Chocolate & vanilla swirl flavoured Cobblemon. Not too vanilla... But not too chocolate, either.

Описание

Project GS Ball is a survival-oriented modpack designed for multiplayer. It is designed primarily around the Cobblemon mod, and follows a "Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl" design philosophy; not too much chocolate, but not too much vanilla either.

It is entirely possible to play this as a mostly "vanilla" Cobblemon experience and interact with few if any of the other mods in the pack, but if you do want a little more flavour, the modpack features a whole host of sidemods and addons for Cobblemon, adding features such as pokemon riding, TMs, mega evolution, Z-Moves, contests, legendary pokemon, and more.

If you want to add some sprinkles, we feature a small collection of vanilla-adjascent mods that we feel play really well with a multiplayer Cobblemon experience as well, such as Exposure, Immersive Melodies, and the Joy of Painting.

As a cherry on top, we do also feature two big automation mods; Create and Applied Energistics 2, as well as a small collection of addons for each. We mostly use them for trains and storage systems on my server though to be honest.

The pack also features several QoL mods to massively improve your modded experience, including Inventory Tabs, Open Parties & Claims, Tinkerer's Smithing, and Mouse Wheelie, as well as a whole host of incredible cosmetic mods to add flare to your character and your world, like Ears, 3D Skin Layers, Fabric Tailor, Distant Horizons, and Iris!

The modpack is stable...Ish. This version of the modpack uses Essential for P2P drop-in multiplayer, and Essential can be somewhat tempermental. We've noticed some crashing when players leave games, and older machines will struggle to host multiple other players without some config and option changes.

Future versions of the modpack will not include Essential. However, this is still an experience intended and built for multiplayer. Users are encouraged to explore server self-hosting options or look into Modrinth's hosting tools in preparation for the switch, planned for sometime in January.

This modpack is built upon years and years of experience modding minecraft, but I've always been a Forge guy. Fabric's still pretty new to me, and I've still got a lot of config and KubeJS work to do, not to mention a few mods I might've forgotten to add, so pardon my dust in these early days. The modpack will improve, as will its Modrinth page. :)

Project GS ball is currently undergoing a total rebuild for 1.21.1 and Cobblemon 1.6.1! This rebuild has taken me far, FAR longer than I anticipated, but it's finally coming along at a good pace! Kinda sucks that I built a modpack for 1.5 just in time for 1.6 to drop. :P Sucks that they moved versions too, been spending most of this time just waiting on updates for critical addons and other important mods. Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. Join the Discord for more details and updates!

# 3.2.0 has been released! This update is primarily concerned with refining and polishing what we already have, and addressing community requests and concerns that have popped up on our new private server so far. Here's some highlights of the stuff I've worked on: * We've changed from Cobbleworkers to Cobblebase, due to its more intuitive design and due to some glitches we've encountered with Cobbleworkers on the private server. * The modpack now features **SOPHISTICATED BUILDING**, which is a cool fork of Effortless Building. Because we use Left Alt for dodge-rolls in this modpack's default config, the Sophisticated Building keybind is set to **Tab** by default. List Players has been shifted to F2. Give this mod a try guys. Seriously. * Mounts have been fixed! Apparently Journey Mounts is incompatible with Mega Showdown now. Removing Journey Mounts fixed the issues we were having with riding, however doing this probably means some of your favourite Pokémon might not be mountable anymore. **Please report missing mounts as a bug in #bug-reports and I can re-add them as a custom datapack at a later date!** * The shop system has received a small overhaul. Prices have been updated to more closely reflect official game data, and a whole host of new items have been added to make training your Pokémon easier. Don't say I never did anything nice for you! * ProtoManly's Weather Mod now ships with a default config that is significantly more boring and tame. Users who enjoy the experience of having their worlds ripped apart by 200+MPH storms and category-5 tornadoes every few days can feel free to either re-tune the config to their liking or remove Serene Seasons and update to a newer version of the mod. * ProtoManly's weather mod will be removed Eventually™, most likely. The frequency of storms and their severity is just too intense in this version. I would prefer to update to a newer version, but doing so would necessitate the removal of Serene Seasons (as modern versions of PMW include their own season system and are incompatible with SS), which is not feasible for this project at this time due to how thoroughly integrated Serene Seasons is. * A variety of items that should have crosshairs now have crosshairs again, like wrenches for example. **Once again, if you find any item that you think should have a crosshair or should always draw bounding boxes around blocks, report it in #bug-reports!** * You can now grind Rose Quartz from Silent Gems into Polished Rose Quartz from Create using all of the same recipes that you can use with Create's Rose Quartz. * Various cherry-picked mod updates, including the ornithopter glider mod, the simple tents mod, and more.

