Blocks for Builders 1.5.3 - 26.2
1.5.3-26.224 июл. 2026 г.684Minecraft: 26.2fabric
Что нового
- Fixed Scorchwood Sapling not converting the ground beneath it to Scorched Grass upon growth
- Scorchwood Sapling growth now converts a wider area of surrounding Dirt to Scorched Grass upon growth
_More cleaning up of bugs that slipped through with all the 26.1 changes, and I took the opportunity to make this feature more useful, since one block at a time was not particularly useful for the renewabilty/farming purposes this mechanic was intended for._

Что нового
- Updated to 26.2
_Again, sorry this and the 26.1 update took so long._
_Looking ahead, the Dappled Grove makes the Autumnal Forest largely redundant, so to give an outline of my current plans I'll fold the unique BFB content into the vanilla biome. It works out very neatly, since there are three leaf colours, one vanilla wood type, and two BFB wood types (ie. they'll all be poplar leaves under the hood, but they'll present as yellow poplar, red maple, and orange beech. And then I'll do a texture pack for anyone who wants to restore the more vibrant BFB colours). That might end up being a relatively involved process, so no promises for a speedy 26.3 update, but I'll do my best._

Что нового
- Updated to 26.1
- Tweaked Smooth Stone Bricks texture to better mesh with Smooth Stone
- Fixed bugs with various blocks' models
_The silver lining of rewriting basically all of the model generation code was that I caught a bunch of bugs (things like top slabs not having models)._
_Sorry this took so long. 26.1 was probably the biggest backend update there's been in as long as I've been making mods, and it coincided with the busiest I've ever been at work. Hopefully things are smoother and I can stay more on top of updates going forward. In addition to the changes listed above, some backend world generation stuff also changed, and while I've done my best to replicate things exactly as they were under the new systems, things like the generation of fallen leaf patches or berry bushes in the Autumnal Forest might be very slightly different to how they were before. Hopefully if there are any discrepancies, they shouldn't be noticeable to a degree that impacts gameplay._
_To everyone who waited for me to get this out - thank you for your patience! I know there are people hoping for 1.21.1 backports, and I haven't forgotten about those. I was just preoccupied in getting the main branch updated in what time I had for modding. I think the now-looming 26.3 update is also going to be a bit of an involved one, given the implications of the Dappled Grove, but after that, I'll try and get a backport done._
_Also, I changed the numbering system - I figure Mojang doing it was as good a time as any for me to do the same, because I hadn't been happy with it for a while. Previously the first number incremented whenever Minecraft updated (with the BFB version being the second number), which ended up looking a bit silly as we got up to 9.X.X, despite BFB not being on its ninth version. So now it's just 1.[BFB major version].[BFB minor version] - [Minecraft version]. Hopefully a bit more intuitive going forward, even if jumping back to 1.X.X from 9.X.X is a bit confusing._

Blocks for Builders 9.5.1
9.5.128 дек. 2025 г.1,1 тыс.Minecraft: 1.21.11fabric
Что нового
- Fixed wall-mounted signs having incorrect drops
_This was a weird issue that, as far as I can tell, has been there the whole time and I've just never caught it - apologies! Was kinda just a niche thing with how the signs work that I never thought to check. Should be working now._

