## 1.5.0 ### Added - **Minecraft 26.1.2 and 26.2 support** - **Vulkan renderer support on 26.2.** Videos play on either renderer; Vulkan support is EXPERIMENTAL. - **Clearer diagnostics**: `debugLogging` now also reports the environment (OS, Java, Minecraft, graphics backend and driver, WATERMeDIA state) and a per-second playback line. - **Explicit message when WATERMeDIA's FFmpeg backend fails to load**, instead of a video that silently never starts. ### Changed - **Updated WATERMeDIA stack:** - API `3.0.0.21` → `3.0.0.22` - Native Binaries `rc.4` → `3.0.0.5` - **Videos now upload at their native resolution.** The automatic upload-resolution cap added in 1.4.0 was removed: the frame is no longer downscaled before upload, so playback keeps the quality of the source and the GPU handles the scaling. - **Mature-content filtering is now handled entirely by WATERMeDIA.** The `blockMatureContent` option is unchanged and mirrors WATERMeDIA's own policy, which covers more sources than the previous built-in domain list. - Inherited the fixes and hardening of the updated WATERMeDIA stack. ### Fixed - **Pausing a video before it started playing no longer gets stuck on the loading screen.**

# Changelog ## 1.4.0 ### Added - **Minecraft 1.21.11 support** - **High-quality YouTube** playback, now **built into WATERMeDIA natively** through `yt-dlp` — no separate extension mod is required anymore. - **More platform sources out of the box** via the same native `yt-dlp` integration: **Facebook, Instagram, Newgrounds, SoundCloud**. - **Automatic upload-resolution cap**: video frames are never uploaded larger than the game window, so a 4K video on a 1080p display no longer wastes VRAM or bandwidth. - **`debugLogging`** option in `conditionalvideos-common.json` for detailed diagnostics (client-only, default off). - **Hold-to-skip-the-playlist gesture with a progress bar.** Tap the skip key to skip the current video, or hold it to fill a bar and skip the whole playlist; a single-video tap shows no bar. A "release to skip the playlist" message appears once the bar is full. ### Changed - **Updated WATERMeDIA stack:** - API `3.0.0.17` → `3.0.0.21` - Native Binaries `rc.1` → `rc.4` (FFmpeg 8.0.1; now also provisions the bundled `yt-dlp` / botguard binaries) - The old optional **Platform Extension** is gone — YouTube and the extra platforms were merged into WATERMeDIA itself, so only the **Multimedia API** and **Native Binaries** are needed. - Inherited several WATERMeDIA playback improvements: AV1 software decode when the GPU can't, AMD (AMF) hardware decoding, tighter A/V sync, correct audio after pause/underrun, and fewer torn frames under load. ### Fixed - **The whole-playlist skip now happens on key release.** Releasing the skip key after the hold completes skips the playlist; releasing early no longer skips anything and the current video keeps playing. - **The skip hint is no longer shown for `skippable = false` videos.** - **Local videos now play on their first attempt after each launch.** - Hardened player startup with a dedicated retry-grace counter for player-creation failures, instead of relying solely on the screen-level timeout. - **Unresolvable URLs (e.g. a deleted/unavailable YouTube video) no longer storm the extractor.** A failing source was retried about once a second for 30 seconds; with the yt-dlp extractor each retry spawns a process, which starved the CPU and could freeze a currently-playing video (image stuck, audio continuing) and hang the next entry on a long loading screen. Failed sources are now retried a few times with backoff, then logged as invalid/unavailable and skipped to the next entry (or playback closes if it was the only/last one). A next entry that already failed while preloading is skipped at once instead of waiting.

