
Lighting is therefore becoming a real survival technology instead of mostly a mob-spawn concern.
---
## Progression & Quality-of-Life Improvements
Across these versions:
* The Project Flint advancement tree was expanded to cover major new technologies and progression milestones.
* Advancement detection was made more reliable when players had already completed an action or obtained the required item.
* Important machines and structures became recoverable with the appropriate Flint-tier tools instead of being permanently lost when moved.
* Storage, tool harvesting, physical assemblies, multiblocks, and processed-material interactions received extensive fixes to prevent progression from getting stuck.
* Early tool durability bars now remain hidden while completely unused and only appear once a tool has actually taken wear.
---
# In Short
Since v0.22.4-a, Project Flint has moved from basic **primitive clay, bone, and Flint survival** into a much broader technological progression centered around:
**Portable Rest**
→ **Woven Equipment**
→ **Renewable Clay & Glass**
→ **Mortar Construction**
→ **Expanded Storage**
→ **Advanced Kiln Casting**
→ **Specialized Flint Tools**
→ **Processed Wood**
→ **Advanced Workstations**
→ **Water Storage & Water-Fed Processing**
The result is a significantly longer progression path where the player is increasingly able to **reshape, process, transport, store, and manufacture resources**, rather than simply unlocking stronger versions of vanilla tools.

3 Wattled Daub Bricks
Wattled Daub Bricks are placeable, and mineable by anything (including your hand), but when broken, they crumble down to just 1 crude reed and 2 twigs, this can be prevented by using a flint multitool or better, which then returns the block fully unharmed
Wattled Daub Bricks are placeable gravity blocks, but, similar to scaffolding, if there is at least 3 connected wattled daub bricks (im going to say just bricks for short from now on), the bricks will hold up the connected ceiling piece, up to 2 tiles away, which essentially means building upwards 3 blocks of bricks, then you can place up to 2 bricks in any of the 4 directions, allowing you to build a small shelter from the bricks. However, you can not build any higher than 3 bricks tall, as there is not enough support to build 4 high, and no other blocks can be placed on top of the bricks, so you can not simply place brick -> dirt -> brick to infinity

Everything in this post is added, however:
Wattled Daub Floor Tiles now exist, made 1:2 in any grinder, allows you to have a nice floor in your daub house!
Wattled Daub Window: unlocked via the wooden grinder, combine 2 bricks + 1 advanced kiln glass, and get a nice window to expand your homes capabilites
Wattled Daub Door: Will be unlocked in a later stage, allows you to finally fully secure your home!
ceiling pieces now require 4 supporting bricks, and extend up to 3 blocks instead of 2

Added to both Clay + Wooden Grinders:
4 Flint Chips → 1 Flint
1 Flint → 4 Flint Chips
Added Wooden Grinder recipes:

Woven Fan + Wattle → 3 Tied Wattle
Flint Chip + Mud Pile → 3 Daub Piles
4 Tied Wattle + 2 Wet Daub Piles → 4 Unfired Wattle and Daub

Wattled Daub roof reach increased 2 → 3 blocks from a valid four-high support column.
Wattled Daub Windows now:
must be directly above a normal Wattled Daub Brick;

cannot be layer 1 or 4;
cannot stack directly on another Window;
hide their touching internal faces when placed side-by-side.

All three stack to 1.
Flint Torch Holder
Can only mount to a normal Wattled Daub Brick on structural layer 2 or 3.
Cannot mount to a Wattled Daub Window.
Requires the strict 3×3 safety area you described.
Requires a complete protected 3×3 Wattled-Daub canopy overhead; it accepts the canopy 1 or 2 blocks above so both wall layers 2 and 3 work correctly with the four-block-high shelter.
Continuously checks its surroundings. If the structure becomes invalid later, the fixture destroys itself with no drop.
Placed fixture can be broken by hand or any tool and never drops itself.
Fuel/lighting
Starts unlit.
Right-click with 1 Flint to load it.
Can then be lit using:
Torch
Crude Plant Torch
Flint and Steel
Flint Firestarter
Bone Firestarter
Burns for 40 minutes / 48,000 ticks.
Emits light level 12.
When exhausted, it doesn't disappear—it returns to the unlit fixture.
The Flint charge is spent, so another Flint must be loaded before relighting.
Loaded state and remaining burn time persist through world saves.

# PROJECT FLINT v0.28.16-a
## From Stone and Wool to a World That Wants You Dead
**Project Flint has changed. A lot.**
Since v0.25.1-a, the mod has grown far beyond simply making Minecraft's opening slower.
The wilderness is becoming a complete survival ecosystem.
Fire matters. Rain matters. Darkness matters. Tools have purpose. Food has consequences. Animals fight back. Storage has to be earned. The ground itself changes beneath you as you work it. Primitive technology is beginning to turn into actual infrastructure.
And for the first time, surviving the night doesn't just mean closing a wooden door.
Welcome to **Project Flint v0.28.16-a.**
---
# THE PRIMITIVE AGE IS EXPANDING
Project Flint's early game has continued its shift away from vanilla Minecraft's "punch tree → crafting table → wooden pickaxe" opening.
You aren't simply collecting materials anymore.
You're **working them**.
Stone, clay, plant matter, animal resources, wood, fire, and earth are becoming interconnected progression systems rather than disconnected crafting ingredients.
The result is a world where getting better equipment actually changes **what you're capable of doing**.
---
# SHEEP ARE NOW A RENEWABLE RESOURCE
The Bone Brush gained a major new purpose.
Instead of slaughtering sheep every time you need wool, a sufficiently developed survivor can now **brush/shear living sheep**.
A successful brushing produces **3–4 Project Flint Wool**, leaves the sheep properly sheared, and allows it to regrow its wool naturally after eating grass.
That means animal management is beginning to become more valuable than simply killing everything you encounter.
---
# THE MORTAR AGE HAS ARRIVED
Mortar construction has evolved into actual infrastructure.
### The Mortar Kiln
Primitive clay firing now has a serious upgrade.
Players can create a **Mortar Kiln Base** from Mortar Bricks, finish it with Advanced Kiln Glass, and build a much more capable long-term firing station.
The Mortar Kiln:
* runs for far longer fuel cycles;
* processes recipes **25% faster than the Baked Kiln**;
* uses its own animated active front and top;
* becomes a valuable permanent piece of a developed settlement;
* requires advanced Flint technology to recover intact.
The days of relying exclusively on tiny primitive fires are disappearing.
---
# THE ADVANCED KILN IS BECOMING A REAL MACHINE
The Advanced Kiln received an enormous amount of refinement.
Casting is slower and more deliberate, molds have greater purpose, and the entire structure now behaves far more like a true multiblock workstation.
Active kilns visually come alive.
When operating, their casing reflects their active state and their front/top surfaces animate instead of sitting motionless.
Every section of the kiln can access the shared workstation, making the entire structure feel like one machine rather than one magic controller surrounded by decorative blocks.
Casting has also expanded with new mold progression, including a reusable **Clay Block Mold** and compressed Burnt Branch processing.
---
# COMPRESSED FUEL & BURNT WOOD PROCESSING
Burnt wood can now be processed beyond individual branches.
The new chain introduces:
**Burnt Branches → Burnt Branch Blocks → Burnt Branch Slabs → Burnt Branches**
This gives players an actual way to compress, store, process, and recover larger amounts of fuel material.
Burnt Branch Blocks also obey gravity, keeping them consistent with Project Flint's physical-material philosophy.
---
# INTRODUCING THE WOODEN GRINDER
The Clay Grinder is no longer the end of mechanical processing.
Players can now work toward the **Wooden Grinder**, constructed through processed wood, crushed stone, and a Stone Grindsaw.
Unlike the Clay Grinder, it supports **two-input processing**.
That opens an entirely new class of recipes.
The Wooden Grinder can help process:
* Raw Leather;
* Sanding Paper;
* Ground Leather;
* Woven Chest Frames;
* Leather;
* Woven Wood;
* Reed Backpacks;
* Leather Backpacks;
alongside the existing single-input grinder recipes.
Its saw visibly animates while the workstation is active, and the entire grinder can face all four horizontal directions.
This is the beginning of Project Flint moving from hand processing into increasingly complex machinery.
---
# STORAGE IS NOW TECHNOLOGY
Inventory space is supposed to feel valuable in Project Flint.
That means storage progression has continued expanding.
### Mortar Chest
The primitive Mortar Chest remains an early stationary storage solution, now tuned to **3 slots**.
It behaves more like an actual chest:
* proper chest proportions;
* opening and closing lid;
* chest sounds;
* obstruction detection;
* proper held/inventory presentation.
### Woven Chest
A Mortar Chest can eventually be upgraded using a **Woven Chest Frame**.
