# Granules 1.2: Deeper and Darker Despite its name, Granules 1.2 actually provides _absolutely nothing_ new to the Deep Dark, but has a lot of features that could otherwise be considered deep and dark. It's not nearly as massive as 1.1, but certainly enough new content to add for interesting interactions. Below is the full list of new content added between builds 428 and 469. ## Mobs - Added the **enderling** as a pseudo-child of the enderman. They are shy and run away if looked at rather than attacking, though they may become hostile if approached. - Added the **endernymph** as an adult stage to the endermite, only found from hatched **infested obsidian.** Unusually docile creatures by default, the endernymph can be fed three of most items in exchange for experience and possible uncrafted byproduct. Feeding them their favorite treat, the chorus fruit, may allow them to reproduce in a new form of obsidian found in the outer End and the Burrow. - Added the **bronze** as a counterpart to the breeze and blaze for monster spawners, effectively making it the elemental of the Burrow, as the structure it's bound to, the monster room, is most common there. It drops bronze rods, which can be smelted into bullion to make new armor, tools, and machinery. - Added the **stalker** as a creeper variant that spawns in the depths of caves. They like to stay out of sight, only exploding once you get close, or they get closer. - Added the **minister** as a witch variant that spawns in its own mini-structure in dark forests, acting as a port of the Viler Witch from Minecraft Earth, inheriting most of its behavior from that game. - Alongside the new mobs, some changes have been made to the old; naturally spawned witches may spawn on top of a cave spider as a jockey, and mobs of the same clad are less likely to retaliate against each other at higher difficulties. ## The World - Added the **Obsidian Stratum** cave biome to the Burrow, which comes with the new **Throbbing Obsidian** as well as **Obsidian Shard** blocks, all of which, including the original obsidian variants, can be used to make **Obsidian Glass**. It's just as strong as obsidian, but... as clear as glass! - Infested End Spikes now spawn in the End highlands and midlands rather rarely. - The night sky may rarely show an anomalous moon, with the default chance being 1 in 100. How many can you see? - New music plays rarely in the outer End and in the Burrow. **This is why the newer jar is so big compared to the previous version; this should have no impact on performance.** ## Blocks ### Masonry - Added brick and tile variants for cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, netherrack, and calcite, including cracked variants, matching stairs, slabs, and walls. - Added glass panels as a form of glass trapdoor; also comes in stained varieties. - Added doors and trapdoors to a few materials: smooth stone, diorite, andesite, granite, tuff, sulfur, cinnabar, cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, deepslate, cobbled deepslate, sandstone, red sandstone, netherrack, Nether brick, and End stone. - All doors, vanilla and Granules, have been updated to hold a view model rather than the door sprite (both for convenience and style). - Updated handling for rotated walls and fences. - Added orientation support for workstations, including their enchanted varieties. ### Experience Bank - An experience bank can be crafted with a sculk catalyst, lapis, cobblestone, and an iron ingot. Sneaking on it deposits experience unless powered; then the machine is set to withdraw. ### Bronze - Bronze Rods may be smelted into Bronze Bullion, which can be used to make armor and tools comparable to mid-iron to diamond, with the bonus of defense against hostile mobs. - Added the **Bronze Spewer** and **Bronze Billow**, made with bronze bullion, iron ingots, and a blaze or breeze rod, respectively. The spewer heats dropped items to smelt over time, including setting those caught in it ablaze, as well as the billow, which pushes (or pulls, if powered) items away. - Added the **Bronze Coffer**, a "localized Ender Chest" which cannot be destroyed through normal means unless all players remove their items from it. An admin may set the block to air if it needs to be removed. - Added rails constructed of the various elemental rods; bronze rails prevent deceleration, blaze rails can multi-track drift, and breeze rails give a speed boost without redstone power. Above all else, every single one of these new rails can stand on its own. ### Utility - Wooden armor, including cosmetically different crowns for each vanilla Overworld wood type, has been added. Crowns neutralize the creaking and creepers while worn. - Set bonuses now apply to all vanilla armor before diamond. - Wooden tools have been given quadruple the durability. - Added equipment tooltips