Описание

NotABackdoor puts a practical server panel inside your Paper server. It is useful when your host's panel makes basic jobs harder than they need to be: checking what Paper actually logged, changing a config file, running a command, or taking a backup before an update.

The overview shows process CPU, TPS, milliseconds per tick, Java heap use, and online players. You can follow the last 60 seconds live or look back from one minute to one week. Minute-level history survives restarts. The console reads Minecraft's logs/latest.log, including startup and plugin messages, and lets you run commands as the server console.

In Files, you can browse, edit, upload, move, ZIP, and extract. Select multiple files or folders to create one ZIP, download one TAR, or delete them after reviewing the selection. The editor detects changes made after you opened a file. Backups run in the background with progress through world saving, file scanning, and archiving. You can also manage operator, ban, and whitelist state by player name.

Getting started

  1. Install the JAR on a verified Paper version and start the server. The tested Linux filesystem provides the secure directory handles this panel requires. The default Windows JDK filesystem provider does not, so the plugin refuses to start there.
  2. On a direct online-mode=true server, an operator with notabackdoor.admin gets a private reminder and can run /nab for the inventory setup guide. It covers panel access, the first-run code, browser setup, and a connection check. Enter the password only in the browser.
  3. On an offline-mode server or Velocity backend, issue the first-run code with nab setup in the server console. The in-game guide still explains the setup and shows diagnostics, but cannot issue codes or change access there. Password resets always use the console.
  4. The panel starts on http://127.0.0.1:8127. With SSH access, forward it using ssh -L 8127:127.0.0.1:8127 user@your-server and open http://localhost:8127 on your computer.

Public HTTP can be enabled only after confirming the warning and supplying an exact http://host:port address. Plain HTTP exposes passwords, sessions, commands, and files to anyone who can observe network traffic. The panel grants full server authority after sign-in. Use localhost or an SSH tunnel when you need a private connection. The browser connection check proves only that the browser opening its link reached the panel.

A live backup covers the running server's process folder after Paper saves loaded worlds. Files may change during copying, and worlds stored outside that folder are excluded. For a strictly consistent full-server backup, stop Paper and use your host's snapshot or backup tool.

The packaged outbound relay remains experimental and is not part of this supported setup. See the README for setup, limits, and exact-JAR test evidence.

Что нового
NotABackdoor 1.0.0-beta.4 - Replaced the console's partial logger capture with a live view of Minecraft's `logs/latest.log`, including startup output. Added incremental cursors, log rotation handling, a follow-output control, and bounded browser rendering. - Fixed console refresh requests received while an earlier log fetch was in flight, and kept backup progress in sync while the page stays open. - Added overview cards for process CPU, TPS, milliseconds per tick, Java heap use, and online players. Realtime shows a scrolling 60-second window; selectable history extends to one week with persistent minute summaries. - Added live backup progress for world saving, source scanning, and archive copying. The archive runs in a background job so the panel remains usable while it is created. - Added file and folder multi-selection with ZIP creation, TAR download, and reviewed bulk delete. Archive operations remain bounded and use race-safe directory handles. - Added a private 27-slot `/nab` guide with panel access, setup code, browser setup, and connection checks. An operator with `notabackdoor.admin` receives a clickable reminder on joining an unconfigured server; the menu does not open automatically. `/nab status` remains available after setup. - On direct online-mode servers, permitted operators can share one unexpired 15-minute first-run code. On offline-mode servers and Velocity backends, code issuance and access changes remain console-only. Password resets remain console-only everywhere. - Added explicit public HTTP access with a warning and exact advertised `http://host:port` address, alongside the default localhost mode. Changing modes restarts only the panel listener, revokes sessions and pending setup codes, and restores the prior listener and settings if the new one fails. - Added versioned access settings, source-specific first-run attempt limits, exact public Host/Origin checks, and a short-lived browser connection check. The browser warns that public HTTP exposes passwords and sessions in transit; its check proves only that the browser opening its link reached the panel. The unchanged JAR passed automated Paper checks on 1.18.2, 1.21.11, 26.2, 26.3; Paper 26.3 is experimental. An authenticated operator also completed the in-game setup walkthrough on an online-mode server. The panel listens on localhost by default. Public HTTP is opt-in and exposes passwords and sessions to anyone able to observe traffic. See the README for setup, test evidence and limitations.

NotABackdoor 1.0.0-beta.3 - Corrected the Backups screen and confirmation: in-panel archives are created while Paper runs and cover only the server process folder; worlds stored elsewhere are excluded. - Clarified that a strictly consistent full-server backup requires stopping Paper and using the host's snapshot or backup tool. This release changes the guidance, not the archive implementation. Also includes the secure panel rewrite: - Rebuilt the panel interface around Files, Console, Players, and Backups views. - Added create, move, delete, upload, zip, and bounded unzip operations. - Added console output and command dispatch; operator, ban, and whitelist controls; and downloadable server backups. - Replaced password links and public HTTP binding with console-issued setup codes, localhost access, salted password hashing, short-lived sessions, request tokens, and login throttling. - Added backup migration for legacy settings and removed the old file handlers and pages. - Bound file and backup operations to race-safe directory handles, including ZIP reads and extraction; startup refuses filesystems without the required Java provider support. - Kept unsaved edits through delayed navigation and expired-session downloads; bounded ZIP creation and corrected the file root for custom world-container layouts. - Enforced the backup size cap against bytes actually copied, including files that grow during a live backup. Exact-JAR panel checks passed on Paper 1.18.2, 1.21.11, 26.2, 26.3; 26.3 uses an experimental Paper build. A scripted offline-mode Minecraft client separately passed player-list, op/deop, console, whitelist, and ban/pardon reconnect checks on Paper 1.21.11. Paper 26.2 was also checked with online-mode=true for startup and panel actions, without an authenticated player login. The supported panel listens on localhost over HTTP; use SSH forwarding to reach it from another computer. The packaged outbound relay connector remains experimental, unconfigured, and unsupported in this release. Panel files require secure directory handles from the Java filesystem provider; the default Windows JDK provider is unsupported. The older 0.1 release remains downloadable without these security changes. See the README for setup and limitations.
