# Introduction My grandson and I collaborated to create this version. The most important change is that the datum can now be used in Survival mode. ## Better looking datum block We used BlockBench to completely redraw the datum block. The new version is more three-dimensional, and looks more like a surveyor's instrument. ## Mithril, magichite, and the datum remote A remote can now be crafted and used to control the datum. The remote can be handled and stored like any other item. Right-clicking with the remote in hand gives the same functionality as the `/datum` command. The remote must be crafted from two mithril ingots and a magichite crystal.