for various items in the mod that were otherwise obtuse. - The **obsidian compass** reintroduces the original behavior of the compass. - **Cooked Tropical Fish**. Nuff said. - Somnosatchels now _require_ an empty Bundle to be used in crafting, to prevent quick-crafting and getting sad that you just lost a full bundle of items. - Added the **wrench** to rotate blocks, so long as it would normally be eligible for placement with that orientation (with some additional mileage for certain multiblocks). ### Balance - Unprotected sleep may result in a rude awakening, scaling with greater difficulties. Craft the **charter** and shift-click your bed to discern the root cause of this. This could range from the dark, the loud, or the infested. - **Hearthearth** has been made more forgiving with spawns. - **Green Tea** has had its saturation rebalanced. ## Fixes - Fixed a bug where Visual Workbench was overriding the Enchanted Smithing Table UI

Welcome to **Granules build 422**! I don't pride myself on huge jumps like this, but it's been a few-week journey between refinements and previously planned additions that have been added. Below are all the additions and changes: ## Building and Decoration - **Aspen Wood:** A new wood type has been added to the Burrow, rarely spawning amongst the birch. It can grow at any light level and has a permanent yellow tint. - **Chorus:** Bundling unpopped chorus fruit the same way you would Bamboo produces the chorus set. - **Echo:** Echo Shards may be bundled into a deep-blue polished brick set. - **Amethyst:** In polished and brick variants, much like quartz. - **Chiseled Logs and Stumps:** Chiseled logs use the top face, unlike the Wood blocks, which use the side faces; they also come in slab variants, known as stumps. - **Litter Clumps:** Compress down Leaf Litter into Litter Clumps, which are a more efficient fuel source and give that crunchy leaf texture and sound. Doesn't need shears! - **Paintings:** Added a lot of paintings referential to memes, dogs, and the skybox of older games, reconstructed with Bryce 7. - **Horizontal Fences and Walls:** Oriented by surface placement. - **Hybrid Slabs:** Technically exists as a debug block that inherits the properties of two slabs; _literally_ functions as two slabs stacked on top of each other. - **Woodcutting** with the Stonecutter for more efficient recipes. ## Domestic - **Minecart Trains:** Lead minecarts together, and use a Furnace Minecart to tow! They're 3x faster now. - **Double Doors:** Double down. Paired doors open and close together. - **Anti-Trample:** Crops cannot be trampled by Feather Falling. - **Armor Stand arms:** Right-click an armor stand with sticks in both hands to apply them. - **Juices:** Apples and Melon Slices can now be crafted into Apple and Melon Juice, respectively. - **Junction improvements:** Corrected input direction and conduction. ## World Generation - **Generation Factor:** Controllable in the World Creation tab, you can now choose how frequently structures generate in the world. - **Shore Findings:** Suspicious gravel and sand may spawn naturally around ocean-side beaches. - **Badlands Wells:** Contains and adds suspicious red sand. - **Tea Shrubs:** Found in the jungle, tea leaves can be crafted into a variety of teas, with most using Green Tea as a base. All tea provides the Instant Cleansing effect, which acts as a quick reset alongside its potion effects. **Tabula Rasa** is an effect exclusive to Chamomile Tea, which resets a lot of worldly behaviors (including insomnia, omens, and warden strikes). ## Tools - **Dirt TNT and Dry TNT** unify the Dynamite sets to the original block. - **Tongs:** To do everything Shears can't. - **Iron Locks:** Primarily for map-makers, but usable in survivable. Locks for redstone, which had this function through levers, freeze block-state growth, paintings, armor frames, placeable eggs, Copper Golem statues, sculk catalysts, and more. - **Resin Clumps** can now be used as an arrowhead in the Fletching Table, allowing its arrows to pass through leaves. - **End Crystal Defense:** Players can now place End Crystals on Respawn Anchors, and on obsidian pyramids to act as anti-air. Has similar filtering rules to offensive golems. - **Gunpowder** also works as a substitute for Creeper Heads in offensive golem filtering. - **Grave Shovel:** A rare spawn with Zombies in the Burrow. Can be used to exhume your friends and pets from lofty situations in other dimensions. Can also be used to bury items into sand, gravel, and red sand from the offhand. - **Chainmail Invisibility:** Simple as! The invisibility affects the light chainmail, too. ## Mobs - **Herding:** While passive mobs do spawn in them, they don't typically act in them. The same animals group and scatter if one is in danger. - **Undead and Arthropods:** With the exception of