The resulting Woven Chest provides **9 slots** of storage and preserves the contents of the chest being upgraded.
This turns storage itself into another progression path rather than something you instantly solve by punching a tree.
---
# THE LEATHER BACKPACK
The Reed Backpack now has a serious upgrade.
Through leather processing and Wooden Grinder technology, players can create the **Leather Backpack**.
It provides:
* additional carrying capacity beyond the Reed Backpack;
* **2 armor**;
* infinite durability;
* a small food-exhaustion penalty while equipped.
Both backpack types have also received extensive visual improvements and now actually appear on the player's back.
Upgrading your carrying technology is no longer just an invisible inventory stat.
You can **see your progression on your character.**
---
# LEATHER IS NOW A PROCESS
Animal hide no longer magically becomes finished leather.
The leather chain has evolved into a physical production process.
Raw Leather can be processed using Sanding Paper into **Ground Leather**, which can then be washed against water into finished vanilla Leather.
Leather is becoming a manufactured material instead of an instant mob drop.
---
# CLAY & STONE WORKSTATIONS FEEL BETTER
Both major grinders have received repeated visual and usability passes.
Clay and Wooden Grinders now:
* rotate properly when placed;
* use corrected wheel/side textures;
* have improved workstation silhouettes;
* render their saws correctly;
* use clearer GUIs;
* display complete processing arrows;
* remember your selected recipe after successfully crafting when it remains valid.
Dual-input Wooden Grinder recipes also properly consume both ingredients without forgetting or rebuilding the recipe halfway through the craft.
Small annoyance.
Very large difference when using the machine repeatedly.
---
# THE WORLD IS GETTING MORE PHYSICAL
Project Flint's ground-processing philosophy has expanded considerably.
Placed crafting components, tool pieces, stockpiles, and work piles increasingly behave like **objects sitting in the world**, not invisible crafting-grid ingredients.
Ground assemblies require proper support.
Remove the ground beneath them and they fall or break appropriately.
Placed items sit closer to the terrain instead of hovering awkwardly above it.
Flint, branches, tool components, fiber materials, rocks, and other physical crafting pieces have received major rendering cleanup.
The goal remains simple:
**If you're building something by hand, you should be able to see yourself building it.**
---
# LOOSE SOIL IS BECOMING A REAL EARTHWORK SYSTEM
Dirt is no longer just a block you instantly shovel into your inventory.
Working Dirt, Grass Blocks, and Loose Soil with multitools can now destabilize nearby earth.
Every adjacent Dirt or Grass Block has a **33% chance** to become Loose Soil.
And importantly:
**Loose Soil can continue spreading Loose Soil.**
That means repeated digging can gradually disturb an entire area instead of every block behaving independently.
Loose Soil:
* falls with gravity;
* can be properly mined with multitools;
* follows the same earth-working logic as ordinary Dirt;
* drops Dirt rather than becoming an inventory shortcut;
* has its own Creative-mode block access.
Earthworking is starting to leave a visible mark on the landscape.
---
# CRUSHED STONE HAS GROWN UP
Crushed Stone now behaves like a physical material.
It falls under gravity and can be processed into **Crushed Stone Slabs**.
The Clay Grinder and Wooden Grinder can convert:
**1 Crushed Stone → 2 Crushed Stone Slabs**
and reverse the process:
**2 Crushed Stone Slabs → 1 Crushed Stone**
More Project Flint materials now behave like actual bulk matter instead of arbitrary full cubes.
---
# CUSTOM BUSHES ARE FORAGING — NOT DECORATION DROPS
Project Flint's forage bushes can no longer be cheesed into dropping themselves.
No matter how advanced your multitool becomes, survival harvesting yields **resources**, not the custom bush block.
Better tools instead reward you with more Twigs.
Current progression reaches approximately:
* Refined Rock: **3–4 Twigs**
* crude cutting tools: **4 Twigs**
* Flint-tier cutters: **6 Twigs**
* Advanced Flint Multitool: **8 Twigs**
Upgrading your technology means harvesting more efficiently—not stealing the entire plant and carrying it around.
---
# LEAF LITTER NOW ACTUALLY HAS LAYERS
Leaf Litter used to give the same result regardless of how much litter was visibly on the ground.
Not anymore.
Resource output now scales with the actual amount present:
**1 layer → 25%**
**2 layers → 50%**
**3 layers → 75%**
**4 layers → 100%**
Partial results round upward where needed.
What you see in the world now better represents what you can actually gather from it.
---
# SWEET BERRIES HAVE THEIR OWN PROGRESSION
Sweet Berry Bushes have been pulled into Project Flint's tool system.
Bare hands are no longer enough.
With a crude plant-cutting tool or better, a mature bush can be harvested for **1–2 Sweet Berries** without destroying it.
But propagating the plant requires greater technology.
With Flint Plant Cutters or the Advanced Flint Multitool, you can spend roughly **6.5 seconds** cutting down the entire bush to obtain exactly:
**1 Sweet Berry Seed**
These custom seeds are now the **only way to plant new Sweet Berry Bushes**.
Ordinary Sweet Berries themselves can no longer be planted.
Sweet Berry Seeds can be planted on Grass Blocks and grow into normal bushes.
Sweet Berries have also been reduced to:
**0.5 hunger / 0.3 saturation**
And the groundwork has already been laid for future berry processing:
* Sweet Berry Jam
* Sweet Berry Pie
Both items now exist and have proper assets, but their actual production methods are being saved for future food-processing progression.
---
# MELONS & PUMPKINS NOW REWARD THE RIGHT TOOL
Gourds have joined Project Flint's specialized harvesting system.
### Flint Axe
Breaking a Pumpkin with a Flint Axe produces:
**1 Pumpkin Seed**
Breaking a Melon block with a Flint Axe produces:
**1 Melon Seed**
The axe gives you the propagation material.
### Flint Plant Cutters
Using Flint Plant Cutters or an Advanced Flint Multitool instead gives food:
**Pumpkin → 1 Pumpkin Slice**
**Melon → 1 Melon Slice**
Both edible slices restore:
**0.5 hunger / 0.5 saturation**
Different tools now answer different questions.
Do you want to **eat the plant**, or do you want to **grow another one?**
---
# FOOD IS GETTING HARSHER
Project Flint's food balance has undergone one of its largest changes yet.
Easy vanilla food is being pushed down so surviving through hunting isn't automatically the best solution.
Raw meat and fish now provide approximately **half of their previous hunger and saturation**, on top of Project Flint's existing raw-food sickness penalties.
Eating raw animal products remains dangerous.
Raw meat can inflict:
* Poison;
* Nausea;
* Hunger.
Cooking matters.
But even cooked food is becoming more deliberately balanced.
Current examples include:
**Cooked Chicken — 1.5 hunger**
**Cooked Mutton — 2.5 hunger**
**Cooked Rabbit — 1 hunger / 3.6 saturation**
**Cooked Horse Meat — 2.5 hunger**
Vanilla food stacks have also been reduced, with many foods now capped at **16 per stack**.
Food is increasingly becoming something you manage rather than something you carry in stacks of 64 and forget about.
---
# A MASSIVE NEW MEAT SYSTEM
The wilderness now provides far more varied animal resources.
Project Flint introduced dedicated meat for:
* Foxes;
* Frogs;
* Goats;
* Horses;
* Llamas;
* Dolphins;
* Polar Bears;
* Camels;
* Black Bears;
* Brown Bears.
Each has raw and cooked variants with its own food balance.
Animals killed while burning can drop their cooked meat directly.
Baby animals do not produce these meat drops.
Combined with stronger animals, raw-meat sickness, reduced food values, and dangerous wildlife, hunting is becoming a deliberate survival choice rather than free food walking around on four legs.
---
# BEARS HAVE ENTERED THE WORLD
Project Flint now has **three dangerous bear families**.
## Black Bears
Black Bears inhabit forests, taigas, meadows, and similar wooded regions.
They're less aggressive than their larger relatives and will often avoid players unless threatened or protecting themselves.
But they're no pushover.
Current Black Bears have approximately:
**22.5 health**
**6 attack damage**
and improved melee reach.
Their natural spawn weight has been increased to **6**, making them rare enough to remain noteworthy without being practically mythical.
## Brown Bears
Brown Bears favor rougher terrain:
* old-growth taigas;
* mountains;
* windswept terrain;
* groves;
* rocky peaks.
These bears are considerably more dangerous.
Current Brown Bears have approximately:
**27.5 health**
**7 attack damage**
with increased melee range so standing just outside their old attack distance is no longer an easy exploit.
Brown Bears use their **own dedicated geometry and UV layout**, rather than sharing the Black Bear/Polar Bear body mapping.
Their spawn weight is now **4**.
