We've passed 10,000 total downloads across platforms! Thank you so much for checking out the mod and supporting the project.
I'm building Ember and Icicle as a boss-focused Action-RPG for Minecraft, with a strong emphasis on creature design, fluid animations, and learning boss patterns. If you enjoy bosses with personality, custom mechanics, and a dark fantasy atmosphere, you are in the right place.
Note on Difficulty: This mod is designed to offer extreme difficulty. Learning attack patterns, watching visual telegraphs, and preparing your gear are essential.
📌 Beta 0.2.3 - Act I: Overworld Incursions
Right now, the Fire and Ice dimensions are still in development, so all current content generates in the Overworld.
What's currently in the mod:
- 2 major bosses: The Fire Gargoyle and the Ice Sentinel
- 2 dungeons with puzzles, traps, and 6 unique enemies
- Gem socketing and companion upgrades (Oath Slabs)
- Custom boss and dungeon music composed for the mod
Coming next (Beta 3):
- New Overworld forest biome
- Subterranean rift structures
- First NPCs & Companions (Aria & Nyr)
- Questlines, Bestiary, and Lore GUIs
- Elemental status reactions & Boss Trophies
- Survival unlocking for the Wanderer's Armor and Wanderer's Edge (currently preview-only in the Creative menu)

🔥 The Emberbound Cathedral
In future updates, this structure will serve as the gateway to the Fire Dimension.
THE BOSS: Fire Gargoyle
A magma-born monstrosity that guards the heights.
- Aerial Combat: The Gargoyle alternates between flight patterns and ground combat.
- Visual Telegraphs: Pay close attention to particles! When you see the Red Flash, dodge or block immediately!
- Magma Beam: Its ultimate attack is a giant laser.
Boss Mechanics
- Stats: 300 HP (Regenerates 1 HP/s).
- Multiplayer Scaling: Health increases by 40% per additional player nearby.
- Passive Defenses:
- Anti-One-Shot: Damage taken is capped at 10% of its max health per hit.
- Fiery Thorns: 30% chance to reflect damage if the attacker is on fire.
- Combat Mechanics:
- Smart Targeting: The Gargoyle dynamically switches to the closest or weakest player.
- Ultimate Charge: Gains energy over time; charges faster when players are taking burn damage.
- (100% - 50% HP): Uses basic Fireballs, Triple Bursts, and high-speed Dashes. Watch out for its Vortex, it will suck you in before a big explosion.
- At 50% HP (Below 50% HP): The Gargoyle becomes more aggressive and gains access to additional attacks:
- Magma Shield: Absorbs damage. If broken, it explodes, so stay back!
- Dive Bomb: Slams the ground like a meteor for heavy AoE damage.
- Environmental Hazards: Invokes Tornados and Meteor Rains.
- ULTIMATE - Magma Beam: When fully charged, it fires a massive laser (64 blocks long).
Other mobs:
Ember Effigy: A living tank. She can block your attacks and reflect your own projectiles. Each time she blocks, she does more damage, so be careful.
Mob Mechanics & Loot
- Behavior: A slow-moving tank (100 HP) that prioritizes the closest threat.
- Perfect Guard: It can enter a defensive stance, absorbing up to 65 damage and reflecting projectiles back at the player.
- Guard Break: Only a hit stronger than 65 damage can break its stance, leaving it vulnerable.
- Loot: Rare chance to drop an Effigy Relic.
Flame Imp: Agile and erratic. Its goal is to harass you and burn your surroundings.
Mob Mechanics & Loot
- Behavior: Highly agile (45 HP). It will dodge if you get too close.
- Dash Attack: Leaves a trail of fire.
- Loot: Common drop of Imp Sparks.
Iron Roller: A rhythmic trap. Every few seconds, it releases a seismic shockwave. Learn the pattern: jump to dodge the wave!
Mob Mechanics & Loot
- Behavior: Completely immobile, immune to projectiles and magic.
- Seismic Shockwave: Every 4 seconds, it leaps and slams the ground, sending out a wave of fire and smoke (9-block radius).
- Rhythm Strategy: The wave applies Weakness and Knockback. Jump over the wave to avoid all damage.
- Loot: Guaranteed Iron Ingots.
❄️ The Cryos Technomantic Vault
In future updates, this vault will serve as the gateway to the Ice Dimension.
THE BOSS: Ice Sentinel
A mechanical guardian protecting the Cryos Vault.
Boss Mechanics
- Multiplayer Scaling: Health increases by 40% per additional player nearby.
- Passive Defenses:
- Anti-One-Shot: Damage taken is capped at 10% of its max health per hit.
- Shield Breaker: Almost all of its heavy attacks and stomps will instantly disable your shield.
- The Cryo Shield Mechanic: Its attacks apply a freezing Cryo effect. If the Sentinel hits you while you are afflicted, it absorbs that energy to generate an Ice Shield for itself.
- Combat Mechanics:
- Dynamic Moveset: Up close, it uses heavy melee combos and hammer slams. If you run away, it will leap across the arena, throw spike bombs, or fire homing missiles.
- Shockwaves: Its heavy jump-stomp creates an expanding ice wave across the ground.
- Ice Beam: It locks onto a target and fires a sweeping laser that freezes anything in its path.
- ULTIMATE - Absolute Blizzard: It gains energy over time during the fight. When fully charged, it blinds everyone in the arena, pulls players toward the center, and releases a big AoE explosion.
Other mobs:
Cryo Aerial Watcher: A flying support drone. It scans the area and alerts other enemies.
Cryos Automaton: A fast and aggressive automaton. It sprints toward you for melee attacks and enters an "enraged" state when its health drops below 30%.
Cryos Executioner: A heavy tank armed with an ice sword. If it hits you while you have the Cryo effect, it shatters the ice, dealing bonus damage based on your armor.
💎 RPG Systems
Gem Socketing System: Embed gems into your equipment for stat boosts, or remove them using a Dissolution Scroll.