bees, bugs and the undead fear campfires, especially those of soul fire. - **Creepers:** Are now scared of all types of ghasts as well as the music disc Cat. - **Legacy Spawning:** A gamerule has been added to add the old passive mob spawning and despawning. - **Copper Golems:** Can be upgraded with Eyes of Ender (to see further), Item Frames (to sort better), and an empty Bundle (to hold more). Can also be fed Redstone Dust to move quicker temporarily. ## Enchantments and Loot - **Butchery:** Found in Nether fortresses. Extremely effective against all manner of swine. - **Hearthearth (Heart Hearth):** Found in trial chambers. Plant a sword in a campfire to establish a spawn. Also repairs itself over time. - **Knowledge Tome:** Fixed the permanent upgrade mechanic for your recipe book. Shows as it's supposed to. - **Unmarked Discs:** Improved dynamic handling of music tracks, including those of modded ambient tracks. - **Balancing Config:** You can mess with all values related to chances and strengths if you feel the default is faulty. ## Presentation - **Titles:** Can be equipped and unequipped from advancements. Mix and match! - 9 new advancements tied to new and existing features - 24 custom splash text entries, with the option to click the splash to reroll it. - Trimmed down file size with bitrate minimization without affecting quality too much. - Various bug fixes and improvements.

# Granules _A mod with a lot of small things_ ## Granules _granule: noun; "a small particle, grain, or little piece of a substance."_ Granules, definitively, is a mod about a lot of little things; though, like all little things, they're only little relative to what they may be, be it a little transportation, a little enchantment, or even a little ore, all of which can vary from player to player. As such, it adds a little new content to flavor your experience. ## Contents - **Multibiome World Type:** Single Biome too strict, default too broad? Select a Multibiome world to get a catered selection going for yourself. - **Loading Optimization:** Granules provides the option to temporarily prefer chunk updates directly around you during sustained chunk loading rather than loading every single one at once, hopefully allowing for smoother performance. - **Enhanced Workstations:** Enchanted Tomes can be found in most "loot chamber"-type structures; monster rooms and strongholds being the biggest examples. They can be used to enhance the abilities of most workstations, both to improve them and bring them up to speed with others... included in this category would also be implementation for specialized arrows with the Fletching Table. - **Lesser Items:** For the rarer crowd of mobs, like endermen and phantoms, it can be hard to get drops reliably; that said, the way you interact with them hasn't changed, but you should be seeing profits through lesser versions of their existing drops, which can be compressed or traded into their superior forms. - **The Old World:** Around the stronghold annulus, you'll find rarer, chancier items and opportunities for expansion and enhancement of your current gameplay, especially through Old World Roses and Cod, which are both very powerful ingredients. - **Redstone Contraptions:** Not a lot of new redstone stuff, but I think what I've added should be sufficient... Movers are the most notable feature that interacts with redstone, able to move sort of like a "wireless minecart", both horizontally and vertically. Click them together, call them across the route, or send them to your friends. This isn't all the major content that Granules adds, but consider taking it out for a spin and trying out its features for yourself :-) The mod also adds a lot of enchantments, brewing recipes, and miscellaneous quality-of-life recipes that can improve the vanilla experience. **If you don't want to play with any major content,** you can also choose to ban it from appearing in your world more than it already has. ## Complements While not mods I've made, I'd recommend using them alongside Granules for a fuller experience: - **[Chunky:](https://modrinth.com/plugin/chunky)** This mod has saved my computer countless times over the last month. - **[Enchantment Descriptions:](https://modrinth.com/mod/enchantment-descriptions)** While not up to date with 26.2 (as of writing this), there is support implemented for it. - **[Roughly Enough Items:](https://modrinth.com/mod/rei)** Just a good mod generally. Very helpful when Minecraft's existing recipe book is not. - **[Jade:](https://modrinth.com/mod/jade)** Just for identifying certain things! I'm not the best explainer or gameplay presenter, so if you need more help than a recipe browser is willing to provide, you'll see a bit more identification here. ## Claimer Granules contains _absolutely zero_ AI-generated content, and never will contain it.