## Polar Bears
Vanilla Polar Bears are more threatening too.
They actively target nearby players and move faster than their vanilla counterparts.
Bears are not scenery.
They are predators.
---
# WATER IS NOW AN ENVIRONMENTAL THREAT
Rain and water have become genuine survival mechanics.
### SOAKED
Spend time swimming, standing in water, or exposed to rain and you'll become **Soaked**.
Soaked slows you down, increases survival pressure, and reduces your ability to naturally recover health.
### DRENCHED
Stay wet for **90 continuous seconds**, and Soaked escalates into **Drenched**.
Drenched retains the penalties of Soaked but becomes significantly more dangerous:
* periodic poison-like damage;
* natural healing completely disabled.
Getting wet isn't just a visual inconvenience anymore.
If you're already injured, being caught outside in a storm can become a serious problem.
---
# RAIN CAN KILL YOUR FIRE
Open primitive fire is vulnerable to weather.
Rain will extinguish exposed:
* Twig Pile fires;
* permanent Campfire Stone fires;
* Crude Plant Torches.
And while rain continues reaching them, primitive fires cannot simply be relit.
Shelter now matters for more than aesthetics.
Where you build your fire matters.
When you build it matters.
Watching the weather matters.
---
# FIRE NOW HAS DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TECHNOLOGY
Not every heat source performs equally.
Compared with the Baked Kiln baseline:
**Mortar Kiln — 1.25× processing speed**
**Permanent Campfire Stone fire — 0.90× processing speed**
Primitive open-fire cooking remains useful, but proper infrastructure is better.
Plant Fiber also takes **25% longer to cook**, further separating quick survival processing from serious workstation production.
---
# INTRODUCING THE CRUDE PLANT TORCH
Night survival finally has a desperate portable light source.
A **Lightly Burnt Twig** can be lit directly from a burning Twig Pile or permanent campfire, creating a:
## Crude Plant Torch
This is not a comfortable Minecraft torch.
It is a burning stick you're carrying around because the alternative is darkness.
The Crude Plant Torch:
* stacks to **1**;
* burns for only **5 minutes**;
* emits only **light level 6** when placed;
* continues burning down while carried;
* hurts the carrier for **half a heart every 2.5 seconds**;
* is immediately ruined by water;
* is ruined by direct rain;
* cannot be recovered once placed;
* disappears completely when it burns out;
* can ignite nearby wood and vegetation;
* requires direct sky access once placed.
Carried torches can remain lit beneath shelter, but once you place one, its crude construction demands open air.
It gives just enough light to survive.
Not enough to feel safe.
---
# NIGHT IS ACTUALLY DARK
Perhaps the biggest atmosphere change of the entire update span:
## Project Flint now has true darkness.
Minecraft's normal brightness floor is no longer allowed to turn midnight into dark blue daytime.
At full night, genuinely unlit terrain can reach **actual black**.
There is no fake short-distance fog wall.
That distinction is important.
A dark forest can disappear into the night...
while a campfire on a distant hill is still visible.
Torches, burning kilns, campfires, and illuminated structures can be used as navigation landmarks from far away.
Light matters because **darkness isn't hiding geometry—it is removing illumination.**
Nighttime exploration is now fundamentally different from daytime exploration.
You can leave home.
But you'd better know how you're getting back.
---
# DARKNESS CAN KILL YOU
Being caught in sufficiently deep darkness inflicts **Terrified**.
Terrified no longer blinds the screen with a fake vanilla Blindness effect.
Instead, darkness itself is the problem.
The player has a **45-second grace period** before prolonged qualifying darkness begins causing damage.
That gives you enough time to react:
find your camp;
reach a torch;
light a fire;
get back to shelter.
But staying lost in the dark indefinitely is no longer an option.
The Crude Plant Torch's weak light is intentionally just enough to help prevent that fate.
---
# YOUR CAMP CAN NOW BECOME A LANDMARK
With true darkness and distance-preserved block lighting, settlements have begun gaining something Minecraft rarely provides:
**visual importance at night.**
A distant campfire isn't just decoration anymore.
It can be home.
A lit kiln can guide you back from a forage run.
A torch near an important path can prevent you from getting completely turned around.
Infrastructure doesn't just process resources.
It helps you survive the world around it.
---
# ANIMATED KILNS
Advanced and Mortar Kilns now visibly show when they're operating.
Their active front and top surfaces animate while processing.
The front animation has also been slowed down from its original rapid cycle, giving the fire a heavier, more deliberate appearance.
For the first time, a Project Flint workshop can visibly look **alive**.
---
# WATER COMBAT IS DIFFERENT
Animals are significantly harder to exploit by standing in shallow water and attacking them from safety.
Land animals and wolves take sharply reduced player damage while in water.
Drowned have also been changed:
* no more free Tridents appearing in their hands;
* shorter follow/aggro range.
Water remains dangerous without being an easy source of progression-breaking equipment.
---
# WOLVES HAVE BEEN RETUNED
Wild wolves remain dangerous predators, but their automatic player detection has been repeatedly refined.
They no longer aggro from absurd distances.
Current behavior keeps wolves threatening at close range without turning an entire forest into an unavoidable chase the moment you enter it.
---
# SLEEPING IS MORE VALUABLE
Sleeping Bags received further integration and polish.
Successfully sleeping through the night grants a short burst of **Regeneration I**, giving shelter and rest a small but meaningful survival benefit.
Sleeping Bags maintain their linked two-block behavior and retain their color when properly recovered.
---
# FOOD INFORMATION IS FINALLY VISIBLE
No more guessing whether a strange piece of Project Flint food is actually worth eating.
Food tooltips now display:
**Hunger**
and
**Saturation**
as separate values.
This applies across the food system, making the increasingly large number of meats, berries, seeds, and primitive foods much easier to compare.
The Leather Backpack also communicates its food-exhaustion penalty directly.
---
# INVENTORY & ITEM LIMITS CONTINUE TO MATTER
Stack sizes across Project Flint have received another major balance pass.
Important survival resources no longer automatically behave like vanilla building materials.
Examples include tighter limits for:
* food;
* leather;
* branches;
* twigs;
* bindings;
* processed materials.
This keeps storage, backpacks, chests, stockpiles, and settlement infrastructure relevant instead of becoming obsolete the moment the player can hold 64 of everything.
---
# WORLD OBJECTS & TEXTURES RECEIVED A HUGE POLISH PASS
A massive amount of visual work has happened behind the scenes—and players should notice it everywhere.
Among the improvements:
* better ground-placement height;
* repaired Flint world rendering;
* repaired tool-piece assemblies;
* improved chest models;
* proper chest latches;
* corrected Clay Grinder UVs;
* corrected grinder silhouettes;
* improved Reed Backpack positioning;
* improved Leather Backpack rendering;
* refreshed Clay molds;
* Woven Wood top/bottom textures;
* improved Mortar Kiln presentation;
* active kiln animations;
* cleaner inventory layouts;
* repaired placed material textures;
* better Loose Rock hitboxes and world presence;
* human-made asset replacements across the progression.
A huge amount of "temporary mod object floating in Minecraft" presentation has been replaced by visuals that actually belong in the world.
---
# QUALITY-OF-LIFE WITHOUT MAKING SURVIVAL EASIER
Project Flint has also accumulated a long list of fixes that make progression less frustrating without removing its difficulty.
Highlights include:
* grinders remember selected recipes;
* two-input recipes consume both ingredients reliably;
* Woven Chest layouts line up correctly;
* storage upgrades preserve contents;
* workstations rotate properly;
* every Advanced Kiln block opens the machine;
* falling slabs land correctly;
* durability bars stay hidden on unused early tools;
* placed assemblies use sturdier support rules;
* dropped-item visuals and physical crafting pieces are more reliable;
* knapping now consumes **one Rock**, not an entire held stack;
* Loose Soil finally follows the same multitool mining rules as Dirt;
* Sweet Berry propagation can no longer bypass the custom seed system;
* naturally generated resources and player-held versions are increasingly separated visually;
* item translations and tooltips have received extensive cleanup.
Difficulty should come from **survival**, not from broken interfaces.
---

# PROJECT FLINT IS NO LONGER JUST ABOUT STARTING WITH NOTHING
It's becoming a game about **building your way out of nothing.**
Your first Rock matters.
Your first flame matters.
Your first real storage matters.
Your first permanent kiln matters.
The first time rain kills your fire matters.
The first time the sun disappears while you're too far from camp matters.
The light on the horizon matters.
The bear standing between you and that light definitely matters.
And every new piece of technology is slowly turning an environment that does not care whether you survive...
into somewhere you can actually call home.

Что нового
## 0.1.0-alpha.23.3
- Corrected the Flint Firestarter to use its dedicated Project Flint texture.
