Claims

A claim is a group of connected claimed chunks by one player. Unless there is none, a claimed chunk is added to the nearest existing claim. Otherwise, a new one is created.

Players can use claim rules to manage how others can interact with chunks in their claim. Scroll down to see a list of all rules, their options, and how to change them. Additionally, specific players that bypass all claim rules can be added to a claim, either permanently or only while the claim owner is online.

Command Feedback of setrule

Commands

Players use the /chunk command to manage their claims. The subcommmands, e.g. to claim chunks, change claim rules and manage players, become visible as soon as the player can use them.

Using Bonfire's commands is pretty easy and self-explanatory, even for unexperienced players. Every commands execution tells the player exactly what they just changed and what that means. Most commands also have dialogs to guide inexperienced players trough the process.

Command Feedback of setrule

Operators can manage claims of other players using the experimental /bonfire command, which allows them to unclaim chunks, remove claims, change their owner, and more.

Claim Rules

They are enforced on both the server and the client. Players are given visual feedback when their actions are restricted on a claim, for example, when block outlines or attack indicator vanish for them.

RulesalwaysinteractOnlynever
blockActionsBlocks can be broken, placed, and fully interacted with.Blocks can be interacted with, but can't be placed or broken.Blocks can't be placed, broken, or interacted with.
entityActionsEntities can be interacted with and collided with, as well as damaged.Entities can be interacted with, but can't be damaged, leashed, or collided with.Entities belonging to the claim can't be interacted with.

Mobs that players own, or that don't belong to the claim, are unaffected by the entity actions rule.

Maps

If BlueMap or squaremap are installed on the server, claims are automatically visible on the map and their config options dynamically appear in Bonfire's config.yml. Clicking the images below opens the demo map.

Limits

To prevent players from claiming the whole world, the number of chunks and claims per player is limited based on the playtime statistic. Players get one chunk for every hour of playtime they have, and one claim for every day of playtime they have, with a maximum of 5 claims. This can be customised in the config.

Limits can be adjusted per player with the /bonfire overrideLimits command, which opens a dialog for granting additional chunks and claims. You can also use the dynamic permission bonfire.playtime_multiplier.<percent>. For example, bonfire.playtime_multiplier.200 doubles a player's playtime earnings.

Config

Bonfire's default configs should work perfectly for most servers and SMPs. However, if you want to adjust some settings, you can do that in the config.yml in plugins/Bonfire. There you can change claim limits, the default rules for newly created claims, the design and functionality of map markers, and much more.

Default config.yml

Что нового
After 9 months of conceptualization, gathering feedback, development, and testing, the first full release of Bonfire is being published today. It comes with many fundamental yet definitive changes that have been in the works for a long time. - **Claim Escaping** is now possible using the `/chunk escape` command, which solves the problem of players getting stuck in claims where blocks can't be destroyed. To prevent abuse, it has a configurable cooldown. - **Nether Claims** are now split into separate ground and roof chunks, allowing players on the ground to travel beneath a claimed gold farm on the roof. - **Origin tagging** has been refined, allowing mobs on claims to attack each other without malicious players being able to exploit it. It is now possible, for example, to zombify your villagers on your own claim. - **Dialogs** are now implemented across all commands, taking the user experience to a whole new level. Inexperienced players can use intuitive menu flows, while experts can continue to use commands exclusively. - **Squaremap markers** are now supported and display claims. Shoutout to [PawelWielga](https://github.com/PawelWielga) for [implementing](https://github.com/foenichs/Bonfire/commit/64ee53714f90c8bddbf335baefb680bcfb928cad) it and creating a pull request on GitHub. - **Claim rules** have been reworked into `blockActions` and `entityActions`, with the options `always`, `interactOnly`, and `never`. The dream of a perfectly protected claim that never impacts the owner is now reality. - **Limit overrides** are now possible using the `/bonfire overrideLimits` command, and allow you to grant additional chunks and claims to players. A dynamic playtime multiplier permission has been implemented as well. In addition to that, many smaller issues and bugs have been resolved. - Blocks can no longer be destroyed by interacting with their supporting blocks, for example when opening a trapdoor attached to a lantern. - Players can now throw wind charges to interact with blocks on their claim. - Bonfire no longer takes exclusive control of game modes and attributes, and now restores a player's previous values instead of resetting them. - The `config.yml` is now updated automatically whenever new options are added. Options for map plugins only appear if the matching plugin is installed. - Claim lookups and player refreshes are now significantly faster. - Creative players no longer need OP to bypass claim restrictions. - It is no longer possible to bring mobs onto a claim using leashes or vehicles. - Item frames, paintings, and cushions are now handled as blocks rule-wise.
