## [1.3.3] - Persistent cooldowns and command auditing Maintenance and bug-fix update. If something breaks or behaves differently than before, please report it on the [issue tracker](https://github.com/Fi3w0/Fiw-Tools/issues). > **⚠ Upgrade note:** ability cooldowns now survive relogging and server restarts; offline time does not reduce them. Back up `config/fiw_tools/data/cooldowns/` with your server. ### Added - `logCommands` in `config/fiw_tools/settings.json` (`off` by default, `console` or `file`) records every item command attempt with the time, player name and UUID, item id, ability index and the final command, including commands that fail. File mode appends JSON lines to `config/fiw_tools/logs/commands.jsonl` off the server thread. An unknown mode logs a warning and falls back to `off`. ### Changed - Remaining ability cooldowns are saved per player on logout and server stop, including `cooldownGroup` keys, and resume on login. Recharge-on-kill resets and reductions are kept in the saved state. ### Fixed - Relogging, reconnecting or restarting the server no longer clears ability cooldowns, so they can't be skipped that way. ### Documentation - Item guide: corrected navigation, command arguments, reload and soul behavior, targeting defaults and version notes, and documented the two-way FIW Bosses integration, `logCommands` and saved cooldowns. - README: corrected `/fiwtools curse list <itemId>` and `/fiwtools imbue best|roll <catalystId>`, and listed `settings.json` and `data/cooldowns/` under config folders.

## [1.3.2] - Auto lore, item export, boss slayer > **NeoForge 1.21.8 and 1.21.11 servers: update.** Every version since 1.1.1 failed to start there > ("Registry is already frozen"). ### Added - **Auto ability lore** — `"autoLore": true` on an item adds one tooltip line per ability after its own lore, e.g. *Right-click: Lightning Rain (6s cooldown)*. `loreName` / `hideInLore` in an ability's params rename or hide a line. Server-wide default in the new `config/fiw_tools/settings.json` (`"autoLore": false`). - **`/fiwtools export <newId>`** — saves the held item as `config/fiw_tools/items/<newId>.json` (base, name, lore, rarity, enchantments, attributes, durability, glint, dye, model, repair cost) without overwriting anything, and lists components it couldn't export. Exporting a Fiw item copies its whole config with the stack's current name, enchantments and attributes. - **Boss slayer** — `bonusVsBosses` / `bonusVsMinions` damage multipliers on items, or in an ability's params for that ability's damage. Covers melee, arrows and abilities. New ability conditions `whenTargetIsBoss` and `whenTargetIsMinion`. Bosses are FIW Bosses bosses plus the ender dragon, wither, warden and elder guardian. Example: `examples/items/giant_slayer.json`. ### Fixed - NeoForge 1.21.8 / 1.21.11 crashed at startup because the custom recipe serializer was registered outside NeoForge's registry event. It is now registered in `RegisterEvent`. - `on_boss_kill` fired when killing FIW Bosses minions; it now only counts bosses.

## [1.3.1] - NeoForge Kotlin crash fix and boss phase tools > **NeoForge users running Kotlin for Forge or KotlinLangForge: update immediately.** 1.3.0 crashes > those packs at startup. ### Fixed - **NeoForge startup crash next to Kotlin for Forge / KotlinLangForge** (#1). The NeoForge jars merged the Kotlin standard library's classes into the mod jar, so the `fiw_tools` module exported `kotlin.*` packages and module resolution failed (`ResolutionException: Modules fiw_tools and kotlin.stdlib export package ...`). Kotlin now ships as a nested Jar-in-Jar library: NeoForge deduplicates it against any other mod's copy and loads the newest. Fiw Custom Items still needs no extra Kotlin mod on NeoForge. Affected NeoForge 1.21.1, 1.21.8 and 1.21.11; Fabric was not affected. ### Added - **`on_boss_phase` trigger** — fires held and worn item abilities for players near a FIW Bosses boss when it changes phase, with the boss as the target. Filter with `range`, `phase` (only when entering that phase) and `bosses` (boss config ids). Needs FIW Bosses 1.2.0+. - **`boss_phase` ability** — admin tool that moves a FIW Bosses boss to the `next`, `prev`, or a `set` phase without touching its HP. Operator-only by default (`requireOp`). A refused use says why (single-phase boss, already first/last phase, fight not started), at most once per second. Example: `examples/fiw_bosses_integration/items/phase_warden_rod.json`; `raiders_sigil.json` shows `on_boss_phase`.