Что нового
- Updated to Minecraft 1.21.11
_I'm not sure when the next content update for BFB will be, because honestly at this point I've added most of my ideas. I'll almost certainly have more down the line, but this mod is likely going on the back burner a little bit content-wise as I work on some other projects I'm hopefully going to get out soon._
release
Blocks for Builders 8.5.0
8.5.021 нояб. 2025 г.973Minecraft: 1.21.9, 1.21.10fabric
Что нового
- Updated to Minecraft 1.21.9/10
_At last! Sorry it took as long as it did - real life once again. This update is coming with a bunch of new stuff that was sitting on the backburner though, so hopefully that makes up for it. I believe as of writing this 1.21.11 is very imminent (the pace of these updates sure is something for modding), so I'll definitely get that turned around quicker._
- Added Shelves for all 10 BFB Wood types
_Comes with the move to 1.21.9._
- Added Smooth Stone Wall and Smooth Stone Bricks
_Running theme of this update is lots of new stone blocks. The wall fills out the last gap in the smooth stone family and the bricks fill the niche of a light grey brick block._
- Granite, Diorite, Andesite, and Antigorite Bricks
_Exactly what it sounds like. Like pretty much all blocks mentioned in these notes, they also have stairs, slab, and wall variants._
- Dark Sand and Dark Sandstone
_Dark Sand is crafted by combining two dirt and two sand, and the sandstone family (which includes bricks) fills the niche of a dark tan stone that's long felt absent from Vanilla._
- Light Tuff
_Crafted by combining quartz and tuff - every stone type added in this update is craftable rather than generating naturally, as I like things being renewable and want to avoid necessitating world expansions/regenerations as much as possible, given they're already needed more frequently than in the past thanks to the drop system. Light tuff has every block the regular tuff family does and serves as a pale green/grey block set._
- Calcite Blocks
_Calcite now has polished and brick variants, to round out the new stone block colours with a clean white. Calcite is also craftable by combining Cobblestone and Bone Meal._
- Scorchwood Saplings can now be obtained by bonemealing Scorched Grass
_The old method of smelting still works, but this is vastly more practical._
- Changed Vanilla Sandstone and BFB Cut Sandstone Wall models
_The Vanilla Sandstone walls are the only ones whose base blocks aren't the same on all six sides, yet they use the normal wall model anyway, meaning they don't actually match their base block. In the process of creating a wall model appropriate for the new Sandstone walls I was adding, I also changed the Vanilla walls (and BFB walls for whom I hadn't previously caught this) to use it so they actually have the correct textures on each of their faces._
- Texture Tweaks:
- Polished Antigorite
- Grimstone Bricks
- Stripped Pine Log
- Stripped Willow Log
_Nothing super noticeable, just little tweaks to clean up noisy parts of textures, etc._
- Moved Red Sandstone in BFB tab of Creative Inventory
_To better match Vanilla inventory placements._
- Fixed bug where obtaining Gunpowder didn't grant Grimstone recipe unlock
- New Advancement for new content

Что нового
- Fixed issues with log tagging preventing Scorchwood Log blocks from breaking quickly with an axe, among other problems
_There were a bunch of problems stemming from this, the Scorchwood breaking speed being the biggest. Major oversight on my part which as far as I can tell has been there from the start. Should be fixed now at least._

Blocks for Builders 6.4.1
6.4.128 мая 2025 г.336Minecraft: 1.21.5fabric
Что нового
_Sorry this took so long to get out. Real life has just been busy and I haven't had the time I'd have liked for modding. Seems like 1.21.6 is already pretty imminent so I'll probably wait for that and then try and get a nice content update out sharp-ish once it's released. On a more positive note, Mojang threw me some bones this update so that was nice._
- Updated to 1.21.5
_(Finally!)_
- All BFB trees now emit falling leaf particles
_Most just emit them at the same rate as whatever the closest thing they have to a Vanilla counterpart is, with the exception of the Autumnal Forest trees, which emit them at a higher rate, since that's sort of the point with them. Really adds to the vibes in that biome._
- Advancement Fixes
_I think a couple were bugged so that should be sorted, and Fall Guy now requires you to actually hit the ground - something I can take no credit for; Mojang just fixed their advancement trigger._

Blocks for Builders 5.4.1
5.4.19 мар. 2025 г.421Minecraft: 1.21.4fabric
Что нового
_Was doing some post-update backend cleaning up and optimising and caught a number of small issues/model inconsistencies/etc. so here's a quick fix for everything I noticed._
- Added Hay Rug
_Realised Hay should probably have this to match the other Thatch blocks._
- Reworked Pillar Slabs (Thatch and Grimstone Slabs)
_They now behave essentially exactly the same as full pillar blocks, meaning they have a "Y-axis" version that can be used to extend columns in addition to the pre-existing variants. I also reworked Grimstone Tile slabs to make them consistent with this since their previous model kinda made no sense. The only real loss there is there might be very specific niche cases where they'll look slightly worse next to the stairs but otherwise it's a total gain for them as they'll be much more versatile now. The only other general effect of this change is that now these Slabs default to facing towards you when placed, instead of away, for consistency with their Block counterparts over Stairs, but that should be easy enough to get used to._
- Added all BFB Saplings to the Wandering Trader
_Probably should have caught this sooner. Not a huge deal but just added it for parity with Vanilla. And nice if anyone's running BFB in a superflat world?_
- Tweaked Bamboo Thatch textures
_The twine holding them together now matches that of the Vanilla Bamboo Raft for consistency._
- Tweaked Palm Raft textures
_Tiny change to add dark spots to the rope where it crosses the lines between blanks, for consistency with the Vanilla raft design._
- Pillar Slabs and Carpets now have the same orientation as Pillar Stairs in the inventory
- Moved Hay Blocks' position in the Creative inventory
- Fixed a handful of Slab blocks' names being "Slabs" as opposed to "Slab"