- Replaced the Advanced Kiln generic-container skin with a custom aligned five-slot Project Flint interface.
- Restored Clay Grinder player-inventory slot outlines.
- Reworked Mortar Chest rendering and UI: chest-shaped mortar-brick model, no base plate, and exactly seven visible/functional storage slots.
- Removed the unintended Burnt Log content and changed advanced cast-tool assembly to use two existing Burnt Branches.
## 0.25.1
- Bone Brush can now shear an adult/regrown sheep on right-click.
- Brushing a shearable sheep marks it sheared and drops 3–4 Project Flint Wool instead of vanilla wool.
- Sheep retain normal sheared-state regrowth behavior.
## 0.25.0
- Reworked custom Animal Bones drops: Chicken 1; Pig 1-2; Sheep 1-3; Cow 2-3; Squid 1-3. Horse, Wolf, and Ocelot are no longer part of the Project Flint Animal Bones drop table.
- Sheep death wool replacement now yields 1-2 Project Flint Wool when a vanilla wool drop is present.
- Flint Axe mining now explicitly supports every vanilla plank slab family used by the project instead of relying on the wooden-slabs tag, and also retrieves Sanded/Grinded/Woven Wood blocks and slabs.
- Mortar Brick Slabs and Crude Clay Slabs now require the Flint Multitool tier or better for retrieval.
- Added the processed-wood chain: placed vanilla plank slab + Sanding Paper -> Sanded Wood Slab; 2 Sanded Wood Slabs in the Clay Grinder -> Grinded Wood Slab; placed Grinded Wood Slab + Woven Fan -> Woven Wood Slab; 2 Woven Wood Slabs in the Clay Grinder -> Woven Wood.
- Double slabs preserve their slab state during sanding/weaving and consume two Sanding Papers/Woven Fans respectively.
- Added reverse Clay Grinder recipes for Loose Dirt, Mortar Brick, Crude Clay, processed wood, and every existing stripped-log/wood-slab recipe.
- Imported the 0.25.0 Sanded/Grinded/Woven Wood textures byte-for-byte from the approved Project Flint asset master; no generated or pixel-edited textures were added.
## 0.1.0-alpha.23.2 — Kiln, Mortar Chest, Backpack, and Asset Fixes
- Replaced the Mortar Chest's custom-styled interface with Minecraft's vanilla generic-container artwork while preserving exactly seven usable storage slots in a single centered row.
- Rebuilt the Mortar Chest model so every visible face inherits `projectflint:block/mortar_bricks`, added a full bottom plate, and marked the inset block non-occluding so blocks beneath it are not incorrectly face-culled.
- Reworked the Advanced Kiln into a stateful 2×2×2 multiblock with position-aware casing parts. All four front blocks now form one four-tile kiln face using exact human-made textures from the approved asset master; the remaining surfaces retain Mortar Bricks.
- Added a five-slot Advanced Kiln GUI for 8 Burnt Branches, reusable fired mold, 8 Flint, 4 Fired Clay, and output, with a synchronized 10-second processing indicator.
- Made every Advanced Kiln block mineable with the established Flint-tier workstation-dismantle capability. Breaking any one of its eight blocks dismantles the complete multiblock, drops stored contents, returns eight Mortar Bricks plus one Advanced Kiln Glass outside Creative, and spends one tool durability.
- Rebuilt equipped Reed Backpack rendering around a dedicated 3D worn model. The directly supplied backpack PNG is used byte-for-byte on the worn model and the existing Project Flint wicker asset supplies its side material.
- Replaced several weak/duplicated alpha.23 sprites with distinct byte-identical human-made assets from the approved Project Flint library, including the Flint Axe, fired mold states, Flint Cutter Piece, and four Advanced Kiln face tiles. No texture pixels were generated or edited in this patch.
## 0.1.0-alpha.23.1 — Advanced Tool Combat Attributes
- Flint Axe now has 5.75 final attack damage and 0.60 attack speed using +4.75 / -3.40 main-hand `ADD_VALUE` modifiers.
- Flint Plant Cutters now have 4.25 final attack damage and 1.40 attack speed using +3.25 / -2.60 main-hand `ADD_VALUE` modifiers.
- Advanced Flint Multitool now has 4.85 final attack damage and 1.25 attack speed using +3.85 / -2.75 main-hand `ADD_VALUE` modifiers.
- Preserved all alpha.23 durability, `minecraft:tool` rules, recipes, harvesting behavior, and utility logic.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.6.1 — Mortar Chest Compile Fix and Loose Dirt Slabs
## 0.1.0-alpha.23
- Restored the exact uploaded Bone Firestarter texture and replaced the Sleeping Bag inventory model with the exact second uploaded PNG.
- Fixed the placed Flint assembly model so ground Flint uses a real Project Flint item texture instead of resolving as a null/missing model.
- Durability bars on the early tools/firestarters now remain hidden until durability has actually been consumed.
- Bone Brush now brushes Gravel for the same 3.5 seconds as Sand, consumes the Gravel, and returns exactly one vanilla Flint.
- Reed Backpack assembly now requires 2 Woven Wool in addition to 8 Woven Fans and 2 Plant Tool Bindings, and equipped backpacks now receive a dedicated player-back render layer.
- Mortar Chest now uses a chest-shaped directional model and a dedicated seven-slot menu/inventory.
- Added inventory-based advancement reconciliation plus advancements for every new alpha.23 material, mold, casting step, workstation milestone, and tool milestone.
- Added 4 Glass Shards -> Unfired Kiln Glass grinding and kiln-firing into Advanced Kiln Glass.
- Added Crude Clay Block kiln processing into Unfired Clay Mold Base; the Clay Grinder now shapes four mold types and the kiln fires them into reusable molds.
- Added the 2x2x2 Mortar Brick Advanced Kiln multiblock, activated from a front face with Advanced Kiln Glass. It consumes 8 Burnt Branches + 8 Flint + 4 Fired Clay per 10-second cast while preserving the mold.
- Added mold outputs for Flint Axe Pieces, six Mortar Bricks, Flint Cutter Piece, and Refined Flint Multitool Piece.
- Added the requested Flint Axe, Flint Plant Cutters, and Advanced Flint Multitool gameplay tiers, including slow stripped-log harvesting, slab hand-working, specialized plant yields, improved advanced multitool resource yields, and intact Sleeping Bag retrieval.
- Added the Minecraft 1.21.11 `BaseEntityBlock` codec required by `MortarChestBlock`, fixing the alpha.22.6 Java compilation failure.
- Right-clicking placed Loose Dirt with a Crude Multitool or Flint Multitool now spends 1 durability, replaces the full block with a Loose Dirt Slab, and drops one additional Loose Dirt Slab into the world.
- Loose Dirt Slabs reuse the existing human-made Loose Dirt texture without any PNG changes. They can combine into double slabs and return the correct one- or two-slab count when harvested with a Multitool.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.5 — Rest, Harvesting, Raw Food, and Texture Repairs
- Rebuilt the Crude Sleeping Bag as a linked two-block foot/head structure, registered it in the vanilla beds tag, and preserved dyeing, fixed salvage, sleep interaction, and completed-night regeneration.
- Added Clay Grinder processing for 2 Twigs → 1 Branch.
- Flint Multitool now drops the whole flower on direct flower harvest and cleanly harvests vanilla Dead Bush, Bush, Firefly Bush, plus Project Flint forage bushes. Held-flower hand-working still produces petals.
- Added one Raw Calamari and one Animal Bones to Squid death loot. Eating any tagged raw meat/fish now applies Poison I and Nausea I for 5 seconds plus Hunger III for 3 seconds.
- Replaced the three filled Fired Clay Bowl stages with exact copies of the supplied Fired Clay Bowl texture.
- Rewired sneak-placed Burnt Branch and Flint assembly layers to dedicated block-atlas textures copied byte-for-byte from supplied human-made assets.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.4.1 — Alpha.22.4 Compile Hotfix
- Removed two misplaced Sleeping Bag/Mortar Bricks block-breaking guards from the block-use interaction method. The valid guards remain in Project Flint's block-breaking authorization paths, so intended break behavior is unchanged.
- Replaced the unavailable `ServerLevel.isDay()` call in the completed-sleep reward hook with Minecraft 1.21.11's mapped `Level.isBrightOutside()` API.
- No gameplay tuning, recipes, assets, registry IDs, progression, or texture pixels changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.4 — Filing, Rest, Masonry, World Placement, and Survival Conditions
- Added advancement coverage for Reed/Sugarcane Rolls, Sanding Paper, flower dyes, Filed Bone, Bone Firestarter, Bone Club, Woven Wool, Crude Sleeping Bag, Clay Mortar, Mortar Bricks, and world item placement.