## [1.3.0] - Minecraft 1.21.8 support and three new abilities ### Added - **Minecraft 1.21.8 support** — new `fabric-1.21.8` and `neoforge-1.21.8` modules, backed by a new `common-1.21.8` implementation. 1.21.8 predates Mojang's `ResourceLocation`→`Identifier` rename (that lands at 1.21.9+), so it needed its own port rather than reusing 1.21.1 or 1.21.11 outright — see `AGENT.md`'s API-notes table for the exact divergences (particle option types, command permission API, the `AbstractArrow` package). Every existing item, ability, and system behaves identically on 1.21.8 as on 1.21.11. - **`geyser_burst`** (Water) — a raycast counterpart to `tidal_surge`: erupt a geyser at a targeted point up to `range` blocks away, launching everything within `radius` upward, dealing light magic damage, and applying SOAKED. Good for launching a cluster off a ledge or setting up a `storm_chain` follow-up. See `examples/items/tidewaker_trident.json`. - **`ember_burst`** (Fire) — on kill, a small fire nova erupts at the corpse and ignites nearby enemies. A follow-up payoff for `on_kill` weapons — chain kills to clear a cluster. - **`soul_lash`** (Soul) — spends one stored soul per hit (instead of draining the whole pool like `soul_surge`) for a smaller, repeatable burst of bonus magic damage plus lifesteal. Requires `soulCapacity` on the item; does nothing and costs no cooldown when the item holds too few souls. See `examples/items/soulforged_scythe.json`.

## [1.2.0] - New abilities and deeper customization ### Added - **`teleport_behind`** — a standalone blink to a safe spot behind your target (`behindDistance`), with optional armor-piercing `damage` (`ignoreArmor` true/false/percent), particles, sound and a message. Works from `on_attack` (the struck target) or `on_right_click` (the entity under the crosshair within `targetRange`). - **`lightning_rain`** — mark a circle at the crosshair (`targetRange`, `radius`), telegraph it, then rain bolts down on a fully custom schedule. Give a `groups` array of `{count, delayTicks}` to place bolts exactly (one, then one 10t later, then three together), or omit it for `count` bolts spread over `waves` `waveInterval` apart. Each bolt is cosmetic by default and damages everything within `aoeRadius` of its strike. Example: `examples/items/stormcaller_staff.json` - **`lightning_ray`** — a straight line of bolts that march forward from your look direction, one every `boltInterval` ticks up to `range`, each landing on the ground and damaging within `aoeRadius`. A "run or get fried" lane. - **`repair`** — a repair kit: hold it and right-click while a damaged item is in your other hand (or armor) to restore its durability by `repairAmount` (+ optional `repairPercent`) or `fullRepair`. The kit is spent per use (shrinks by one, or burns its own durability with `useKitDurability`). An optional `targets` filter (items/bases/tags) limits what it mends. - **`homing_bolt`** — a projectile that curves toward the nearest enemy as it flies, turning at most `turnRate` degrees per tick and re-aiming within `trackRange`; deals `damage` in `aoeRadius` on contact or at `range`. - **`aegis_shield`** — raise an on-demand barrier that swallows incoming hits for `duration` ticks. A `pool` of damage is absorbed; each hit is eaten whole while the pool lasts and the hit that drains it shatters the barrier. A real damage gate, not extra hearts. Damage that bypasses invulnerability (`/kill`, the void) and the curse system's drain are never absorbed. - **`stun_strike`** — true hard crowd-control: on hit the target is locked for `duration` ticks (a per-tick sweep zeroes its movement while stacked Slowness / Weakness / Mining Fatigue stop it attacking or mining). A full freeze on mobs; a hard root and near-total disable on players. - **`apply_effect`** — the general-purpose potion-effect tool: name any vanilla effect and drop it on the caster or the target, for any trigger, with `duration` / `amplifier` / `ambient` / `particles`. - **Skill-based ritual/mystical abilities** — abilities that reward execution over spam: **`blood_debt`** (pay HP to bank charges, spend them on hits before the debt collects and backlashes), **`void_rift`** (a telegraphed rift that drags enemies in, then detonates — you cast it *before* they arrive), **`phase_shade`** (blink forward leaving a shade, re-cast to snap back in the window), **`gravity_singularity`** (a hold-to-charge pull scaled by charge time, with an optional self-cost), and a set of **channelled** abilities — hold sneak and stand still while a progress bar fills, broken by moving or taking a hit: **`exsanguinate`** (bleed into a blood nova), **`blood_circle`** (channel a ritual: AoE damage + party buffs), and **`marionette`** (grab and puppet a mob while you're rooted). Plus a timing/positioning set: **`riposte`** (parry a hit just before it lands to negate + reflect it, then land an empowered strike), **`sanguine_tether`** (mark and bind a target to split your incoming damage onto it), **`ley_line`** (two anchors + a damaging/healing line between them), and **`altar_sacrifice`** (execute a low-HP target for a boon). Finally two execution-heavy casts: **`runic_sequence`** (draw a spell by clicking in a look-pitch pattern — up/down/level — in order) and **`heartbeat_cast`** (click *on the beat* of a steady pulse to empower the burst). See [Item Config Docs](ITEM_CONFIG_DOCS.md#blood_debt). - **Multi-block mining** (`mining` root field) — turn a tool into a vein-miner, 3×3 hammer, or forward tunnel-borer. `vein` flood-fills connected matching blocks (ores, or logs for a tree-feller), `area` breaks a plane facing you, `tunnel` extends it forward. Extra blocks break through your own game mode so drops, XP, Fortune/Silk Touch and durability all behave normally; filter by `whitelist`/`tags`, cap with `maxBlocks`, and hold sneak to mine one block. The tool never snaps mid-vein (unbreakable/infinite tools mine whole veins free). See [Multi-block Mining](ITEM_CONFIG_DOCS.md#multi-block-mining). ### Changed - **Attribute lock** — a Fiw item's configured `attributes` are now re-stamped after any anvil or smithing-table operation, so a rename, repair, book-enchant, netherite upgrade or trim can never leave it with attributes other than the ones its config declares. Imbued attribute bonuses are replayed on top, so player-earned imbuements survive the station. - **`enchanting.allowEnchant`** — new per-item flag. `false` blocks *adding* enchantments at the anvil (books, combining enchanted copies) while still allowing rename and repair — the inverse of `allowRename`. Also blocks the item acting as an enchant donor from the sacrifice slot. See [Enchanting Control](ITEM_CONFIG_DOCS.md#enchanting-control). - **Imbue self-targeting** — a catalyst can now imbue the item in your **main hand**: hold the target in the main hand and the catalyst in the off hand. The catalyst never imbues itself. - **Tiered resonance** — resonance abilities take a per-ability `minPieces` (default = the set's `resonanceRequires`), so one set can grant a 2-piece bonus *and* a stronger 4-piece bonus. - **Proc groups** — abilities sharing a `procGroup` on the same trigger are mutually exclusive: one weighted roll (by each ability's `chance`) fires at most one of them, instead of every eligible ability firing. Abilities whose `cost` can't be paid never enter the roll. Sibling to `cooldownGroup`. Works on imbued (`addAbilities`) abilities too. - **Ability scaling** — any ability can carry a `scaling` block whose entries add `perPoint × stat` to a numeric param at fire time, where `stat` is `streak_tier`, `imbue_count`, `charges`, or `max_health`. Static abilities become build-defined curves. The scaled param must have an explicit base value in `params` (configs without one fail to load). Works on imbued abilities too. ### Fixed > **Update immediately** — a `run_command` ability using the `{target}` placeholder could be > abused for privilege escalation: a mob renamed to `@a` (or a selector) made the command run on > everyone at full permission. All placeholders are now stripped to safe characters before use. - **State survives everything now** — player- and admin-set state is never wiped when an item is rebuilt. A `/fiwtools reload`, an artifact **awakening**, or a crafting **upgrade recipe** now carries the item's imbuements, binding owner, souls, killstreak, stance, charges, and any enchantments / attribute modifiers / armor trim / dye that a player, command, datapack or other mod added — instead of returning a stripped-down copy. Awakening progress is intentionally reset when an item transforms so it can't instantly trigger the next stage. - **Player enchant upgrades stick** — upgrading a config enchantment at an anvil (e.g. Sharpness 3 → 4) is no longer snapped back to the configured level on the next reload. - **Imbue lore stays** — `appendLore` lines added by an imbuement are no longer erased a second later on items that also use `dynamicLore`. - **Unbreakable items keep their abilities** — an item that earns `unbreakable` (via `rechargeOnKill`) no longer loses access to its own durability-cost abilities; the cost is simply free when there is no durability to spend. - **`repair` on infinite items** — repairing an `infinite: damage` item now sticks immediately instead of possibly reverting on the next use. - **`stun_strike` no longer air-freezes bosses** — targets immune to the stun's effects (the Ender Dragon, and anything that can't be affected) are skipped rather than frozen in place. - **`imbue` requires a single item** — imbuing a stack is refused (message key `stacked`), closing a dupe where splitting the stack yielded one imbued item per unit for a single catalyst charge. - **Anvils and smithing tables keep foreign attributes** — attribute modifiers added by admin commands, datapacks or other mods are no longer wiped when a Fiw item passes through an anvil or smithing-table operation (they were previously rebuilt from config + imbuements only). - **Resonance counts distinct set pieces** — a set bonus can no longer be triggered by holding two copies of the same piece (e.g. one weapon in each hand); only distinct pieces count toward `resonanceRequires` / `minPieces`.

See [Item Config Docs](ITEM_CONFIG_DOCS.md#blood_debt). - **Multi-block mining** (`mining` root field) — turn a tool into a vein-miner, 3×3 hammer, or forward tunnel-borer. `vein` flood-fills connected matching blocks (ores, or logs for a tree-feller), `area` breaks a plane facing you, `tunnel` extends it forward.

