Gorgeous Shaders is a shaderpack for Minecraft Java Edition with Iris, designed to give the game a warm, cinematic atmosphere while offering adjustable settings for less powerful PCs.
It enhances lighting, skies, weather and water while preserving Minecraft’s familiar block-based appearance. Its features include:
- Warm daytime lighting, cinematic tonemapping and stronger contrast.
- Custom volumetric clouds and light shafts filtered through terrain and foliage.
- Animated water waves, depth-based absorption, subtle refraction and screen-space reflections.
- Rain impact ripples, wet terrain and reflective puddles.
- Smooth weather transitions, with darker skies and reduced sunlight during rain.
- Cool nighttime lighting, procedural auroras and softly twinkling stars.
- Warm Nether lighting and fog, plus a procedural galaxy sky in the End.
Very Low, Low, Balanced and High profiles let players adjust visual quality and rendering cost. Individual settings control clouds, shadows, reflections, bloom, water waves, rain ripples and daytime warmth. Some effects are simplified or disabled in the lighter profiles.
The pack targets Minecraft Java 1.21.2 and later with a compatible Iris installation. Development has focused on Minecraft 1.21.4 with Iris 1.8.8; compatibility and performance can vary across versions, hardware and mod combinations. Screen-space reflections only include visible geometry, and the water effects change its appearance rather than its physics.
