Overview:
Italian's Delight adds a plethora of food from Italian culture, such as various pastas, wines, and pizza.
This is a 1.20.1 remake of the original mod, which was abandoned by the developer. It is developed on MCreator like the original mod was.
I created a curseforge page for contact in the comments.
Alternatively, there are 2 Discord servers you can join:
1- Old Discord server
Original Italian Delight's server with the old original developer that ghosted dropped the project, it was where a few unhappy players started the idea of a remake, but warning: it is a bit of a cursed mess in there with loose moderation.
2- Minty's Discord server
The current developer's new server for future mods and similar, it's still very empty/inactive.
Dependencies:
Differences from original:
- Better cross-mod recipe compatibility.
- Some of newer foods are obtainable now.
- Provisory recipes to compensate for lack of worldgen. JEI or similar is recommended.
- Some missing features still being added.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Will you update for x version?
A: Only 1.20.1 will be supported for now. Chances of 1.21.1.
Q: Why is this and that missing?
A: This is a remake of the mod from scratch and still missing things, it's only being released early so people can enjoy features already available.
Q: When will the remake be complete?
A: No idea. This is mostly a hobby. Tortoise approach, step by step we'll get there eventually.
Q: Will there be NEW food?
A: There are plans but probably as a separate mod like how it was done with My Nether's Delight.
Q: But isn't this food new?
A: Things like Herb Leaves and Ciambellone were already in the original mod they just weren't available to players yet.

Italian Delight R. 3.8 - Ciambellone, knife cuts, recipe tweaks

Changes:
- Pandoro, Ciambellone and Panettone can now finally be cut by knife or eaten while placed (but for Pandoro and Panettone there's no visual update yet until the slices are over, then it disappears). I'll add visual for blockstates later on.
- Ciambellone now has a hole, as well as the look for all cutting phases
- Added tag italian_delight:pesto_ingredients to kelp and herb leaves
- Added missing blocks: olive wood block, stripped olive wood block (you know, the ones that have log texture on all faces).
Recipe tweaks:
- Pasta al Pesto: Now has herb leaves as optional ingredient instead of kelp, I made the amount 2 so you can actually use both or either. Here's the reminder that herb leaves was mainly inspired by basil and represents any herbs to be used in cooking. Also, apparently kelp pesto actually exists. Wow.
- Margherita: Now uses mozzarella (x2) instead of flaxen cheese since that was the correct cheese for that pizza. Thanks for the feedback on that.
Fixes
- Fixed "al funghi" -> "ai funghi" in Italian translation
- Code improvement
Still missing:
- visual look of cutting phases for pandoro, panettone
- (new feature) wines to be also added as a fluid for compatibility with mods like Create

We're almost there! The tree worldgen was one of the hardest parts to figure out... The spawn rarity is still fairly rare and up to adjustments, I prefer to risk too little than too many.
Added:
- Olive tree (!)
- Olive Sapling + a crafting recipe for it
- Stripped Olive Log
- Olive Leaves + its loot tables
Removed:
- Recipes for craftable olive log and leaves (just craft the sapling and plant it instead!)
- olive staying in crafting grid, unnecessary now
Fixes:
- Olive Log now has log rotation when placed
- Fixed whole Olive wood set hardness (1->2) and blast resistance (10->2)
- Edited display name of some pizza slice
- Wild herbs were too saturated due to texture being mistakenly marked as tinted
WorldGen tweaks (subject to change):
Wild herbs: freq-patchsize tweak 1-1 -> 3-3
Wild grapes: freq-patchsize tweak 1-2 -> 3-2, plains
Olive trees: 1 in 9 chunks chance, plains, oak shaped
Still missing:
- "wood" and "stripped wood" blocks for olive wood, and their recipes
- Pandoro and Ciambellone are only cut on cutting table
- ~~I found out the alternative oven wasn't even obtainable in the original mod so I guess I get to skip that?~~

**Just a couple QoL fixes:**
- Olives for now stay in crafting grid when you craft olive log (using any other log). Hopefully this makes the process of getting this wood less expensive until I can add the trees properly.
- Grape seeds can be composted. Now you won't have a lot of extra seeds when farming grapes. Sorry I couldn't do this sooner.

I have no idea how well this works with Farmer's Delight 1.3+, but it seems to be working fine.
Any feedback is welcome! I'm also making a Curseforge page for your comments and to spread the mod to more people.
Added:
- Wild grapes. Still in testing phase!!! I never did Worldgen before! They drop grape seeds, and will only generate in new plains biome chunks.
- Wild Herbs generation. You can now get Herb Leaves from them.
- Recipe for olive fence gate (forgot it?)
- Recipe for Margherita (ok how did I forget that?), it now uses herb leaves just so herb leaves aren't useless, and also because the texture already has herbs
New compat:
- Wine recipes now accept grapes from other mods!
- Tagged grapes so now mods that use the "forge:grapes" tag can also use these grapes in their recipes!
- Tagged grape seeds as seeds
Fixed:
- Tipsy effect was lasting almost 2 hours lol. It was meant to be 6000 ticks (5min), but it was read as 6000 seconds. It's back to 300 or 240 seconds now.
Still missing:
- Olive tree worldgen + Olive tree leaves
- Pandoro and Ciambellone are only cut on cutting table
- The ovens with alternative textures, but honestly do we need them?

I didn't have time to test this. Sorry for uploads taking long, I have less free time now.
NEW:
- Italian translation by el_muntafort
- Added keg recipes for wines and salami
- Added some potion effects to wines, still tweaking it all
Note: yes, "hasting wine" recipe also had a stone in the original Italian Delight mod...
- Some wine eating saturations added
Fixes:
- Rosé wine texture is now the newer one to match the others

Another update because I just got possessed by hyperfocus.
**New:**
- 🍕Pizza is ready!! ALL the pizza serving stages are now working visually, finally! I now have a slightly better idea of what I'm doing lol.
- 🍷 THE KEG CAN WORK but for now I only added recipes for sweet berry wine, glowberry wine! Just to give you a taste (or sip). Reminder that the wine effects aren't all ready yet!
- ✖️The crafting table wine recipes have been removed since they were just a temporary bandaid. You now have to make a keg and properly ferment your wine. I'm trying to stay true to the og mod but if for some reason you hate this and hate kegs(??) you can easily add back an alternative recipe with a datapack.
- Currently experimenting with using the Tipsy effect from Brewin' and Chewin'
**Fixes:**
- ⬇️ The pizza slices were flying up too high as if they feared your bites (changed position y+1 to y+0.5) Now they can't escape anymore.
- 🔉 Fixed "olive button" sounds from stone to wooden button
- 🧹 Removed a few unnecessary model files.

**New:**
- Slower pizza eating/cutting! No more gulping down a whole pizza at once. Now you can right click them with a knife up to 4 times to get each of the slices (or just right click to eat). So far, you can only see the stages of the Ham Pizza changing visually. I'll add the changing visuals to other pizzas when possible.
- Added Olive Button but I doubt many even noticed it was missing. Tagged it too.
- Grape Crops now show all growing stages as they should!
**Fixes:**
- I guess code cleanup since I reduced all the placed pizza interaction procedures to 1 universal one.

I don't remember all of it but basically:
- Tagged wine
- Maybe made the glowberry wine make you glow momentarily
- Added glowberry recipe
- Added wild herbs finally (no worldgen yet, get from fern then cook)
- Added grape seeds (get from crafted grape)
- Added grape crops and dear god figuring out how to do this right with blockstates gave me so much work as a first time modder.
*The middle stages are still missing but the last one should work so you'll know they're ready for harvest.
**Friendly reminder this remake is still in beta.**