## [1.1.1] - HOTFIX: custom recipe crafting dupe > **Update immediately if you use custom recipes.** Taking a custom recipe's result from a > crafting grid did not consume the ingredients — vanilla found no recipe of its own for the > grid and handed every ingredient back as a "remainder", merging it onto the grid stacks. > A slot holding n items came back as roughly 2n, so players could multiply any ingredient > infinitely; the resulting oversized stacks (>99) also failed chunk/Ledger serialization. ### Added - **`arc_slash_barrage`** — cinematic single-target combo: opening line + charge-up sound, a volley of arc slashes rolled at configurable angles carving a single victim, then a teleport behind them and one heavy armor-ignoring finisher. Targets mobs and players; with no victim it slashes the air in front instead. Every message, sound, particle, roll, delay and damage number is a param; `ignoreArmor`/`slashIgnoreArmor` take true/false or a percent for partial armor piercing; the slash trail itself is drawn with a fully purple witch/dragon-breath/spark mix (`arcParticles`) - **`arc_slash_storm`** — the same engine as an area ultimate: every slash fires at every matching entity in `radius` (default: players and mobs within 40), 15 rolls fanning flat to near-vertical, no finisher. Example item: `examples/items/dismantle_blade.json` - **`beam`** — the Fiw Bosses beam attack as an item ability: spiral charge-up at the eyes, then a sustained end-rod/spark beam along the crosshair that damages everything in its cylinder; sweeps with your aim (or locks direction), stops at walls unless `throughBlocks`. All sounds, particles, windup/duration/damage/width/range configurable. Example: `examples/items/beam_staff.json` - **`slash_wave`** — flying crescent slash (purple, matching the arc-slash family) that travels along the crosshair cutting everything it passes; `waves`+`spreadAngle` fires a fan, `roll` tilts it vertical. Example: `examples/items/crescent_edge.json` - **`arrow_rain`** — mark a zone at the crosshair, telegraph ring, then real arrows (kill credit, not collectable) pour down in waves; `flaming`/`critical` options. Example: `examples/items/tempest_bow.json` - **`sonic_boom`** — warden-style charge then an instant shockwave ray that pierces walls, armor-ignoring damage plus heavy knockback. Example: `examples/items/warden_horn.json` - **`grapple`** — hook onto a block and get reeled in (sneak lets go); `examples/items/hookshot.json` - **`summon`** — temporary allied mobs that fight for you and poof after a duration; `examples/items/wolfpack_totem.json` - **Killstreak momentum** — per-stack `killstreak` block: consecutive kills build buff tiers, death resets, `{streak}`/`{streak_tier}` lore placeholders; `examples/items/bloodthirst_axe.json` - **`maxHealth` sacrifice cost** — abilities can permanently (until death) cut the payer's max health - **Seven new triggers** — `on_shoot`, `on_arrow_hit`, `on_shield_block`, `on_crit`, `on_block_place`, `on_fall` (with `minDistance`), and `on_charge_release` - **Hold-to-charge items** — `chargeable` block gives bow-style charging; release fires `on_charge_release` abilities tiered by `minChargeTicks`/`maxChargeTicks`; `examples/items/stormcaller_lance.json` - **Stances** — `stances` list + sneak+swap-hands toggle; abilities gate on `stance`, `{stance}` lore placeholder; `examples/items/twinfang_blade.json` - **Recipe book & viewer display for custom crafts** (1.21.2+ versions) — custom recipes are published into the vanilla recipe manager as real server-side recipes, so the vanilla recipe book, JEI, REI and EMI all show them (custom names/lore included in ingredients and results) through plain vanilla display sync — zero client-side code, zero viewer dependencies, vanilla clients unaffected; recipes carry real placements (base item standing in for `fiw:` ingredients) so JEI lists them too. A registered recipe serializer (with a real stream codec rebuilding the recipe client-side) is required for this: JEI/REI/EMI read Fabric's own recipe-sync module, which only syncs recipes whose serializer a client has declared support for — the vanilla recipe book uses a separate always-on display path and doesn't need this, which is why it worked first and viewers didn't - **Friendlier attributes** — `type` accepts bare constant names (`ATTACK_DAMAGE`, `MOVEMENT_SPEED`, any case) alongside full ids, auto-prefixed per game version; `body` slot and legacy operation names (`addition`, `multiply_base`, `multiply_total`) accepted; docs now list every vanilla attribute - **Enchantment transfer in custom crafts** — an `enchantments` block on a recipe carries the consumed ingredients' enchantments onto the result, so players upgrading enchanted gear into custom gear keep their enchantments. Fully configurable: `mode` (`merge` / `keep_old` / `keep_new`), per-enchant `conflict` policy when both sides have the same one (`highest`, `lowest`, `old`, `new`, `add`, or anvil-style `combine`), donor filtering (`from`), id whitelist/blacklist (`only`/`exclude`), `transferCurses`, `respectMaxLevel`, hard `maxLevel` cap, `onlyCompatible` (result must be able to hold it), `checkConflicts` (drop vanilla- incompatible pairs). Safe by construction: donors are always consumed by the craft (transfer moves, never copies), final levels are clamped to the 1–255 storable range, duplicates are impossible, enchanted books donate and receive via stored enchantments, and a `count > 1` result refuses to load without