- Added reusable Sanding Paper hand-working for all dye-producing flowers, Bones, and 2 Wool. Added Filed Bone + Flint → 96-use Bone Firestarter and Clay Grinder 4 Filed Bones → Bone Club with 4.2 total attack damage / 1 attack speed.
- Removed cook timers from Twig → Burnt Twig and Branch → Burnt Branch while retaining the shared one-item processing path. Fixed Burnt Branch rendering in sneak-placed Flint tool assemblies.
- Added the configurable `V` Place in World key, server-owned flat item displays, right-click recovery, attack blocking, and support-loss world drops.
- Added 8 Woven Wool → supported Crude Sleeping Bag, all 16 vanilla dye colors, fixed 2-Woven-Wool salvage, and Regeneration I for 2 seconds after sleeping through the night.
- Added Clay Grinder 9 Super Heated Clay → Clay Mortar, water mixing → 4 Unfired Mortar Bricks, kiln firing → Mortar Bricks, and hammer-gated non-gravity Mortar Brick placement/breaking.
- Added health/hunger condition effects, no-jump hunger pressure, stacked Weakness, and HUD condition labels.
- Reduced Chicken max health to 80% of the previous Project Flint value and replaced Cow Leather with Raw Hide while preserving the existing Animal Bones system.
- Replaced Crushed Stone and Crude Clay Block textures and added new technology textures as exact byte-for-byte copies from the supplied human-made asset archive; no texture pixels were edited.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.3 — Animal Drops, Reed Processing, Grinder/Base, and Flint Interaction Fixes
- Made the Clay Grinding Base follow the finished Clay Grinder's Flint-Multitool dismantling rule. Manual dismantling now world-drops 4 Super Heated Clay plus any Very Refined Stone already inserted; ordinary/support-loss loot also salvages 4 Super Heated Clay.
- Removed the vanilla Squid flee goal so damaged squids continue Project Flint's territorial water aggression rather than sprinting away after being hit.
- Removed Horses from Project Flint's retaliation system so their normal panic/flee behavior is retained when struck.
- Renamed the visible item names Plant Seeds → Roasted Seeds, Unfired Woven Bowl → Unfired Clay Bowl, and Unfired Clay Ball → Unfired Clay while retaining the existing registry IDs for save compatibility.
- Added custom Wool and replaced Sheep vanilla wool loot/shearing outputs with Project Flint Wool.
- Added Animal Bones to Chicken, Cow, Horse, Pig, Wolf, and Ocelot death loot.
- Added Reed Roll processing from 4 Crude Reeds, Reed Roll washing against water into Sugarcane Roll, and the first actual Clay Grinder recipe: 4 Sugarcane Rolls → 1 Sanding Paper.
- Updated the Clay Grinding Base model to visually match the new grindstone-style Clay Grinder and fixed the single Very Refined Stone stockpile model being effectively invisible.
- Fixed the Clay Grinder inventory definition to reference the block model directly, matching the vanilla grindstone item-model pattern.
- Added the supplied Project Flint icon to `fabric.mod.json` for Mod Menu/loader metadata presentation.
- Flint Multitool now has 3.5 total attack damage, instant destroy progress on direct flowers and Project Flint forage bushes, and supports held-flower hand-working with both Multitools using their normal petal yields.
- Applied the latest user-supplied human-made texture-fill assets byte-for-byte to all corresponding active Project Flint texture targets; no texture pixels were edited.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.2 — Clay Grinder Vanilla-Grindstone Model Fix
- Replaced the custom Clay Grinder block geometry with direct inheritance from Minecraft's vanilla grindstone block model.
- The grinder now uses the user-created clay wheel PNG for both the grindstone round faces and wheel rim, so the custom clay material is visually prominent across the wheel.
- Preserved the existing human-made Project Flint pivot texture and vanilla dark-oak support legs.
- The uploaded clay wheel PNG remains byte-for-byte unchanged; this release only changes model wiring/geometry.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22.1 — Clay Grinder Wheel Texture Update
- Replaced the Clay Grinder wheel texture with the project-owner-created clay grindstone texture supplied directly for this update.
- The supplied 16×16 PNG is copied byte-for-byte with no resizing, recoloring, filtering, compositing, or other pixel edits.
- The existing Clay Grinder block/item model already references `projectflint:block/clay_grinder_wheel`, so both placed and inventory rendering now use the new clay wheel automatically.
- No grinder mechanics, recipes, processing behavior, balance, or model geometry changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.22 — Primitive Systems Consolidation
- Applied the alpha.21.7.1 kiln/grinder dismantling hotfix to the user-uploaded alpha.21.7 source before beginning this release.
- Replaced the Clay Grinder's `StonecutterMenu` shell with an independent `AbstractContainerMenu`, Project Flint `MenuType`, custom code-rendered screen, and independent `projectflint:clay_grinding` recipe type/serializer. Alpha.22 intentionally contains zero grinder recipe JSONs.
- Unified permanent Campfire and Baked Kiln one-at-a-time timed processing under `AbstractPrimitiveProcessorBlockEntity` + `PrimitiveProcessingRegistry`, eliminating duplicated station recipe/timer logic.
- Made Super Heated Clay explicitly kiln-only in the shared processing registry while retaining current timed food/material outputs.
- Centralized Hammer/Cutters/Multitool capability inheritance and speed rules in `ToolCapabilities` without retuning the currently approved tool stats/yields.
- Fixed cutter-shaping of Crude Clay Blocks to preserve player-facing direction on the resulting Crude Clay Kiln.
- Added `docs/PRIMITIVE_PROGRESSION_MATRIX.md` with material progression, stack sizes, tool stats, capability inheritance, timed-processing rules, workstation break/salvage behavior, and regression gates.
- Imported 26 currently-used item/ground texture targets as exact byte-for-byte copies of the redone human-made 16x textures supplied alongside the source upload; no image editing was performed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.7.1 — Flint Multitool Kiln/Grinder Break Hotfix
- Fixed an interaction-layer regression that still blocked the Flint Multitool from beginning a break on the Baked Clay Kiln and its upper kiln block.
- Explicitly whitelisted the Baked Clay Kiln, Baked Kiln Top, and Clay Grinder for Flint Multitool break progress.
- Breaking either half of a completed baked kiln with the Flint Multitool now removes the full two-block structure and drops exactly 2 Fired Clay at the kiln base.
- Breaking the Clay Grinder with the Flint Multitool now drops exactly 4 Super Heated Clay at the grinder location.
- These custom completion paths use normal world ItemEntity drops rather than inserting salvage directly into the player's inventory.
- No Camping mod code or assets were vendored in this release because the currently published/source branches identify Camping as All Rights Reserved rather than MIT.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.7 — World Drops, Kiln Salvage, Grinder UI, and Flint Foliage Speed
- Fixed the Clay Grinder menu closing after one tick by restoring custom block-validity checking against `projectflint:clay_grinder` while keeping the grinder recipe list intentionally empty.
- Restored Minecraft-style world drops for Project Flint's custom block-breaking completion paths. Harvest outputs now spawn at the broken block instead of being inserted directly into the player's primitive inventory.
- Baked Clay Kilns are breakable again and always salvage **2 Fired Clay** through their block loot table.
- Clay Grinders now always salvage **4 Super Heated Clay** through their block loot table instead of dropping the grinder block itself.
- Preserved those kiln/grinder salvage drops on support-loss destruction and allowed them through the existing Creeper no-loot exception so the requested salvage is not silently discarded.
- Completed baked-kiln cooking outputs now eject directly from the kiln's front face, based on its facing direction.
- Flint Multitool destroy speed on grass, Tall Grass, Leaf Litter, and flowers is now **2× faster than alpha.21.6**, without changing its speed on Sugar Cane, leaves, dirt, or gravel.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.6 — Kiln/Campfire Timing, Grinder Identity, and Placement Fixes
- Made the baked clay kiln rotate by facing, preserve that facing when a crude kiln bakes into it, and pass the same facing to the baked kiln top.
- Fixed the baked kiln body model so the upper rim is a full ring, removing the visible air-gap seam between the base and top block.
- Fixed Super Heated Clay placement to follow normal replaceable-block placement rules and to validate the Clay Grinding Base survival check correctly before consuming the 8-clay bundle.
- Reworked the Clay Grinder model again so it reads as a primitive grinder/hand-mill instead of a literal stonecutter copy with a stray upright slab.
- Reserved the Clay Grinder UI for future custom recipes by forcing the current grinder menu to show no vanilla stonecutter recipes or outputs.
- Added a dedicated Primitive Campfire block entity so campfire cooking is now timed and single-item-at-a-time instead of instant.
- Expanded kiln cooking to use the same timed single-item queue behavior and restored raw-food support for common vanilla meats, fish, potato, and kelp alongside the existing primitive outputs.