# 3.1.0 has been released! This update "should" be compatible with existing worlds, but keep in mind **Passable Foliage is now disabled by default and Essential has been removed**, and plan accordingly. Also, to take advantage of new worldgen features, **you will have to travel to ungenerated chunks.** This update is mostly maintenance. I've updated Cobblemon and its associated mods as well as a small host of cherry-picked favourites. I've also **massively re-tuned food spoilage**, and made some minor edits to the code to make it much easier to tune again in the future if need-be. We also finally have Pokémon music thanks to Reactive Music! This was supposed to be added months ago per a community vote, but I kept putting it off because I really like the Vanilla music. I will admit, I was wrong, and I should've added Reactive Music forever ago. Speaking of community votes, per another one, this update sees the **removal of Essential**, due to bloat concerns. Other notable changes: * Enhanced Celestials events are now much rarer across the board and blue moons are no longer so broken. * Seasons are now much longer by default. The full year is approximately 300 Minecraft days. * Passable Foliage has been disabled by default. I LOVE this mod, but it breaks the hell out of mob AI. * Storms are now in general a lot rarer, and storms that do spawn will no longer be practically guaranteed to escalate to tornado levels. * The custom Boundless questline and GuideME guidebook have been disabled for now, pending a rewrite. * Tumblestones have been added to worldgen. The intended progression is now to make Ancient Pokéballs first, then upgrade later on to modern Pokéballs. # Known Issues: something is going wrong with loading player data in this version. The first time you try to join a world (including a brand new world) you will get an error message stating “invalid player data”. Joining again will fix the issue. This will be addressed in 3.2!

# Update 3.0.0 has been released!! The 1.7 update for Cobblemon was MASSIVE!!! So big, in fact, that I’ve had to rebuild the entire modpack around it! **3.0.0 IS NOT COMPATIBLE with old worlds! Sorry.** Cobblemon 1.7 is such a huge update, it completely replaces some addon mods we’ve been relying on for years, and nearly every addon mod we use for it is rendered obsolete and incompatible. So, much like the move to 1.6, it was easier for me to start from scratch instead of trying to figure out what still worked and what didn’t. This version of the modpack retains the "peaceful apocalypse" vibe from the 2.X.X branch, but without The Lost Cities mod. That mod uses some really impressive technology, and it's definitely possible to make some really cool, really beautiful maps with it, but I can't ever seem to get much good out of it with the included tileset and I don't have the time ~~or skill~~ to make my own tileset to replace it right now. So, this version of the modpack is utilizing a few different structure mods to add ruins instead. Let me know your thoughts on the new structure and worldgen mods. They're rather performance heavy, but I think the worlds look beautiful! Not really sure how best to sum up the entire update in one small blurb, honestly! It's huge. In addition to worldgen, I've rebalanced progression, updated starterkits, fixed mob spawners, added a food spoilage mechanic, and massively expanded the tool variety using Silent Gear and Silent Gems, as well as Create Alloyed. I've also added CobbleCuisine and ExtraDelight, and future updates will see these mods become better incorporated and more central to your progression. I'm trying to make food a core part of the experience, making it more than just annoying by introducing exciting and powerful effects from eating your favourite foods. I've also added a number of fun new Create addons, and you can now dip your toes into the esoteric and arcane by taking advantage of Occultism. Create remains the main focus of the modpack however, as far as automation is concerned. There is also now a quest system, but it's a pretty heavy WIP. Let me know if you have any ideas for new quests. Hope you enjoy the modpack! ### Known Issues: Sometimes the modpack gets stuck during loading. The only real "fix" for this is to kill the task and try again. Once it loads, the modpack has been stable and performant in my experience, but if you have any issues, please let me know in the official Discord!