an explicit `allowMultiplied` opt-in so enchantments can't be silently multiplied across copies - **Enchanting control per item** — new `enchanting` root field decides what each station may do with the item: `table` (enchanting table), `anvil` (books/repair/combine, blocked with the item in either slot), `grindstone` (disenchanting — still blocked by default so configured enchantments stay permanent; two-item grindstone merges involving a Fiw item stay blocked even when enabled), `smithing` (netherite upgrade/trims), and `allowRename` (`false` keeps the anvil usable for enchantments but forces the configured name back onto the result; rename-only operations yield nothing, and renames are wiped on reload re-sync). Defaults match the old behaviour exactly; explicit values override the curse locks, and the enchanting-table block now also works on 1.21.1 (which previously had no way to refuse cursed items at the table) ### Fixed - **Crafting dupe** — taking a custom recipe result now consumes exactly one item per grid slot (crafting remainders like buckets are still returned), instead of letting vanilla's no-recipe fallback refund and double the ingredients - Recipe results with a config `count` above the item's max stack size are clamped, so a mis-configured recipe can no longer inject oversized stacks into the world - Stale custom crafting results can no longer be exploited: if `/fiwtools reload` removes or changes a recipe while its result is showing in an open grid, the result is wiped (vanilla's own result is recomputed), and a take racing the same tick still consumes the ingredients instead of triggering vanilla's no-recipe refund - `on_drop` no longer fires for the mod's own overflow drops (full-inventory spill from `/fiwtools give`, infinite-ammo returns, keep-on-death restores, crafting remainders) — it now only means a deliberate player toss - `infinite.replaceCount` above the item's max stack size is clamped, closing the same oversized- stack hole as recipe `count` - `beam` with `windup: 0` now plays its fire sound - Summons no longer risk being culled by their own stray-cleanup during spawn - Kills are credited to the weapon that actually scored them — a projectile kill resolves to the bow that fired the arrow even if you swapped items mid-flight (on_kill, boss kills, awakening, killstreak) - `on_shield_block` fires for the item that actually blocked, not both hands - Imbued abilities now keep their `cost`, `stance` and `cooldownGroup` (previously silently dropped) - `on_pickup` abilities act on the real inventory stack instead of a snapshot copy - `soul_surge` no longer burns its souls when nothing was in range - `/fiwtools reload` rebuilds preserve killstreak and stance state alongside awakening/binding/charges - `uncurse` with `scope: main_hand` targets the selected hotbar slot (was always slot 0) - Builds with `--configure-on-demand` no longer fail on the core source-set reference (all loader modules now declare the core evaluation dependency) - The stale-result marker is stored as a defensive copy so slot mutations can't break the reload-race protection - `on_pickup` resolves the exact picked-up stack when the player carries multiple copies of the same item (component match first, id match as fallback) - `deal_damage` awakening progress resolves the credited item through the damage source, so projectile damage credits the bow even after an item swap

## [1.0.4] - Custom crafting, infinite items, awakening, binding, and command abilities > **Major systems expansion.** Five new server-side systems: a JSON custom crafting system, > infinite-use items, artifact awakening, bound artifacts, and command-executing abilities. > All changes are purely additive and backward-compatible — existing item configs continue > to work without modification. Still 100% server-side: vanilla clients need nothing. ### Added - **Custom crafting system** (`com.fiw.tools.recipe`): - New config folder `config/fiw_tools/recipes/` — drop JSON files, `/fiwtools reload` picks them up - Multiple recipes per file: single object, bare array, or `{ "recipes": [ ... ] }` - Shaped (`pattern` + `key`, with mirroring) and shapeless (`ingredients`) recipes - Ingredients/results: `fiw:<id>` custom items, vanilla ids, and `#namespace:tag` item tags - Craft custom items from vanilla, vanilla from custom, or custom from custom - Works in the 2x2 inventory grid and the 3x3 crafting table, fully server-side — vanilla clients craft normally - Grid protection: when Fiw items are in the grid and no custom recipe matches, vanilla results are suppressed (no more losing artifacts to the sword-repair recipe) - `/fiwtools recipes` lists every loaded recipe - **Infinite-use items** (`com.fiw.tools.infinite`): - New `infinite` item field — string shorthand (`"infinite": "keep"`) or object form - Mode `keep` (alias `normal`): the item is never consumed — infinite food, potions, snowballs, ender pearls, arrows… - Mode `damage`: each use costs `damagePerUse` durability instead of consuming the item; it breaks for real when durability runs out - Mode `replace`: the item turns into `replaceWith` (vanilla id or `fiw:` item) × `replaceCount` when used - Built on vanilla's `use_remainder` component + a re-stamp sweep — survives reloads and restarts - Arrows fired from bows/crossbows are restored to the shooter instantly via an entity-spawn hook; fired arrows can't be picked up (no duping), multishot and Infinity are handled - **Artifact awakening** (`com.fiw.tools.awaken`): - New `awakening` item block — the artifact auto-upgrades into `upgradeTo` when its condition is met - Triggers: `kill_entity` (any entity id — wither, ender dragon, or any boss), `kill_player` (any player, or one specific `playerName`), `deal_damage` (total damage dealt while holding the item), `visit_dimension` - Per-stack progress stored on the item and preserved across `/fiwtools reload` and rebuilds - `count` sets kills needed / damage required; optional action-bar progress (`showProgress`) - Awakening `message` (text codes) to the holder or the whole server (`broadcast: true`), plus a `sound` - Chain awakenings by giving the upgraded item its own `awakening` block (awaken once or many times) - Craft-based awakening: make a custom recipe whose result is the awakened item - **Bound artifacts** (`com.fiw.tools.bind`): - New `binding` item block — the artifact belongs to one player once bound - `mode: "first_use"` binds to the first player who right-clicks or attacks with it; `mode: "first_pickup"` binds to the first inventory it lands in - Non-owners can't trigger any of its abilities (`blockUse`, default on) — they get a "Bound to X" action-bar notice instead - Optional `curse: true`: non-owners carrying someone else's artifact take `cursePerTick` damage per second (same armor-bypassing damage type as the curse system) - Custom bind `message` (text codes); ownership survives reloads, rebuilds, and restarts - **Item commands** (`run_command` ability, alias `command`): - Executes any server command(s) when triggered — infinite custom abilities via the command system - Fully silent: no chat feedback, no console log, no admin broadcast - `command` (single) or `commands` (array) in params; leading `/` optional - Placeholders: `{player}`, `{uuid}`, `{x}` `{y}` `{z}` (block position), `{target}` - Works on any trigger, including the new one below - **New trigger `on_shift_right_click`** (aliases `shift_right_click`, `sneak_right_click`): - Fires instead of `on_right_click` when the player is sneaking - Backward compatible: items without a shift ability keep firing `on_right_click` while sneaking - Lets one item carry two separate right-click ability sets

free (no cooldown) if target is not frozen - `storm_chain` — on_attack: consume SOAKED → bonus damage to primary + chain damage to nearby targets; free if target is not soaked - **Soul system** (`soul/SoulHandler.kt`, `SoulAbilities.kt`): - `SoulHandler` — reads/writes `fiw_souls` in item `custom_data` using the standard NBT pattern - `soul_collector` — on_kill passive: adds one soul up to the item's `soulCapacity`; shows a `(N/M)` chat counter - `soul_surge` — on_right_click: drains all stored souls for AoE magic damage; damage = souls × `damagePerSoul`; free if no souls stored - **New item definition fields**: - `soulCapacity: Int?` — max souls this item can hold; `null` = not in the soul system - `resonanceId: String?` — set membership tag - `resonanceRequires: Int` — activation threshold (default 2) - **New passive trigger** — `while_sneaking` (`WHILE_SNEAKING`): fires held + worn abilities while the player is crouching - **Active debuff abilities** (`CombatDebuffAbilities.kt`): - `ignite` — sets target on fire for configurable seconds - `wither_touch` — applies Wither effect to target - `bleed` — applies a bleed DoT via the bleed system - **Passive debuff abilities**: - `holder_debuff` — applies configurable debuffs to the holder (balance tool) - `decay_aura` — passive aura: Wither to nearby hostiles - `ember_aura` — passive aura: ignites nearby hostiles - **Server-tick bleed DoT system** (`AbilityState`): - `BleedEntry` tracks damage-per-pulse, pulse count, and interval - `addBleed()` merges entries (max dps, min interval, max pulses) - `processBleeds()` runs each server tick; bypasses armor; can kill - **`AGENT.md`** — universal AI agent context file (gitignored); auto-describes repo layout, architecture, working rules, and full ability catalogue ### Changed - `ice_lance` and `blizzard` now also apply `FROZEN` status in addition to their vanilla Slowness effect - `tidal_surge` now also applies `SOAKED` status to every target it pushes - `FiwToolsCommon.serverTick()` now calls `ElementalStatusTracker.processTick(server)` and `AbilityState.processBleeds(server)` alongside existing handlers - `FiwToolsCommon.serverStopped()` now calls `ElementalStatusTracker.reset()` - `AbilityTrigger` extended with `RESONANCE` entry ### Requirements Same as 1.0.2 — no loader or Java version changes. - Fabric 1.21.11: Minecraft 1.21.11, Fabric Loader 0.19.2, Fabric API 0.141.4+1.21.11, Fabric Language Kotlin 1.13.11+kotlin.2.3.21, Java 21 - NeoForge 1.21.11: Minecraft 1.21.11, NeoForge 21.11.42, Kotlin runtime bundled, Java 21 - Fabric 26.x: Minecraft 26.1.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.2, Fabric API 0.148.0+26.1.2, Fabric Language Kotlin 1.13.11+kotlin.2.3.21, Java 25 ---