- Fixed Ember Effigy and Ember Statue getting stuck in an infinite blocking loop when surrounded by enemies.
- Fixed the Ember Statue getting stuck inside blocks upon "dying".
Improvements & QoL:
- Reduced Boss Bar UI sizes by 25%.
- Changed the advanced tooltip key from SHIFT to CTRL
- Hitting a blocking Ember Effigy or Ember Statue now applies a small knockback to the attacker.
- You can now right-click an active Ember Statue with a Lesser Ancestral Flame to heal it (Grants Regeneration II for 60s).

Fixed: Immediate crash upon world creation or entering new chunks for players who do not have the Terralith mod installed.
Due to a technical oversight in the structure generation files, Terralith accidentally became a hard dependency. This has been completely removed.

**Ember and Icicle v0.2.0 Beta
New Features (The Ice Update):**
Cryos Technomantic Vault: New main structure. You will need to solve puzzles to get inside.
New Boss Finished - Ice Sentinel: The battle is now fully ready and functional.
New Vault Mobs: Added the Cryo Aerial Watcher, Cryos Automaton, and Cryos Executioner.
Dynamic Spawners: Custom spawner blocks in the structures now scale based on the number of players. If you enter as a group, more mobs will spawn.
Weapons, Relics & Socketing:
New Swords: Added the Magmatic Cleaver and the Cryos Ice Breaker, both with their own unique abilities.
Ranged Weapons: Added elemental bombs.
Socketing System Improvements: Upgraded the gem socketing system and gave the GUI a nice update.
New Scrolls: You can now find scrolls in vanilla dungeons used to craft socketing-related items.
New Relics with special abilities.
Molten Gargoyle Aegis: Upgraded the item and changed its crafting recipe.
Bosses, Mobs & Dungeons:
New Music: Changed the music for dungeons and bosses. We are now using tracks made by real composers.
Boss Intros: Improved boss spawn animations. Boss titles will now appear on screen when the battle starts.
Boss Rebalancing: Tweaked several attributes and added invulnerability frames.
Emberbound Cathedral Overhaul: Added new rooms, new trap blocks, and better loot.
Dungeon System: Improved dungeon protection and internal rules.
Mob Tweaks: The Ember Effigy now has new abilities. Also made a small adjustment to the Iron Roller.
Ember Statue Companion: Improved how the companion works.
Lore & Technical Changes:
New Resistance Attributes: Added new resistance stats that will be very relevant later on.
General loot improvements and new loot tables.
Added a small piece of lore hinting at what is coming in the next major update.

New Features & Mechanics:
New Gem Embedding System: You can now embed gems into your equipment to boost your stats.
The Ember Statue Companion: A new summonable ally! Use the new summoning item to call the Ember Statue to fight by your side.
Pet Upgrade System: Use the new gem system to upgrade your pets and improve their combat efficiency.
Ice Sentinel (Combat Preview - WIP): The next major boss is here for early testing! It is currently available only in Creative Mode while its dedicated structure is being built. let me know what you think.
Structures & Bosses (Fire Gargoyle)
Emberbound Cathedral Overhaul: Improved the exterior architecture of the Cathedral to give it more depth and detail (thanks for the feedback!).
Rebalanced Cathedral Loot: Chests now have much better and fairer loot tables.
Fire Gargoyle Upgrades: Added 2 brand new attacks.
Boss Bar Visual Update: The Fire Gargoyle's health bar has been visually adjusted so it no longer takes up too much screen space.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed a critical bug where the boss music would not play correctly or overlap.
Polished the Fire Gargoyle's general attack and fixed minor combat bugs.

Gameplay & Balance:
Ember Effigy Stun State: Added a new stun mechanic/state for the Ember Effigy.
Note: This will only occur if the Ember Effigy is blocking and you deal more than 65 points of damage. This is equivalent to 65% of her maximum HP.
Loot Table Tweaks
Audio Improvements:
Iron Roller Sound Radius: Adjusted the sound distance of the Iron Roller.
Effigy Relic Audio: Updated the sound effect for the Effigy Relic to better fit its thematic vibe.
Magma Barrier Audio: Changed the sound effects of the Magma Barrier.
Bug Fixes:
Boss Music Overlap Fix: Addressed a reported issue where the boss arena music would continue playing even after the player left the arena or flew away in Spectator mode.
The boss music will now correctly stop and reset the moment you exit the boss area!

Visual & Texture Improvements:
Fire Gargoyle Texture: Improved the overall texture, shading, and contrast of the boss. It previously felt a bit flat and too dark, which hid some details. The model should now look much more defined in-game.
Improved the textures for the Iron Roller and enhanced the emissive (glowing) details on the Ember Effigy.
Upgraded the visual texture for the boss's projectile.
Gameplay & Balance:
Emberbound Cathedral Loot Nerf: Adjusted the loot tables within the structure. The loot is now more balanced for regular survival progression and much friendlier for Modpack integration.
Bug Fixes:
Altitude Animation Fix: Fixed a visual glitch where the Fire Gargoyle's model/animations would sometimes disappear when flying at very high altitudes.
Bossbar Visibility (Tentative Fix): Applied a fix for a reported bug where the bossbar would sometimes only display in Spectator mode and hide during Survival mode. (If you still experience this issue, please let me know!)