- Eggs now cook over time in both the baked kiln and permanent campfire instead of converting instantly.
- Updated version labels from alpha.21.5.1 to alpha.21.6.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.5.1 — Minecraft 1.21.11 Rotation/Phantom Compile Hotfix
- Fixed the crude kiln rotation property to use Minecraft 1.21.11's actual `EnumProperty<Direction>` type for `HorizontalDirectionalBlock.FACING`.
- Fixed phantom-disable setup to use the 1.21.11 gamerule package/API: `server.overworld().getGameRules().set(GameRules.SPAWN_PHANTOMS, false, server)`.
- No kiln/grinder geometry, textures, recipes, timings, or progression behavior were changed in this compile hotfix.
- Updated build/version labels from alpha.21.4 to alpha.21.5.1.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.5
- Turned phantom spawning off by default by forcing the insomnia gamerule off during server world setup.
- Made the crude clay kiln face the player on placement and refuse placement without solid support underneath.
- Added support-loss breaking for the crude clay kiln so it no longer floats when the block below is removed.
- Rotated the crude clay kiln blockstate/model by facing and tightened the kiln top model so the upper chimney visually connects to the base better.
- Reworked the clay grinder model to restore a proper saw/blade piece and remove the stray top hallucination geometry.
- Added one more direct-copy human-made texture asset for the clay grinder saw blade (`stonecutter_saw.png`).
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.4 — Human-made Texture Sweep and Minecraft 1.21.11 Build Fix
- Fixed the Minecraft 1.21.11 `neighborChanged(...)` compile regression in `BakedKilnTopBlock`, `ClayGrinderBlock`, and `ClayGrindingBaseBlock` by switching the obsolete `BlockPos fromPos` parameter to the current `Orientation` parameter.
- Replaced all 66 Project Flint PNG textures with exact, unmodified human-made textures copied from the two user-provided asset packs.
- Removed assistant-generated/edited texture pixels from the current Project Flint texture tree.
- Added `docs/TEXTURE_PROVENANCE.md` and `docs/texture_provenance.json` with exact source archive paths and SHA-256 checksums for every texture.
- No gameplay tuning or progression changes were intentionally made.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.2 — Kiln Fuel Visibility, Clay Grinder Visual Pass, Advancement Coverage, and GUI Repair
- Fixed the baked kiln so branch fuel is only rendered when the kiln actually contains branches. Empty kilns no longer show permanent internal fuel.
- Replaced the muddy branch/fuel look with twig-derived sourced textures built from the user-provided resource pack assets.
- Reworked the Clay Grinder block model into a more stonecutter/workbench-like primitive grinder silhouette and updated the Clay Grinding Base to match.
- Fixed the Clay Grinder UI immediately closing by giving it a custom Stonecutter-backed menu that validates against the custom grinder block instead of minecraft:stonecutter.
- Added advancement coverage for Super Heated Clay, Clay Grinding Base, Clay Grinder, Scrambled Egg, and Plant Seeds.
- Added dedicated custom item textures for Scrambled Egg and Plant Seeds rather than reusing vanilla placeholders.
- Retargeted the clay-grinder / twig-visual pass toward user-supplied resource-pack art first, reducing reliance on ad-hoc generated placeholder art.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21.1 — Minecraft 1.21.11 Block Entity Compile Hotfix
- Updated BakedClayKilnBlockEntity persistence to Minecraft 1.21.11's ValueInput / ValueOutput serialization API instead of the removed CompoundTag + HolderLookup override signatures.
- ItemStack kiln input/output persistence now uses ItemStack.CODEC through ValueInput.read / ValueOutput.store.
- Updated integer persistence to ValueInput.getIntOr, matching the 1.21.11 Optional-returning read API.
- Replaced the removed vanilla BlockEntityType.Builder registration path with FabricBlockEntityTypeBuilder.create(...).build().
- Updated the stale build.bat banner from alpha.7 to alpha.21.1 so build logs report the actual release.
- No gameplay tuning, resources, worldgen, recipes, or visual behavior changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.21 — Kiln Render Repair, Clay Heatwork, and Clay Grinder Concept
- Reworked the kiln body/top models again so the structure reads more like a proper body + chimney and now shows visible twig fuel in the lower chamber.
- Repaired the Crude Clay Kiln held icon and the Fired Clay placed texture path; adjusted clay-facing visuals toward a warmer fired-clay look.
- Rebuilt the campfire twig presentation and made Dirt Piles grow in clearer 2-pixel steps per layer.
- Crude Clay Block now behaves like a falling material.
- Lit baked kilns can now process Unfired Clay Ball -> Super Heated Clay (4s) and common raw meats/fish -> cooked outputs (15s each).
- Added Super Heated Clay, Clay Grinding Base, and Clay Grinder. 8 Super Heated Clay place a base; 12 Very Refined Stone upgrade it into a movable grinder with a stonecutter-style UI shell.
## 0.1.0-alpha.20 — Clay/Kiln Repair Pass and Primitive Cooking
- Reworked the Crude Clay Kiln, Kiln Top Form, and Baked Kiln Top models so the finished kiln reads more like a firebox plus chimney instead of two duplicated stacked blocks.
- Switched the Crude Clay Kiln item to a flatter generated icon and rebuilt the Fired Clay pile models to fix broken-looking placement/inventory presentation.
- Cleaned up the primitive campfire multipart geometry for a clearer ring-of-stones / centered-fuel presentation.
- Removed the primitive on-screen break-progress meter; the hand-working/knapping meter remains.
- Flint Multitool can now break placed Loose Dirt normally.
- Cutter-like tools now get 2× output from Tall Grass relative to Short Grass.
- Flint Multitool leaf harvesting now yields 2 Branches.
- Lit permanent campfires and lit baked kilns can now cook Egg → 2 Scrambled Egg and Plant Fiber → Plant Seeds.
## 0.1.0-alpha.19 — Flint Tools, Clay Working, and the First Kiln
- Added the 32-use Flint Firestarter physical assembly: 8 Branches + 2 vanilla Flint. It reliably ignites permanent campfires and the new clay/kiln firing stages.
- Added the Flint Multitool physical assembly: 2 vanilla Flint + 2 Burnt Branches. It has 3 total attack damage, cutter attack speed, provisional 256 durability, roughly 2× crude-tool work speed, and inherits supported Hammer/Cutters/Multitool operations.
- Rebalanced the Crude Stone Multitool to 128 durability, 2 total attack damage, cutter attack speed, roughly 1.25× crude-tool work speed, and full supported Hammer/Cutters capability inheritance.
- Changed Dirt Pile compaction from 9:1 to 4:1.
- Changed Flower Petal yields to 2 with Cutters, 3 with the Crude Multitool, and 4 with the Flint Multitool; tall flowers yield exactly 2× those values.
- Changed held Sugar Cane hand-working to 3 / 4 / 6 Crude Reeds for Cutters / Crude Multitool / Flint Multitool.
- Flint Multitool doubles Short Grass and Leaf Litter outputs, yields 2 Dirt Piles per Dirt/Grass block, and yields 2 Flint Chips per Gravel block.
- Added the 12 Burnt Twig + 32 Dirt Pile Crudely Woven Bowl assembly, clay-lined/fired bowl stages, 2-fill-per-Clay-block collection, and Unfired Clay Balls at 8 fill.
- Added open-firing of placed Unfired Clay Balls with 4 Twigs + Flint Firestarter; after 30 seconds the firing yields 2 Fired Clay.
- Added four-piece Fired Clay compaction into a movable Crude Clay Block and cutter-shaping into a movable Crude Clay Kiln.
- Added kiln progression: 8 Branches + Firestarter bakes the crude base in 30 seconds; Loose Dirt is cut on top, then a second 8-Branch/30-second firing bakes the upper block into a permanent two-block kiln.
- Completed kilns consume 8 Branches + one Firestarter use and burn for 5 minutes.
- Added/expanded advancement coverage and documented all provisional tuning and approved-resource-pack asset sources.
## 0.1.0-alpha.18 — Forage Break Reliability and Campfire Stone Rendering
- Fixed Refined Rock forage-bush harvesting being cancelled by the survival block-break gate before the 3–4 Twig reward handler could run reliably.
- Made the primitive break-event gate explicitly allow every already-supported primitive break operation while continuing to deny unrelated survival block breaking.
- Preserved Refined Rock bush yield at 3–4 Twigs and Crude Stone Cutters bush yield at exactly 4 Twigs; this is a reliability fix, not a tuning change.
- Replaced the placed Campfire Stone multipart geometry's mostly-transparent sprite sampling with a dedicated opaque block-atlas derivative of the approved Campfire Stone asset, so individual stones remain visible before Lightly Burnt Twigs are added.