# Changelog All notable changes to this project are documented here. Each release's section below is used as the GitHub Release notes by the release workflow when the tag matches the version header. ## [1.0.2] - FIW Bosses-style monorepo > **Repository restructure.** This release reorganizes Fiw Tools into one root project > with shared code, loader-specific modules, shared docs, examples, CI, and release > automation. The goal is to keep Fabric, NeoForge, and future version targets in one > unified repo without breaking FIW Bosses' optional reflection integration. > ⚠️ **Not play-tested at release.** All three targets build cleanly and configs parse, but > the in-game behavior (abilities, passives, curses, imbuements, sync) was **not fully > play-tested before this release**. Fabric 1.21.11 was polished in-game before being merged > into the monorepo, so it is the most stable target; NeoForge 1.21.11 and Fabric 26.1.2 are > expected to behave the same but are still unverified. Testing of all three is in progress, and > **a hotfix is likely within 2–3 days** of release. Please report anything broken on the > [issue tracker](https://github.com/Fi3w0/Fiw-Tools/issues). ### Added - **Root monorepo layout** matching the FIW Bosses project style: - `core` - `common-1.21.11` - `fabric-1.21.11` - `neoforge-1.21.11` - `common-26.2.1` - `fabric-26.2.1` - **Minecraft-free `core` module** for shared parsing and text helpers: - `ItemDefinition` - `ItemConfigParser` - `TextCodes` - **Core unit tests** for the shared module: - item config parsing - missing required item config fields - example item JSON parsing - legacy `&` text-code segmentation - **NeoForge 1.21.11 build target**: - NeoForge module at `neoforge-1.21.11` - Java entrypoint at `FiwToolsNeoForge` - `META-INF/neoforge.mods.toml` - NeoForge server/client run configs through ModDevGradle - shared `common-1.21.11` Java, Kotlin, and resources wired into the NeoForge build - **NeoForge Kotlin packaging**: - the NeoForge jar includes Kotlin stdlib in the built mod jar - docs now explain that Fabric needs Fabric Language Kotlin separately, while the NeoForge build includes the Kotlin runtime it needs - **Fabric 1.21.11 build target** in the root monorepo: - module at `fabric-1.21.11` - shared `common-1.21.11` source and resources wired into the Fabric build - `core` output bundled into the loader jar - **Fabric 26.x build target** in the root monorepo: - module at `fabric-26.2.1` - shared `common-26.2.1` source and resources wired into the Fabric build - `core` output bundled into the loader jar - **Shared common source trees** for the active Minecraft targets: - command registration and `/fiwtools` commands - item config registry/loading - ability registry, dispatcher, targeting, cooldowns, and state - active ability implementations - passive held/worn handlers - curse handling - keep-on-death handling - item sync handling - imbuement handling - mixins for anvil, grindstone, block placement, and inventory-drop behavior - damage type data resources for curse damage behavior - **Loader-specific event adapters**: - Fabric event wiring lives in each Fabric module's `FiwTools.kt` - NeoForge event wiring lives in `FiwToolsNeoForge` - shared server lifecycle, tick, join/leave, and ability trigger handling stays in common code - **Mod icon packaging** using the root `fiw tools.jpg` artwork: - `assets/fiw-tools/icon.png` - root `icon.png` - included through the shared common resources for current loader builds - **Root documentation in the FIW Bosses style**: - `README.md` - `MODRINTH.md` - `ITEM_CONFIG_DOCS.md` - `CONTRIBUTING.md` - `SECURITY.md` - `CHANGELOG.md` - **Root example configs**: - shared example item JSON files under `examples/items` - FIW Bosses integration examples under `examples/fiw_bosses_integration` - example docs explaining where to copy item and boss configs - **FIW Bosses integration example**: - sample boss config using Fiw Tools `toolId` references - matching sample item configs used by that boss example - **GitHub project metadata**: - `CODEOWNERS` - issue templates - pull request template - `.editorconfig` - `.gitattributes` - **Build workflow**: - installs JDK 21 and JDK 25 - runs `./gradlew build --stacktrace` - uploads built jars as a workflow artifact - **Release workflow**: - builds all targets on `v*` tags - collects non-source, non-dev loader jars - excludes the standalone `core` jar from release uploads - extracts the matching changelog section into GitHub release notes ### Changed - **Project structure changed from separate loader/version folders to one root Gradle project.** The root `settings.gradle` now includes the active build targets from one place. - **Current supported build matrix is explicit and limited to the requested targets:** - Fabric 1.21.11 - NeoForge 1.21.11 - Fabric 26.x through the `fabric-26.2.1` module - **The `fabric-26.2.1` module keeps the requested folder/module name**, but the buildable Minecraft coordinate is currently `26.1.2` because Fabric's official metadata endpoint rejects `26.2.1`. - **Item config parsing moved into `core`.** The common Minecraft-facing item registry now delegates JSON parsing to `ItemConfigParser` instead of keeping that parsing model duplicated inside each common source tree. - **Text-code parsing support moved into `core`.** The `TextCodes` helper is tested without requiring Minecraft, making basic legacy color/style parsing easier to verify. - **Common entry behavior was split from loader bootstrapping.** `FiwToolsCommon` owns shared startup, tick, stop, player join/leave, and player action hooks; Fabric and NeoForge modules only adapt their loader events into those common methods. - **The 26.x common source tree was synced to the same repository shape as 1.21.11.** Its commands, item registry, ability packages, passive handlers, curse/death/sync handlers, imbuement code, mixins, data resources, and icon resources now live under `common-26.2.1`. - **FIW Bosses public API surface was kept stable for reflection users.