Create: Smog
Adds pollution to Create. Compatible with PoTR.
Описание
Create: Smog
An industrial pollution addon for Create on Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge.
Anything that burns in your factory (furnaces, Blaze Burners, engines, generators from other mods) puts smoke into the air of the chunk it stands in. Smog adds the Create-style machinery to deal with it pollutions. smokestacks to carry exhaust away, kinetic filters and scrubbers to take it out, and Basin recipes to treat the waste fluids that come out the other end.
Smog can run its own pollution model or work on top of Pollution of the Realms (PoTR). See Pollution models.
a small info about features!
Exhaust. Stack Smokestack blocks on top of a source, or run Exhaust Ducts from it to a smokestack somewhere else. Short stacks keep the smoke around the factory. Tall ones (12 blocks by default) send most of it up into a higher layer, where it drifts with the wind and comes down thinly over a wider area. A broken duct leaks at the intake and smokes so you can find the gap. Oily exhaust condenses as Waste Oil in the base of the stack, which you drain with a Fluid Pipe.
Filtering. The Electrostatic Precipitator sits in the exhaust line and catches soot, more the faster it turns. It fills up with Soot and Industrial Dust for a Funnel to pull out. Pipe water into it and it also washes out sulfur, as Acidic Runoff.
Cleanup. The Air Scrubber is a kinetic machine that takes a Filter Cartridge and cleans the chunk around it. Scrubbers placed side by side on the same axis join into one panel with a shared cartridge; a full 5x5 panel also clears the high layer. Cartridges clog and come back clean through Bulk Washing, which also gives back Soot. The Respirator protects the wearer.
Waste fluids. Industrial Wastewater, Acidic Runoff, Waste Oil and Industrial Sludge, with treatment in the Basin: settle wastewater with a Mechanical Mixer, neutralize runoff with limestone, refine Waste Oil over a Blaze Burner, and compact sludge into Sludge Cake with a Mechanical Press. Dumped into the world, these fluids contaminate the ground and kill plants.
Oil Burner. A heater for Basins and Steam Engine boilers that burns liquid fuel. Very dirty on Waste Oil, much cleaner on refined fuel.
Monitoring. The Smog Sensor outputs a 0-15 redstone signal for the pollution around it. The Aerometer shows a live reading while held, and Engineer's Goggles show the state of every Smog machine. Ponder scenes cover the Air Scrubber, smokestacks and ducts, and the precipitator.
Pollution models
Set in config/smog-common.toml under [integration]:
mode = "POTR" # POTR, BUILT_IN or POTR_AND_BUILT_IN
Exactly one model runs unless you pick the experimental mode.
BUILT_IN runs Smog's own model. Each chunk tracks soot, fumes and sulfur in two layers
(ground and high air), plus contamination of the ground water. This is the full feature set: acid
rain, wind drift, crop stalling, ground contamination from dumped fluids. If PoTR is installed it is
left completely alone.
POTR hands pollution over to Pollution of the Realms and turns the built-in model off. Smog's
machines work on PoTR's pollution instead: smokestacks and ducts catch the gas PoTR releases around
its sources and let it out at the top, precipitators filter it on the way, scrubbers and respirators
remove it, and the sensor and Aerometer read PoTR's numbers. Sources PoTR doesn't know about, like
the Oil Burner, release PoTR gas at their smokestack. Acid rain, the high-air layer and ground
contamination are built-in features, so they don't happen in this mode, and /smog set, add and
clear are refused.
This is the default. Without PoTR installed it falls back to BUILT_IN, so a fresh install
without PoTR runs the built-in model. Use POTR if your pack already uses PoTR and you want Smog
for its machines. Use BUILT_IN if you don't have PoTR, or want acid rain and the waste water
side of the mod.
POTR_AND_BUILT_IN (experimental)
Both models run at once and Smog's machines act on both. It is never selected automatically.
- Each model counts its own pollution. A vanilla furnace pollutes in both; sources only Smog knows
are forwarded into PoTR at
potrEmissionScale. The two numbers are on different scales and the balance between them is not tuned. - PoTR's breathing effects replace the built-in ones unless
potionAirEffectsWithPotr = true. - Smog's haze and PoTR's visuals both render.
- Gauges show the built-in reading;
/smogshows both. - It is covered by the automated tests but has not been played for long.
If the PoTR integration throws an error at runtime (for example after a PoTR update changes its internals), Smog logs it once, disables the integration and falls back to the built-in model.
compatibility
Install on both the server and the client.
optional
- Pollution of the Realms 9.0.0 or newer. Tested with 9.1.6.0
- Accessories: the Respirator can be worn in a face slot.
- KubeJS: a
Smogbinding for reading and editing pollution. - Advanced Chimneys: its chimneys, pipes and vents count as smokestack blocks through the
smog:flueblock tag.
none of these load without the mod present.
The default source list also has entries for Create Crafts & Additions, Create Diesel Generators, Create: The Factory Must Grow, Vintage Improvements, Create Big Cannons, Farmer's Delight, Mekanism Generators and Immersive Engineering. Those entries are block IDs in the config. They have not been tested against the mods themselves.
Known issues
- Exhaust Ducts and Smokestacks only work as placed blocks, not on moving contraptions. The Air Scrubber does work on contraptions.
no incompatibilities are known, but the mod has not been tested in large modpacks (300+)
Configuration and commands
Everything is in config/smog-common.toml: the mode, source list and emission rates, tier
thresholds, acid rain, and per-machine settings. Sources are listed as "<block id>=<rate>" or
"#<block tag>=<rate>", optionally with an emission profile (:combustion, :smelting,
:engine, :clean, :oil). Blocks can also be added through the smog:polluting block tag.
/smog reading where you stand, with the active model
/smog exhaust where the exhaust from the block you look at goes
/smog set|add <value> [soot|fumes|sulfur|water] (built-in model, op only)
/smog clear