Что нового
- Added Palm Wood Type
_The first of a number of woods added in this update, Palm trees generate naturally on beaches and are unique in that instead of saplings, they have Coconuts._
- Added Coconuts
_To reflect the incredible versatility of real-world coconuts, BFB's Coconuts can be used for a wide variety of purposes. They grow new Palm Trees when planted on Sand or Red Sand, but can also be milked, sheared (by a player or Dispenser) for Fibers which can be used for String, Brown Dye, Bundles, or new brown Coconut Thatch blocks, or crafted into Husks, which can be crafted into Bone Meal or cooked into Charcoal. And of course, you can eat them._
- Added Maple Wood Type
_Red Oak is no more; now there's a proper wood type associated with the tree! Maple Planks are a very pale pink-ish brown._
- Added Beech Wood Type
_This replaces Orange Oak and its Planks are pale orange._
- Added Pine Wood Type
_Found in the new Alpine Forest biome, Pine is a darker brown that's less saturated than the darker Vanilla offerings._
- Added Cedar Wood Type
_Also found in the Alpine Forest, Cedar Wood is yellow-y brown._
- Added Hedges
_This one has been on the planned features list forever; basically just Walls made out of leaves._
- Added Antigorite
_This pale green stone block acts like a fourth member of the Granite/Diorite/Andesite family, being found in blobs underground or crafted from Cobblestone and either Iron or Copper Ingots, and being able to be crafted into Stairs, Slabs, Walls, and Polished variants for each of those._
- Added Polished Granite, Diorite, and Andesite walls
_As I was making Polished Antigorite Walls I was surprised to realise the Polished Vanilla blocks lacked Walls specifically. So now they have them._
- Added Sandstone and Red Sandstone Bricks
_And the usual Cracked Bricks, Stairs, Slab, and Wall variants for each._
- Added Cut Sandstone Stairs and Walls, and Smooth Sandstone Walls
_Just more parity stuff, filling in gaps in Vanilla block families._
- Added Cracked Grimstone Bricks and Tiles
_Forgot these as part of the original Grimstone update, but now they're here!_
- Autumnal Forest now spawns Rusty Wolves
_A more fitting camouflaged coat for the canines native to the biome._
- Tweaked Scorchwood Tree generation
_Nothing major, just some changes to make the small branches look a little more natural and less consistently spaced._
- Tweaked Green Jungle Tree Generation
_Can now spawn with Vines and Cocoa, and can grow a mega variant from a 2x2 Sapling formation, just like its regular Jungle counterpart._
- Tweaked Cracked Red Nether Bricks texture
_The cracks are now slightly less dark so they fit the texture better._
- Tweaked Willow Leaves texture
_Less huge gaps._
- Tweaked Willow Door and Trapdoor textures
_Shrank the gaps slightly and moved them together so the side of the door didn't look strange while opened._
- Changed sounds for Bamboo Thatch blocks
_They now share sounds with Hay blocks to better fit the idea that they're woven fibers rather than rigid wooden blocks._
- Berry Bushes in Autumnal Forest now generate fully grown
- Fixed Great Library advancement not working; Great Library now requires placing Palm, Maple, Beech, Pine, and Cedar Bookshelves
- Fixed Grimstone Tile Slabs having no textures when doubled
- Fixed Grimstone having the wrong map colour
- Added several new advancements for the new content
_Since it had taken longer than I'd have liked to get around to a new BFB update (combination of real life and modding time being spent on other projects - keep an eye on my profile for those!), I figured I'd make up for the delay by throwing in my entire planned features list plus the kitchen sink._
_The woods added by BFB so far are great, but tended towards the more colourful end of the spectrum, so I took the opportunity to add several new shades of brown, which are always appreciated when building. Coconuts are super versatile; they'll be godsends in early game survival but their Fibers also made for a natural way to introduce brown variants to the growing Thatch family. Throw in finally adding Hedges, a new stone variant and the usual small Vanilla variant and parity additions and BFB now has over 300 blocks and items!_
_I still have a few ideas for future updates (definitely not done messing with the stone variants, and there's one big update I have in mind, though that might still be a ways off), but hopefully a content dump of this size should make up for how long 5.4.0 took and keep you busy for a while to come._

Что нового
- Updated to Minecraft 1.21.4
_I was hoping to have some content for BFB ready for Christmas but with the way Vanilla updates played out, that doesn't really look likely at this point. 1.21.2/4 hitting back to back and were relatively time consuming to handle. Stand by for a content update soon^TM (possibly before Christmas but more likely in the new year)._