# The 1.21.1 rebuild for Cobblemon 1.6.1 compatibility is finally complete! The long awaited update is finally here!!! Knowing my luck, just in time for Cobblemon to update to 1.21.5. :P I've done my best to achieve feature-parity with the original modpack, but there are many things (of particular note is the "Let's Do" mod suite we used to use for food, farming and alcohol) that unfortunately aren't available for this version of minecraft. That being said however, the really important bits are here. The Cobblemon addons we've been waiting for have finally been updated to 1.21.1, and of particular note, we now feature Mega Showdown, meaning **we now have access to every battle gimmick from the mainline games**, including **Dynamax**, **Z-Moves**, and **Terastalization!** Thanks to Keith's help, we were able to implement a new system for starting equipment as well, which has a really pretty GUI and cute descriptions for each region now. The starting items are also slightly more generous, at his suggestion. The new version of the modpack is designed around the feeling of being catapulted into a [Luke Humphris](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHLw6u7G1EK5bZKLd8Ch_3rk1Uz2_1TB5) or [Adventure Time](https://youtu.be/qSmR_N66k1E?si=CJoue_abt_u49Tdc) style "Quiet/Peaceful Apocalypse". You have been catapulted thousands of years into the future, ostensibly by Celebi considering what the modpack is called, and your job is to help a mysterious "Professor Thistle" categorize the kinds of Pokémon that still survive in this apocalyptic place, hopefully also surviving long enough to tell the tale from your perspective as well, but the Pokédex is uploading your progress to one of Thistle's offsite servers somewhere anyway, so your survival is not, strictly speaking, what you'd call "Necessary". The modpack still adheres to the same "Chocolate and Vanilla Plus" mentality when it comes to gameplay; my goal here was to have Cobblemon and the best of its addons, in a package that makes them as easy to use as possible. For your singleplayer worlds, **you can disable or remove Lost Cities** and you'll have worlds without ruined cities, but still be able to join the server. And similarly, there are few mods in the modpack that do not directly revolve around Cobblemon, or the Cobblemon experience. We do still feature AE2 and Create and a host of addons for Create however, as we did in the 1.20.1 branch. Needless to say, you can of course still automate most Cobblemon resources, including Pokéballs, with Create. I should also mention, the world is a little more hostile now. Mobs still do not spawn naturally, but the cities and many other ruins feature mob spawners, which will allow hostile mobs to spawn in your world and defend the treasures within! To help you fight back against the hordes, your Pokemon can now join into the fray with you! You can command your Pokémon to attack mobs and move places using your numpad! They will also proactively defend you if a hostile mob comes nearby. Isn't that cool?! An exciting new Pokémon adventure awaits! I can't wait to see you there! The modpack is currently awaiting review on Modrinth! ## Important notes: * This rebuild does **NOT** have full parity with the older editions. We're running a different modloader and everything, and I can pretty much guarantee **your old worlds are not compatible** with this rebuild. I'm sorry. Blame John. Hopefully the state of the modpack makes up for that though. :) * This update is stable in my tests so far, but it is far less performance-friendly than the older versions of the modpack, due in no small part to the high-intensity worldgen mod we're using called [Tectonic](https://modrinth.com/datapack/tectonic). Users with older CPUs (Like me with my own veritable Ryzen 3600X for example :P) are encouraged to use Chunky to pre-generate some or all of their world. Chunk generation aside though, it's actually really smooth, performance-wise.

# The *"Wow, That Was Worse Than I Thought"* Update is Live! This is a hotfix intended to replace the really *really* egregiously bad HUD changes from the Legends: Celebi update. Sorry about that! No fun bonus sneak peeks in this one, sorry to say. The HUD mod should be good enough, it has most of the features I wanted with none of the issues of RPG HUD, but it doesn't look as fancy. **If you play with your map on the top-right** like a weirdo, **you'll probably want to configure the effects tracker in the HUD**, which can be accessed easily enough with the Mod menu. Let me know what you think!