** `FiwToolsAPI` still exposes: - `isLoaded()` - `listIds()` - `getItemStack(String id, MinecraftServer server, int count)` - `getItemStack(String id, HolderLookup.Provider registries, int count)` - **Fabric docs were made more precise.** Fabric support is documented as server-side friendly for matching vanilla clients when using server-safe behavior. - **NeoForge docs were made more visible.** README and Modrinth notes now state that NeoForge is a first-class build, is installed on the server only (the mod is server-side and clients do not need it), and includes the Kotlin runtime inside the Fiw Tools NeoForge jar. - **README was rewritten around the monorepo.** It now documents supported targets, loader requirements, commands, features, build commands, examples, FIW Bosses integration, and repository layout. - **Modrinth description was rewritten.** It now presents the JSON item workflow, supported versions, loader requirements, ability highlights, FIW Bosses integration, and the 26.1.2/26.2.1 coordinate note. - **Item config docs were expanded into a full reference.** The docs cover item JSON fields, commands, abilities, passives, curses, imbuements, API usage, examples, server/client behavior notes, and current limitations. ### Fixed - **Docs no longer make the project look Fabric-only.** README and Modrinth now include NeoForge install and Kotlin runtime notes next to the Fabric dependency notes. - **Docs no longer say only "26.2.1" for the current 26.x target.** The supported-version notes now explain that the module is named `fabric-26.2.1`, while the buildable Minecraft target is currently `26.1.2`. - **FIW Bosses integration was kept optional.** The documented API remains reflection-friendly so FIW Bosses can skip `toolId` entries when Fiw Tools is absent. - **The mod icon is now available from shared resources.** Loader jars include `icon.png` and `assets/fiw-tools/icon.png` from the generated `fiw tools.jpg` artwork. - **NeoForge jar now carries the real mod version.** The `neoforge-1.21.11` build sets `version`/`group` from `gradle.properties`, so the jar name and `neoforge.mods.toml` report the mod version instead of `unspecified`. ### Requirements - Fabric 1.21.11: - Minecraft 1.21.11 - Fabric Loader 0.19.2 - Fabric API 0.141.4+1.21.11 - Fabric Language Kotlin 1.13.11+kotlin.2.3.21 - Java 21 - NeoForge 1.21.11: - Minecraft 1.21.11 - NeoForge 21.11.42 - Kotlin runtime included inside the Fiw Tools NeoForge jar - Java 21 - Fabric 26.x: - module folder: `fabric-26.2.1` - current buildable Minecraft target: 26.1.2 - Fabric Loader 0.19.2 - Fabric API 0.148.0+26.1.2 - Fabric Language Kotlin 1.13.11+kotlin.2.3.21 - Java 25 ### Verification - `./gradlew build --continue --console=plain` completed successfully after the monorepo restructure. - The build covered: - `:core:test` - `:fabric-1.21.11:build` - `:neoforge-1.21.11:build` - `:fabric-26.2.1:build` - Built loader jars were checked for packaged icon resources. - FIW Bosses-facing `FiwToolsAPI` method signatures were checked in the compiled output. ### Known notes - The `fabric-26.2.1` module name is intentional, but the Minecraft coordinate remains `26.1.2` until a valid Fabric/Minecraft `26.2.1` coordinate exists. - Fabric builds need Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin as separate mods. - Fiw Tools is server-side only on every target — it ships no client-side code, so it is installed on the server and clients do not need the mod (fully vanilla clients can connect on Fabric).

Fabric and NeoForge modules only adapt their loader events into those common methods.

# Changelog All notable changes to **FIW Tools** are listed here. This is a **stable** release — not a beta. Bug reports are handled in small patch releases (`1.0.x`) with hotfixes and fixes only. ## [1.0.1] — First stable release The first stable build of FIW Tools for Fabric 1.21.11. A fully server-side, JSON-driven custom item framework — vanilla clients connect with no install. ### Added - **60 abilities** across PvP, PvE, utility, team support, and passives, plus the `uncurse` and `imbue` admin tools. - **7 triggers** — `on_right_click`, `on_attack`, `on_kill`, `on_hurt`, `on_block_break`, `while_held`, and `while_worn`. - **Held & worn passives** — the same passive engine runs in your hands (`while_held`) and on every armor slot (`while_worn`), with health / combat / underwater / enemy-near gates and a per-slot filter. - **Curse system** — mark an item cursed with a player whitelist; non-whitelisted holders take armor- and resistance-bypassing damage until they drop it or die. Optional **ender-chest detection**. Cursed items can't be renamed, repaired, enchanted, grindstoned, or placed. A consumable Blessed Scroll lifts a curse. - **Imbuing system** — catalysts upgrade items with deterministic or weighted-random outcomes (god-rolls and downgrades included), above-vanilla enchant levels, extra attributes, and new abilities. Per-target `imbueLimit` and per-catalyst charges. Imbuements survive `/fiwtools reload`. - **Block-place protection** — block-based custom items can no longer be placed. - **Commands** — `curse add/remove/list`, `curse whitelist add/remove`, `uncurse_held`, `imbue best/roll/reset/clear/log`. - **15 showcase example items** in `examples/items/`, each demonstrating a different feature. ### Requirements - Minecraft 1.21.11 · Fabric Loader 0.19.2+ · Fabric API · Fabric Language Kotlin · Java 21 - Server-side only. --- *Future `1.0.x` releases will be small hotfix and bug-fix updates.*
