# 📌 InstantShield v1.3 - Change Log ### 🆕 New Features - **`/instantshield` Command:** Change settings without restarting the server. Tab-complete supported subcommands: - `/instantshield reload` — reloads config.yml and messages.yml from disk - `/instantshield shield-delay-ticks <tick>` — sets the shield delay instantly - `/instantshield instant-shield-enabled <true|false>` — toggles the plugin on/off - `/instantshield update-checker <true|false>` — toggles the update checker on/off - **New Permissions:** `instantshield.reload`, `instantshield.config`, and `instantshield.updatenotify` - **Configurable Shield Delay (`shield-delay-ticks`):** Defaults to `0` (fully instant). You can raise this value to partially or fully restore vanilla's original 5-tick delay. - **`messages.yml`:** All command messages are now editable from a separate file. Hex color code (`&#RRGGBB`) support is included (works on 1.16+ servers, silently ignored on older versions, classic `&` color codes still work on every version). The `{prefix}` prepended to messages can also be changed from this file. - **Self-Healing Config System:** The mechanism we built for `config.yml` and `messages.yml` — "restore a missing setting in the correct order with the correct comment" — is in place. When an update adds a new setting, it's automatically added to your files without touching the values you've already changed.

# 📌 InstantShield v1.2 - Change Log ### 🆕 New Features - **Native Axe-Disable Handling:** The plugin now applies the shield-disable effect itself (cooldown + lowering) during the instant-block window, instead of relying on vanilla to react to a cancelled event. - **Chance-Based Disable for 1.9–1.10:** Restored the original vanilla behavior for these versions: 25% base chance, +5% per Efficiency level, +75% while sprinting. 1.11 and later keep the guaranteed disable on every axe hit. - **Visible Shield Lowering on Spigot/Bukkit:** Added an API-based method (`setItemInUseTicks`) so the shield visibly lowers on plain Spigot and Bukkit too, not just Paper/Purpur/Folia, with an item-swap fallback if that doesn't work. - **Update Checker:** The plugin now checks Modrinth for new releases (pre-releases and betas are ignored) and notifies ops and console when one is available. Toggle with `update-checker` in `config.yml`. ### ⚒️ Bug Fixes - Fixed axe hits sometimes not disabling a freshly raised shield, which could let a shield survive 2-3 axe hits instead of one. - Fixed the plugin silently doing nothing on plain Spigot/Bukkit when Paper-only APIs were unavailable.