# Changelog ## 1.3.0 ### Added **New condition types** - **`totemUsed`** — plays when a Totem of Undying saves the player. - **`bedSleep`** — plays when the player starts sleeping in a bed. - **`itemObtained/<item>`** — plays when the player obtains a configured item (pickup, craft, or smelt result). - **`itemCrafted/<item>`** — plays when an item is actually crafted (2×2 grid or crafting table); independent from `itemObtained` and never fired by pickups, `/give`, or smelting. - **`recipeUnlocked/<recipe>`** — plays when a recipe is newly unlocked in the player's recipe book. - **`scoreboard/<objective>`** — plays when a player's score satisfies a comparison. Supports the comparators `equal`, `less`, `greater`, `lessOrEqual`, `greaterOrEqual` (default `greaterOrEqual`) via a `value` + `comparator` field. Edge-triggered and re-armable (fires once on crossing, re-arms only after the comparison turns false), and persistent across reconnects (won't re-fire just because the score is still satisfied on rejoin). - **`custom/<id>`** — a detector-less condition fired by the public API or the `play` command. **Common configuration (`conditionalvideos-common.json`)** - **`videoQuality`** (default `AUTO`) — strictly forces a quality on multi-variant sources, or `AUTO` for best available. - **`alwaysShowCursor`** (default `false`) — keeps the mouse cursor visible during playback. - **`allowGameSounds`** (default `false`) — keeps vanilla sounds playing during a video. - **`blockMatureContent`** (default `true`) — client-only mature-content blocking that a server cannot override; applies to both server-provided and local/singleplayer sources. **Server commands** - `/conditionalvideos play <targets> <condition>`, `stop <targets>`, and `pause <targets>` (permission level 2+, usable from command blocks and the server console), with auto-completion for playable condition keys. **Public API** - A stable `org.mateof24.conditionalvideos.api` package for other mods: register custom conditions, trigger/force/stop/pause playback (server- or client-side), query playback state, and subscribe to playback start/end events. See the Developer Wiki. **Playback & UI** - **Playback queue** — overlapping triggers are postponed and played in sequence instead of cutting each other off; `firstJoin` is always guaranteed to play first. - **Configurable skip key** — a dedicated, rebindable skip key (default unbound, falling back to `ESC`), with an on-screen hint that shows the active key. - **Pause indicator** — a pause icon shown while a video is paused. - **Singular/plural loading text** — the loading screen reads `Loading video…` or `Loading videos…` depending on playlist length. - Command and keybind strings localized in `en_us`, `es_es`, `es_ar`, `es_mx`. ### Changed - Updated the WATERMeDIA API from `3.0.0.16` to `3.0.0.17`. - Config schema `v2` → `v3` — additive migration; existing entries and session history are preserved, new condition maps are created empty. - Cleaner default config — only `firstJoin` ships preconfigured; every other condition is written as an empty `{}` until you add videos. - Quieter console — native FFmpeg stream logging is lowered to error level, so playing streams no longer floods the console with HLS/TLS chatter (real errors are still shown). - Startup performance — advancement detection is now event-driven (via the advancements packet) instead of scanning every advancement each tick, and the singleplayer config is cached briefly, reducing main-thread cost so early cinematics such as `firstJoin` start more smoothly. ### Fixed - Minecraft toast notifications (advancements, recipes, system) were drawn on top of the playback screen and obstructed it. They are now hidden while a video is playing and shown afterward (postponed, not lost). - The second playback of a `videoLoop`/`playlistLoop` URL video could stall for several seconds on a black screen each loop. The swap now happens as soon as the next clip is ready, making repeats near-instant. - With the `doImmediateRespawn` gamerule on, dying to a configured entity always fell back to the generic death video (or no video, if the generic one wasn't configured) because the killer was resolved after the player had already respawned. The killer is now captured at the moment of death. - When a video screen was replaced without closing normally, WATERMeDIA backends (textures / FFmpeg player / audio) were never released. Cleanup now runs on every screen removal.