- No progression recipes, tool stats, fire timing, worldgen, hunger, mob behavior, or inventory limits changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.17 — Early-Fire Restoration, Vanilla Drops, and Water Pressure
- Restored the disposable Twig Pile's original output to **Lightly Burnt Twig**; alpha.16's replacement of the early material with Burnt Twig is reverted.
- Made **Burnt Twig** a later fire-progression material whose first source is the permanent campfire. The permanent frame now uses 12 Campfire Stones + 12 Lightly Burnt Twigs, avoiding the alpha.16 progression loop while preserving Burnt Twig for later recipes.
- Added an extra half-strength Sugar Cane worldgen pass in biomes that already schedule vanilla Sugar Cane, targeting roughly 1.5× baseline generation in newly generated chunks.
- Removed the active custom `ItemEntity.playerTouch` pickup replacement. Vanilla dropped-item entity spawning/rendering/motion/merging/pickup delay and pickup transactions are retained, while the five-slot primitive inventory boundary is enforced through vanilla inventory slot selection.
- Made Sweet Berry Bushes left-click breakable; blocked vanilla right-click berry harvesting for empty hands and non-cutter tools, while Crude Stone Cutters retain normal right-click berry harvesting.
- Made Squids territorial toward nearby survival players while those players are in water.
- Increased active swimming movement exhaustion to 3× Project Flint's previous swimming rate without changing unrelated exhaustion categories.
- No new visual assets or external asset imports were required.
# Changelog
## 0.1.0-alpha.16 — Primitive Campfire, Multitool, and Earthworks
- Fixed the placed Plant Tool Binding component rendering by giving the harvesting-tool assembly dedicated block-atlas binding pixels instead of referencing the inventory-only texture path.
- Crude Stone Cutters now harvest Sugar Cane as normal Sugar Cane; harvested columns preserve vanilla material output instead of converting directly into Crude Reeds.
- The earlier Crude Stone Hammer → Sugar Cane route remains as the bootstrap way to obtain the first Crude Reeds needed for Plant Tool Bindings/Cutters; once Cutters exist, the new held-cane processing path is the higher-yield deliberate method.
- Sugar Cane can instead be deliberately hand-worked: hold Sugar Cane in the main hand and Crude Stone Cutters in the offhand for an 8-strike process that consumes 1 cane, costs 1 cutter durability, and yields 3 Crude Reeds.
- Refined Rock forage-bush harvesting now yields 3–4 Twigs; Crude Stone Cutters yield exactly 4 Twigs and cost 1 durability.
- Added Campfire Stones: work a Very Refined Stone against another Very Refined Stone for 16 strikes (twice normal stone-working time), with 100% success; the offhand stone is retained.
- Added a permanent primitive campfire frame assembled from 12 Campfire Stones and 12 Burnt Twigs. A completed frame lights for 30 seconds when used with exactly 8 Flower Petals in the main hand and at least 4 Twigs in the offhand; only the petals are consumed, and the frame remains after the flame expires so it can be relit.
- The earlier 10-second Twig Pile fire now chars Twigs into Burnt Twigs, preserving it as the bootstrap source for the 12 Burnt Twigs required by the permanent campfire. Lit permanent campfires also convert Twig → Burnt Twig and Branch → Burnt Branch.
- Burnt Twig can be worked with the Crude Stone Hammer for 8 strikes into 2 Lightly Burnt Twigs, costing 1 hammer durability.
- Added the Crude Multitool physical assembly: sneak-right-click supported ground to stage 2 Burnt Twigs, 4 Plant Tool Bindings, and 4 Very Refined Stone. The completed assembly produces a 96-durability Crude Multitool.
- Crude Multitool leaf harvesting works on the full vanilla leaves tag and yields exactly 4 Twigs + 1 Branch per block for 1 durability.
- Crude Multitool Dirt/Grass Block digging runs at 25% vanilla destroy progress (4× slower) and yields exactly 1 Dirt Pile with no vanilla block drop. Nine Dirt Piles can be physically stacked and hammered into 1 Loose Dirt block.
- Loose Dirt uses falling-block gravity like Sand/Gravel.
- Crude Multitool Gravel harvesting runs at 25% vanilla destroy progress and yields exactly 1 Flint Chip with no Gravel/vanilla Flint drop. Four Flint Chips can be worked with the Crude Stone Hammer for 8 strikes into 1 vanilla Flint, costing 1 hammer durability.
- Added detailed advancement coverage for Campfire Stone, permanent fire, Sugar Cane/cutter processing, Burnt/Lightly Burnt Twigs, Crude Multitool, Branch/Burnt Branch, Dirt Piles/Loose Dirt, Flint Chips, and recovered vanilla Flint.
- Imported approved user-provided resource-pack assets for Campfire Stone, Branch/Crude Multitool, Loose Dirt, and Flint-derived visuals; exact source paths are recorded in `docs/ASSET_SOURCES.md`.
## 0.1.0-alpha.15 — Interaction Consistency and Stability Pass
- Removed ordinary Loose Rock placement/starting new Rock Stockpiles while preserving naturally generated Loose Rocks and the legacy Rock Pile registry for old test worlds.
- Primitive ground piles and assemblies now require a sturdy supporting block underneath their placement position.
- Added the primitive HUD progress meter to Crude Stone Hammer Stone/Sugar Cane work and Crude Stone Cutters Short Grass/Leaf Litter/flower work.
- Crude Stone Cutters now process Leaf Litter into 2 Plant Fiber for 1 durability.
- Fixed two-block-tall flowers yielding both Flower Petals and the vanilla tall-flower item; cutters now remove the paired plant with no vanilla drop.
- Reworked primitive world-item pickup to allow partial insertion into the five legal inventory slots while leaving only the remainder in-world.
- Replaced the crash-prone Creeper explosion drop interception through `ServerExplosion`'s private stack collector with a no-op drop consumer on the normal block explosion callback; Creeper terrain damage remains, block loot remains suppressed.
- Made Rock-on-Crushed-Stone refinement an explicit server-side consume/output transaction so it reliably produces Very Refined Stone.
- Reworked the Project Flint advancement tree into broader branches, rewrote milestone descriptions with exact quantities/chances/costs/outputs, repurposed the old Rock-stockpile milestone for Very Refined Stone storage, and added Leaf Litter cutters coverage.
- No unrelated worldgen, animal, hunger, knapping, tool-stat, or primitive inventory-capacity tuning changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.14 — Physical Stockpiles, Finer Stone, and Crude Stone Cutters
- Made the Crude Stone Hammer use normal handheld item transforms, retain a visible 24-use durability bar, and carry standard Minecraft attack attributes: 2.0 total attack damage and 0.8 attack speed.
- Routed survival world-item pickup directly through the five-slot primitive inventory policy; items remain in the world when their full stack cannot fit instead of being routed toward locked inventory slots.
- Kept alpha.13/alpha.14 ground assemblies reversible so placed components can be recovered without silent deletion when primitive inventory space permits.
- Added Rock stockpiles: Rocks can be placed, stacked physically up to 12, and recovered one at a time.
- Added Very Refined Stone: right-clicking Crushed Stone with a Rock transforms that Rock into Very Refined Stone while leaving the Crushed Stone surface in place.
- Very Refined Stone stacks to 8 and can be placed into a recoverable 1–8 physical stockpile.
- Added the Crude Stone Cutters assembly: 2 Very Refined Stone + 2 Plant Tool Bindings + 1 Lightly Burnt Twig, worked with a Crude Stone Hammer for one hammer durability.
- The Crude Stone Cutters use normal handheld item transforms, have 48 durability, 1.0 total attack damage, and 1.2 attack speed.
- Breaking Short Grass with the Crude Stone Cutters yields 1 Crude Plant String; breaking any block in Minecraft's flower tag yields 1 Flower Petals. Each harvest consumes one cutter durability.
- Kept the internal `projectflint:crude_harvesting_tool` registry ID/class path for compatibility while shipping the player-facing name **Crude Stone Cutters**.
- Added advancement coverage for Rock stockpiling, Very Refined Stone, the cutters assembly, direct plant-string harvesting, and Flower Petals.
- No unrelated worldgen, animal, hunger, inventory-capacity, or earlier material-processing tuning was changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.13 — First Material Processing
- Made every completed Twig Pile ignition attempt consume the four held starter Twigs while preserving the Refined Rock.
- Added physical two-Fiber processing into Crude Plant String.
- Added the 24-durability Crude Stone Hammer through an in-world two-burnt-twig + Rock assembly worked with a Refined Rock.
- Added slow hammer harvesting of Sugar Cane into Crude Reeds.
- Added slow Stone working that yields four Rocks and leaves a persistent Crushed Stone state.