Что нового
- Added Scorchwood Wood Type
_Black wood! This is very much intended as a counterpart to Pale Oak (to the point that the Door and Trapdoor share its design), opening up new options for cool monochrome builds._
_The trees are unique in that they don't have leaves. You can obtain their saplings by baking any other kind of sapling in a Furnace._
- Added the Scorched Forest
_This forest used to be thick and lush, but a ravaging inferno has long since left it scarred and barren. There's nothing exclusive to this biome, but given the weirdness of obtaining Scorchwood Saplings, it serves as an easy way to collect a lot of wood fast._
- Added Scorched Grass
_This makes up the ground in the Scorched Forest, so it can be obtained en masse there. It's also renewable, as the growth of a Scorchwood Sapling will transform whatever block it's on into Scorched Grass._
- Added Ashen Carpet
_Again, this can be quickly gathered in high quantities by visiting the Scorched Forest, or obtained renewably by baking Moss or Pale Moss Carpet in a Furnace._
- Added Pale Oak Bookshelf
- Added Fallen Pale Oak Leaves
- Added Advancements for entering the Scorched Forest and obtaining a Scorchwood Sapling
- The Great Library Advancement now requires placing Scorchwood and Pale Oak Bookshelves
- Added Pumpkin Pie to the Blocks for Builders tab in the Creative Menu
- Updated Nether Brick textures to match the changes to Vanilla brick blocks

- Changed Ghostwood Planks textures to light grey
_With Mojang adding Pale Oak, having two white wood sets seemed redundant. It's only the planks that have changed though - Ghostwood Stripped Logs were basically grey to begin with, and I kept the doors and trapdoors as they were since they're nice designs and definitely distinct from their Pale Oak counterparts._
- Added Grimstone
_Crafted with Cobbled Deepslate and Gunpowder (as a reference to their original names), this is a sort of pale red/purple blockset that has all the same variants as deepslate. Good for seasonal spooky builds!_
- Added Bamboo Thatch and Bamboo Mosaic Rugs
_People do this in real life, so now you can do it in Minecraft! Thatch comes in block, stair, slab and rug variants, and I gave a rug variant to the Mosaic as well._
- Pumpkin Pies are now placeable
_One last fun bit of autumn content; they work just like cakes!_
- Achievement changes
_Added one for crafting Grimstone, fixed Fall Guy triggering without hitting the ground, and changed the Green Jungle Sapling-related achievements to be more centric to the actual item._
- Fixed Chiseled Red Nether Bricks texture
_The Magma Cube is properly centred now!_
- Fixed Willow, Green Jungle, and Green Bamboo Trapdoors not being orientable

Что нового
- Added the Willow wood type (trees found on rivers)
_A full new wood type and associated tree; a pale/pastel-y teal that pairs well with Prismarine or white block palettes._
- Added Green Bamboo wood type
_Bamboo wood is great but the initial Block of Bamboo is a really nice texture too, so now it has all the wood blocks!_
- Added the Autumnal Forest biome
_Red Oak and Gold Acacia were nice but I really wanted to round out the Autumn colours, and rather than continuing to spawn them rarely in random biomes it seemed fitting to give them their own biome. It also serves as a nice showcase of Fallen Leaves. The end result looks pretty striking and will hopefully be a fun destination to adventure to in search of the new trees._
- Added Orange Oak and Yellow Birch trees, found in the Autumnal Forest
- Moved Red Oak trees to the Autumnal Forest
- Added Hay Stairs and Slabs
_Nice for thatched roofs. Fun fact, not a single vanilla slab is directional, so these are unique in that way._
- Added Quartz Wall, Smooth Quartz Wall, and Quartz Brick Wall, Stairs, and Slabs
_More parity stuff in the vein of the Nether Bricks. The slabs use the directional model from Hay Slabs though, so you can finally make floors out of Quartz Bricks and have them actually face the way you want._
- Added Advancements
_These are in part just a nice addition to the mod but also serve as a soft guide/tutorial to remind you what's in the mod and where some key items can be found. They were ton of fun to come up with so I hope you enjoy!_
- Removed Paper Lanterns
_This was a tough decision but ultimately the Paper Lanterns just didn't feel Vanilla enough to fit in with the rest of the mod, so I took them out and now they're their own mod which you can get [here](https://modrinth.com/mod/bfb-paper-lanterns)._
_I did two major things behind the scenes for this update (and the update to 1.21). Firstly, I basically rewrote the whole mod from scratch so all the code is now way cleaner, more streamlined, and easier to work with, which should make adding new stuff much faster. Second, I really doubled down on Vanilla parity - things like crafting recipe groups, proper tagging, I've gone through it all with a fine-toothed comb to make sure the mod slots into Vanilla as seamlessly as possible. The goal is that if you're playing on Survival, it should be impossible to tell what's modded outside of the Advancements screen._
_Also it looks like literally the day I'm uploading this, Mojang are going to drop white wood of their own (second time this has happened lol) so if/when they do, expect Ghostwood to change to grey instead (the doors will likely remain unchanged though, unless Mojang's equivalents are screen doors as well)._
