Disenchanting - A Fair Exchange!
This Datapack adds a new Disenchanting mechanic, allowing you to transfer enchantments from items onto books!
But be careful - magic is not as simple as it seems. You're attempting to manually rewrite the magical runes stored within an enchanted item into a book. Since you're no perfect mage, some runes may be copied incorrectly, others may end up in the wrong order, and sometimes you might even accidentally create entirely new curses!
Every enchantment comes at a price. Are you willing to take the risk?
Main Features
🔥 Disenchanting - Transfer Enchantments from Items to Books!
Using a Smithing Table, you can now extract enchantments from items and transfer them onto books.
Required Ingredients:
- 1 Written Book (Book and Quill)
- 1 Enchanted Item
- 1 Blaze Powder or Fire Charge
How It Works:
- Place the Book and Quill, Enchanted Item, and Blaze Powder or Fire Charge into the Smithing Table.
- The enchanted item will be destroyed in the process.
- In exchange, you'll receive a book containing the item's enchantments.
However, the process isn't completely safe!
☠️ The Risk - Unexpected Curses!
Since you're manually copying magical runes, there's a chance that something will go wrong. You might accidentally write additional curses into your book!
The outcome is determined by the following probabilities:

| No additional curses | 20% |
| 1 random curse | 50% |
| 2 random curses | 20% |
| 3 random curses | 5% |
| Cursed Book | 5% |
Cursed Book (5% chance):
The worst possible outcome! Your book loses all its original enchantments and becomes a Cursed Book containing only curses.
As compensation, you'll receive up to 200 Experience Points (approximately 11 levels) for all the enchantments lost in the process.
Remember: Disenchanting is a trade-off. You sacrifice an enchanted item to preserve its enchantments, but the result may come with a dangerous price!
🛠️ Compatible Design to be used with Jab's Fixed MC Mod
This Datapack is designed to be used alongside Jab's Fixed MC Mod, complementing its enchanting mechanics and providing an additional way to manage enchantments.
When Fixed MC mod appears, this data-pack detects it:
When Fixed MC is not installed, this Datapack treats Runescribed Books and Cursed Books as Enchanted Books, just like in vanilla Minecraft.
However, when Fixed MC is installed, the Datapack automatically detects it and changes this behavior.
With Fixed MC, Runescribed Books and Cursed Books are treated as regular Books that are enchanted instead of Enchanted Toms. This prevents them from affecting the Enchanting Table through chiseled bookshelf. And prevents combining this books. This brings balance, and complementing Fixed MC mechanics
🔗 Full Compatibility with Enchantments Encore!
Enchantments and curses added by Enchantments Encore can also be transferred from items onto books using the Disenchanting mechanic. This means that both vanilla and custom enchantments, including curses, are fully supported and retain their functionality after being transferred.