- Added the four-Reed + two-String Plant Tool Binding assembly worked with the Crude Stone Hammer.
- Added five advancements covering the new material-processing capabilities.
- Added and documented temporary Project Flint art for all new items, assemblies, and Crushed Stone.
## 0.1.0-alpha.12 — Inventory Lock Alignment Fix
- Fixed primitive locked-slot shading being rendered with the inventory GUI origin applied twice, which caused the 31 lock overlays to appear detached to the right/bottom of the actual inventory.
- Kept lock art in the per-slot background pass so item sprites and dragged stacks still render above it.
- No gameplay tuning or progression behavior changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.10 — Knapping Transaction Fix
- Fixed the shipped knapping path so completed attempts transform the main-hand Rock through Minecraft's item-use transaction; the offhand hammerstone no longer influences whether a successful result becomes visible.
- Moved primitive inventory lock shading from the final screen-render pass into the inventory background pass so dragged/held item sprites render above the lock art.
- Kept knapping at 8 strikes and 68% success; no gameplay tuning was changed.
## 0.1.0-alpha.9 — Knapping & Twig Pile Polish
- Fixed successful knapping output delivery by routing Refined Rock through Project Flint's five-slot primitive inventory insertion path.
- Rebuilt Twig Pile models as a low, overlapping set of individual twig sprites rather than a tall stack of chunky rods.
- Added the Twig Pile to the cutout render layer and tightened its selection shape to match the flatter pile.
## 0.1.0-alpha.8 — First Fire
- Added placeable 1–12 Twig Piles, a 50% completed-pile ignition interaction, a 10-second lit phase, and Lightly Burnt Twigs.
- Starter spawn now uses Forest, Flower Forest, or Meadow; Plains is removed.
- Retired snowy/swamp forage bushes from active generation while preserving their registry IDs for old-world compatibility.
- Prevented noncreative melee attacks while descending through the air.
- Set ground sprint exhaustion to 0.5x vanilla and sprint-jump exhaustion to 2.0x vanilla while retaining 0.72x for other exhaustion.

- Creeper explosions still destroy terrain but no longer yield block drops.
- Project Flint servers always expose Hardcore semantics, including Creative-created test worlds switched to Survival, without restricting normal runtime gamemode/Spectator switching.
## 0.1.0-alpha.6 — Primitive Inventory Polish
- Removed the remaining vanilla `Crafting` foreground label from the survival inventory.
- Lightened the visual treatment of locked primitive inventory slots.
- Completed stone-working attempts now consume the working Loose Rock on both success and failure; the offhand hammerstone remains.
- Set primitive stack limits: Loose Rock 1, Refined Rock 2, Twig 4, Plant Fiber 8.
## 0.1.0-alpha.5 — Focused Playtest Corrections

- Short Grass → **1 Plant Tool Binding**
## Advanced Flint Multitool
- **512 durability**.
- Final combat profile:
- **4.85 attack damage**

## v23.2-a through v23.4.2-a — Workstation, GUI, Model, and Asset Polish
### Advanced Kiln
- Reworked the kiln into a proper stateful **2×2×2 multiblock** with one controller and seven position-aware casing blocks.
- Added the requested **5-slot kiln GUI** for:
- Burnt Branches
- fired mold
- Flint
- Fired Clay
- output
- Breaking any part with the appropriate workstation-dismantling tool removes the whole multiblock.
- Stored inventory is dropped correctly.
- Dismantling outside Creative returns the Mortar Bricks and Advanced Kiln Glass used in the structure.
- All **four blocks on the kiln's front face** open the same GUI.
- Replaced temporary kiln artwork with the supplied six-part kiln sprite set:
- top
- bottom
- left
- right
- front
- back
- Each 16×16 side sprite is mapped across the complete **2×2 face**.
- Fixed front/bottom UV placement and reversed vertical-face section ordering.
### Mortar Chest
- Finalized at exactly **7 storage slots**.
- Rebuilt the GUI so visible slots and functional slots match.
- Rebuilt the model into an actual chest-shaped body/lid/latch.
- The block now visually inherits **Mortar Bricks** rather than using an unrelated chest texture.
- Removed the unwanted base plate and fixed the missing/transparent lower face.
### Clay Grinder GUI
- Restored visible player-inventory slot outlines.
### Reed Backpack rendering
- Added dedicated worn-backpack rendering while equipped.
- Added a proper player-back model instead of only the inventory/equipment behavior.
### Asset cleanup
- Corrected the Flint Firestarter so it uses its own texture rather than the Bone Firestarter texture.
- Replaced weak duplicated/placeholder assets with existing human-made assets from the Project Flint asset library.
- Removed the unintended **Burnt Log** item entirely; advanced assembly uses Burnt Branches instead.
---
## v23.5-a — Pottery, Slabs, Workstation Recovery, and Final v23 Fixes
### Advanced Kiln GUI
- Replaced the backward-draining arrow-like progress indicator with a normal **left-to-right filling progress bar**.
### Tool/resource corrections
- Increased Flint Plant Cutters durability to **320**.
- Corrected Advanced Flint Multitool Dirt/Grass harvesting to **3 Dirt Piles** instead of Flint Chips.
- Fixed raw translation IDs for:
- Sleeping Bag
- Crushed Stone
- Baked Kiln Bottom
- Baked Kiln Top
### Sleeping Bag color persistence
- Sleeping Bags recovered with the Advanced Flint Multitool now retain their **dye color** when placed again.
### New slabs
- Added **Mortar Brick Slabs** in the Clay Grinder at 1 block → 2 slabs.
- Added **Crude Clay Slabs** at 1 block → 2 slabs.
### Pot mold and Clay Pot
- Added an **Unfired Clay Pot Mold** following the same mold-base progression as the other molds.
- Added the corresponding **Fired Clay Pot Mold**.
- Added Advanced Kiln casting into a reusable **Clay Pot**.
- The Clay Pot is a larger-capacity clay-transfer vessel than the original Fired Clay Bowl, using the reduced fill requirement requested for the pottery progression.
### Workstation retrieval
- Advanced Flint Multitool can retrieve the **Baked Clay Kiln** intact.
- Advanced Flint Multitool can retrieve the **Clay Grinder** intact.
### Wood slab processing
- Moved stripped-log → wooden slab processing from hand-working into the **Clay Grinder**.
- Flint Axe can retrieve the supported stripped logs and vanilla wooden slabs.

# v25.0-a — Animal Drop Rebalance and Processed Wood
## Animal Bones rework
- Chicken → **1 Animal Bones**
- Pig → **1–2 Animal Bones**
- Sheep → **1–3 Animal Bones**
- Cow → **2–3 Animal Bones**
- Squid → **1–3 Animal Bones**
- Horses, Wolves, and Ocelots were removed from the Project Flint Animal Bones drop table.
## Sheep Wool drops
- Sheep death wool replacement now yields **1–2 Project Flint Wool**.
## Flint Axe fixes
- Explicitly added mining/retrieval for the vanilla plank slab families used by Project Flint, including the major Overworld woods, Bamboo/Bamboo Mosaic, Crimson, and Warped slabs.
- Added recovery support for the new Sanded, Grinded, and Woven Wood blocks/slabs.
## Slab tool progression
- Mortar Brick Slabs and Crude Clay Slabs now require the **Flint Multitool tier or better** for retrieval.
## Processed wood chain
1. Place any vanilla plank slab.
2. Right-click it with **Sanding Paper**.
3. Sanding Paper is consumed and the slab becomes a generic **Sanded Wood Slab**.
4. Clay Grinder: **2 Sanded Wood Slabs → 1 Grinded Wood Slab**.
5. Right-click a placed Grinded Wood Slab with a **Woven Fan**.
6. The fan is consumed and it becomes a **Woven Wood Slab**.
7. Clay Grinder: **2 Woven Wood Slabs → 1 Woven Wood**.
- Top/bottom/double slab state is preserved through the placed processing stages.
- Double slabs consume two Sanding Papers or two Woven Fans.
## Reversible slab recipes
Added reverse Clay Grinder routes so slab processing is no longer one-way, including:
- **2 Loose Dirt Slabs → 1 Loose Dirt**
- **2 Mortar Brick Slabs → 1 Mortar Bricks**
- **2 Crude Clay Slabs → 1 Crude Clay Block**
- processed Sanded/Grinded/Woven Wood conversions
- reverse routes for the existing stripped-log / vanilla wood-slab processing chain
---
# v25.1-a — Bone Brush Sheep Shearing
- Right-clicking a shearable sheep with the **Bone Brush** now shears it.
- Drops **3–4 Project Flint Wool**.
- The sheep enters Minecraft's normal sheared state.
- Eating grass can restore its wool normally, making brushing a renewable Wool-harvesting route.
---