# The *"Legends: Celebi"* Update is Live! This update focuses in on a few key areas that I felt the modpack still needed improving: * First and foremost, I've *finally* found the time to implement a really nice, functional, player-fuelled economy system, using the amazing mod **Lightman's Currency**. Lightman's Currency adds a tiered currency system based on Minecraft's material tiers, ranging from Copper to Netherite, which can either be obtained as drops, found as dungeon loot, or printed by players using new coin minting machines(Coin recipes likely subject to change in future patches). Players can setup their own shops using a *wide variety* of decorative elements, and there are even options for ticketed gate systems, for things like paid trainlines or amusement parks, and more! Players can either store their currency in wallets(which have curio support!) or in a built-in bank system accessed using ATM blocks. * Second, I've given the HUD a once-over to really give it a better look, at least I think. I will warn you, from what I've seen, the config for RPGHUD seems to be heavily influenced by screen size and window size, so it might not look as good on your screen as it does mine. Please report back on the Discord and let me know. I have created a backup configuration that *should* be more screen-agnostic. You should also just be able to disable the mod if you really dislike it, or configure it to your liking using the button in the upper-right of your pause menu. I've also added WAILA, but the way it is currently setup, you have to be holding the **__WAILA key, which will not be bound by default__**. I recommend binding it to whatever you bind to sneak. * Third, I've added a few new movement options to the game, in the form of a dodge roll mechanic, a wall cling mechanic, and the ability to equip elytra in a Curio slot. The wall cling allows you to grab onto flat surfaces to climb up ledges or slowly slide down walls, and the dodge roll allows you to quickly roll away from danger at a moment's notice. There are also a host of new enchantments to add even more movement options to your arsenal, letting you do new things like double jump or wall jump, or improving your dodge roll's range or recovery speed, or even letting you perform a quick speed-boost with your Elytra. I've also included a mod called *Do A Barrel Roll*, which massively improves upon the physics of Elytra flight. I'm obsessed with it, and I encourage you to try it as well, but I understand it's not for everyone, so you can disable it using a keybind. I recommend disabling the bind and using the *Too Many Binds* menu, accessed by H by default. * Fourth, I've tried to give players more options for raising their Pokémon. Nicknames can now be 32 characters long, and Pokémon size now varies considerably more; Pokémon can be anywhere from 25% normal size to 175% normal size, but extreme sizes are considerably rarer than relatively normal ones. These changes both come courtesy of *Compatemon*, which I sincerely hope is continued soon, as it is a really cool project! I've also added *Cobblemon Unimplemented Items*, which adds a series of bottlecap items to help IV training. Thank you Jon for the suggestion, super cool mod! For any other server owners out there, it also adds a Creative-only "Repel Block" item, which prevents Pokémon spawns in a 21x21x21 cube around it. Future updates will probably see a custom recipe and model for this item. I've also added *Cobblemon Pasture Collector*, which adds a block that creates loot from the drop-tables of any Pokémon in any pasture block it's connected to, to allow a *different* kind of Pokémon farming. ;) ## Holy crap! What a monster of a patch-note! I didn't realize how much stuff I had cooking for this update, and I feel like I still missed a few big things! Nearly done here, let's just go over the config work... As far as config work goes, it was pretty light this time around. * I did some work on StyleNicknames to make nicknames show up in the player list and stuff * I reduced the radius of explosions caused by Pokémon * I re-enabled villager spawning * I renamed Blaze Burners to *Slugma Siphons* * I *maybe* increased Pokémon spawns? I don't notice a difference though tbh * And I made a pretty large change to the way shiny Pokémon breeding odds work, to match my personal preferences Overall, I really wanted to improve in areas that I felt the modpack was still lacking. I'm still trying to polish it up, but it's getting there! I'm running out of items on my to-do lists, which is a good thing. The planned 2.0 Quilt rebuild is still coming, but for those of you keeping track of the calendar, it looks like my planned January release date was even more ambitious than I thought. My current plan is for the 1.5 update to focus primarily on finalizing some config work and getting KubeJS setup for custom recipes, and then do the 2.0 rebuild for the following update. For those of you wondering about updating the Cobblemon mod: Still no ETA, but no time soon. The Cobblemon mod has moved onto Minecraft version 1.21. I would LOVE to follow them, but most of our critical addon mods haven't made the switch yet, so we're waiting on them! Again, *sure* I forgot some critical changes, but as usual, see the changelog below for a full, well, changelog. Thanks for reading! Enjoy 1.4.0! ### CHANGELOG * Did a little config work on StyleChat, StyleNicknames, and StyledPlayerList * Reduced CobbleBoom explosion radiuses(except misty explosion, that one's still 10, because I don't know what that move is and I thought it'd be funny to make one of them huge) * Roughly doubled the maximum amount of Pokemon that can spawn ~~hopefully~~ * Updated EMI * Added WTHIT and Megane * Added a few cute new loading screen tips * Updated Vinery * Updated Let's Do - Emi Compat * Updated Balm * Updated FSit * Updated AE2 * Changed season length to 60 days instead of 90 because 90 feels waaaaaaaaaay too long in practice * Intentionally undocumented config change regarding Pokemon breeding * Updated NotEnoughAnimations * Updated Vinery * Updated HerbalBrews * Updated FzzyConfig\ * Updated Lithium * Updated BloomingNature * Updated Cobblemon Industrialized * Added Combat Roll * Added Do A Barrel Roll * Added Cobblemon Unimplemented Items * Added Klee Slabs. I can't believe it took me this long to notice I FORGOT KLEE SLABS!!! * Added Pasture Collector * Added Controlling even though nobody I know is using a controller but maybe it'll help like 2 people * Added Polymorph * Added Thoroughfabric * Added PathToGrass * Added JEI * Added Compatemon * Allowed villagers to spawn * Removed PokeSizes in favour of Compatemon * Updated Fabric to 0.16.10 * Removed Herobrine * Updated *oh my god so many mods* but I'm a bad modpack dev so I didnt keep the full list * Started some custom KubeJS Code, but apparently the way I used to do things is so deprecated *it doesn't even exist anymore* so. guess I gotta read the manual first. * Removed LeaveMyBarsAlone and Overflowing Bars * Added RPG HUD and configured it to my liking * Configured minimap to better align with new HUD * Renamed "Blaze Burners" to "Slugma ~~Slurpers~~ Siphons" * Added Lightman's Currency * Added Wall-Jump TXF * Added Elytra Slot * Added Winged * Added Pyrotechnic Elytra