# Changelog ## 1.2.0 ### Added - **Multiplayer loading screen for every condition.** Whenever a condition (`firstJoin`, `playerDeath`, `deathByEntity`, `entityKilled`, `advancementCompleted`, `dimensionChanged`) is about to play a local-file video that is still being transferred from the server, a full-screen black overlay with an animated spinner and a translatable label takes over until the download finishes, then hands off seamlessly to the playback screen. World sounds are muted while it is up. For `firstJoin` specifically, the server also keeps the player in Spectator while the overlay is on screen, matching the previous behavior; other conditions only display the overlay. - **`titleTextScale` and `descriptionTextScale`.** Per-entry font multipliers for the title and description overlays. - **`textBoxOpacity`.** Per-entry control over the background opacity of the title/description box. - **YouTube and HTTP/HTTPS URL sources.** Any condition entry can now reference a URL (including YouTube links) as its `source`. URL playback is powered by **WATERMeDIA v3** and the optional **WATERMeDIA YouTube Extension**; URLs are excluded from the server↔client file transfer pipeline and resolved independently by each client. - **`videoVolume`.** Per-entry audio volume control (`0.0`–`1.0`). - **`videoLoop`.** When `true`, the entry replays itself seamlessly until the player skips it with `ESC`. Forces `skippable = true`; if the user configures `videoLoop = true` together with `skippable = false` the entry now safely plays once and a configuration warning is logged. - **Playlists per condition.** The single `video` string field has been replaced by `videos: [...]`, a list of `VideoEntry` items played in order. A `playlistLoop` flag at the condition level repeats the whole list once the last entry finishes. - **Transitions between playlist entries.** Each entry can declare a `transition` (`cut` — default, frame-perfect — or `fadeOut/In`) and an optional `nextAt` cue point (seconds) at which the player should hand off to the next entry instead of waiting for the natural end of the video. - **Versioned config schema with automatic migration.** Configs from 1.1.x are upgraded the first time 1.2.0 reads them. A backup of the original is written next to the file as `*.bak-v<previousVersion>` before the migration runs. - **Auto-hiding cursor.** The mouse cursor fades out after a few seconds of inactivity during video playback and reappears the instant the mouse moves. - **Release-after-hold ESC.** Holding `ESC` for roughly one second and then releasing closes the playback screen; the action only fires on release so the in-world pause menu does not toggle if the key stays pressed. - **Spanish locales.** Translations shipped for `es_es`, `es_ar`, and `es_mx` in addition to the existing `en_us`. ### Changed - **Backend upgrade to WATERMeDIA v3.** The video pipeline now targets WATERMeDIA's v3 API natively, which also covers URL streaming, so a separate "YouTube plugin" dependency is no longer required for non-YouTube URLs. The YouTube Extension mod remains optional for YouTube links specifically. - **Server-side mod surface trimmed.** A dedicated Forge/Fabric server no longer references any client-only or WATERMeDIA classes, eliminating crash paths reported on dedicated servers. ### Fixed - **[1.21.1] Advancement condition not re-triggering after revoke.** On Minecraft 1.21.1, revoking an advancement (via `/advancement revoke` or other means) and re-completing it within the same session did not replay the configured video. The detection system now intercepts the server advancement packet directly — including the `removed` set that MC 1.21.1 uses to communicate revocations — so re-earned advancements correctly trigger their videos without requiring `/reload` or a rejoin. - **F11 / window resize no longer re-runs the playback intro.** Pressing F11 (fullscreen toggle) or resizing the window during a video used to reset the elapsed-time counter, which re-played the title / description / skip-hint fade-in animation and re-positioned the text box. Resizes are now non-destructive: the backend stays alive and the overlay timers keep their progress.

# Bugfixes - Fixed infinite retry loop when a configured video path is invalid or not found — the condition is now discarded after the first failed attempt and stops retrying until the next session - Fixed gamemode toggle spam caused by notifyFirstJoinVideoState(true) being sent before path validation — the server is now only notified when playback actually starts - Fixed session consumed key being written before confirming the video path exists, which was incorrectly burning a non-repeatable condition even when the video failed to play - Removed duplicate registration of CLIENT_VIDEO_REQUEST_PACKET receiver in ConfigSyncNetworking.init() # Improvements **[Network]:** Manifested video paths from the server are now tracked client-side; if a video is pending download, the client correctly retries instead of discarding the condition as invalid **[Server]:** Server now logs a warning when a configured video file is missing from its filesystem at manifest build time, giving server operators visibility into broken paths without burdening clients **[Network]:** Client no longer reports "invalid or not found" for paths that are legitimately pending a server download
